Centre line velocity variation in the laminar wake of a thin flat plate set parallel to a stream

Summary Wake study of a 0° incidence thin flat plate in a low-density supersonic flow has shown that the existing theories are not adequate to describe the near wake development in a low Reynolds number compressible flow. Comparison with the available experimental data is also made.

Résumé Le sillage pour un écoulement supersonique de basse densité autour d'une plaque mince à incidence de 0° a été étudié. Il a été montré que les théories existantes ne sont pas suffisantes pour décrire le développement à proximité du sillage dans un écoulement compressible d'un nombre de Reynolds bas. A general approach to cyathin diterpenes. Total synthesis of allocyathin B(3)

[reaction: see text] The synthesis of allocyathin B(3) from an advanced intermediate possessing the ring system and relative stereochemistry but lacking the isopropyl and hydroxymethyl groups is reported. The isopropyl group was introduced by radical cyclization of a methyl propargyl acetal of an alpha-bromo ketone, and the hydroxymethyl group was generated by Pd-catalyzed carbonylation of a vinyl triflate. The route provides functionalized intermediates that could allow access to more complex members of the cyathin family of diterpenes.

Mechanistic study of the reaction of methyl peroxy radical (CH3O2) with formaldehyde (CH2O)

ABSTRACT

A direct dynamic study on the reactions of CH₃O₂?+?CH₂O was carried out over the temperature range of 300–1500?K. All stationary points were calculated with the M06-2X/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory and identified for local minimum. The energetic parameters were refined at QCISD (T)/cc-pVTZ and CCSD (T)/cc-pVTZ levels of theory. Three channels were explored and a reaction of hydrogen abstraction from CH₂O by CH₃O₂ was identified as dominant channel which involves the formation of a prereactive complex in the entrance channel. The rate coefficient of the dominant channel was calculated with TST and TST/Eck and the Eckart tunnelling effect is only important over the lower temperature region. The calculated rate coefficient of the dominant channel has positive temperature dependence and agrees reasonably with the available literature data.
