The electrochemical behavior of Si--C linked organic monolayers is studied in electrolyte-insulator-Si devices, under conditions normally encountered in potentiometric biosensors, to gain fundamental knowledge on the behavior of such Si electrodes under practical conditions. This is done via titration experiments, Mott-Schottky data analysis, and data fitting using a site-binding model. The results are compared with those of native SiO(2) layers and native SiO(2) layers modified with hexamethyldisilazane. All samples display pH sensitivity. The number of Si--OH groups on the alkylated samples is calculated to be less than 0.7 % of that of a pure SiO(2) insulator, which still causes a pH sensitivity of approximately 25 mV per pH unit in the pH range: 4-7. The alkylated samples hardly suffer from response changes during up- and down-going titrations, which indicates that very little oxide is additionally formed during the measurements. The pK(a) values of all samples with monolayers (4.0-4.4) are lower than that of native SiO(2) (6.0). The long-term drift (of approximately 1 mV h(-1)) is moderate. The results indicate that biosensors composed of alkylated Si substrates are feasible if a cross-sensitivity towards pH in the sensor signal is taken into account.  相似文献

A liquid chromatographic method is described for separating and determining vinblastine, vincristine and vindesine in plasma and urine. The drugs are extracted from the biological material using an ion-pair extraction, with sodium octylsulphate as counter-ion at pH 3. The extracts are injected on a reversed-phase system with a cyano column as stationary phase and a mobile phase composed of acetonitrile-phosphate buffer, pH 3 (65:35, vol. %). Stability studies are carried out for stock solutions of the drugs in water at different temperatures and pH values. The stability of these compounds in plasma is also investigated in the presence of an antioxidant. The method is applied to determine drug levels of vindesine and vinblastine in preliminary pharmacokinetic studies, using vincristine as the internal standard.  相似文献

This communication presents the first functionalization of a hydrogen-terminated silicon-rich silicon nitride (Si3Nx) surface with a well-defined, covalently attached organic monolayer. Properties of the resulting monolayers are monitored by measurement of the static water contact angle, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRRAS). Further functionalization was performed by reaction of Si3Nx with a trifluoroethanol ester alkene (CH2=CH-(CH2)8CO2CH2CF3) followed by basic hydrolysis to afford the corresponding carboxylic acid-terminated monolayer with hydrophilic properties. These results show that Si3Nx can be functionalized with a tailor-made organic monolayer, has highly tunable wetting properties, and displays significant potential for further functionalization.  相似文献

Next to the "normal" calix[4]pyrrole 1, the N-confused calix[4]pyrrole 2 is formed in substantial amounts (up to 22 % yield) as side product in the acid-catalyzed condensation reaction of ketones and pyrrole. In some cases, doubly N-confused calix[4]pyrroles are also formed.  相似文献

A synthetic route towards homodiselenacalix[4]arene macrocycles is presented, based on the dynamic covalent chemistry of diselenides. The calixarene inner rim is decorated with either alkoxy or tert‐butyl ester groups. Single‐crystal X‐ray analysis of two THF solvates with methoxy and ethoxy substituents reveals the high similarity of their molecular structures and alterations on the supramolecular level. In both crystal structures, solvent channels are present and differ in both shape and capacity. Furthermore, the methoxy‐substituted macrocycle undergoes a single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal transformation during which the molecular structure changes its conformation from 1,3‐alternate (loaded with THF/water) to 1,2‐alternate (apohost form). Molecular modelling techniques were applied to explore the conformational and energetic behaviour of the macrocycles.  相似文献

The presence of toxic acrylamide in a wide range of food products such as potato crisps, French fries or bread has been confirmed by Swedish scientists from Stockholm University. The neurotoxicity and possible carcinogenicity of this compound and its metabolites compel us to control them by quantitative and qualitative assays. Exposing acrylamide to pH extremes results in its hydrolysis to acrylic acid or its salt. In this work, we present the use of gold electrodes coated with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) containing tetralactam molecules and its precursor as active elements for voltammetric detection of acrylic acid in water solution. The host molecules have been immobilised on the electrode surface by covalent Au–S bond or by embedment method into the thiol layer via hydrophobic and van der Waals interactions. Interactions with analytes were confirmed by Osteryoung square-wave voltammetry.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the switching frequency of a microwave-induced spontaneous electric field forming a domain structure and the conductance of a doping layer that provides electrons to the two-dimensional electron system have been measured on samples fabricated from the same GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure. Both quantities have been found to obey the thermally activated dependence (Arrhenius law) with close activation energies. This result indicates a relation between the quantities and confirms a hypothesis that the observed dynamics of the domain structure originates from the dynamical screening of the spontaneous electric field of domains by charges in the doping layer.  相似文献

A series of hyperbranched polyacenaphthenequinones has been prepared by superelectrophilic aromatic substitution of (substituted) acenaphthenequinone and 1,3,5‐tris‐(4‐phenoxybenzoyl)benzene via a facile A2 + B3 approach. Because of the strongly increased reactivity of the second A functionality, gelation was efficiently avoided during the polymerization. The structure of the resulting polymer was characterized by NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. Further modification of the hyperbranched polyacenaphthenequinone was explored both on the acenaphthenequinone and aromatic moieties. Moreover, the polymer modified through sulfonation was investigated as a water‐soluble acid catalyst for the degradation of biomass resources. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. The on-line combination of comprehensive two-dimensional liquid chromatography (LC?×?LC) with the 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline)-6 sulphonic acid (ABTS) radical scavenging assay was investigated as a powerful method to determine the free radical scavenging activities of individual phenolics in natural products. The combination of hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) separation according to polarity and reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RP-LC) separation according to hydrophobicity is shown to provide much higher resolving power than one-dimensional separations, which, combined with on-line ABTS detection, allows the detailed characterisation of antioxidants in complex samples. Careful optimisation of the ABTS reaction conditions was required to maintain the chromatographic separation in the antioxidant detection process. Both on-line and off-line HILIC?×?RP-LC–ABTS methods were developed, with the former offering higher throughput and the latter higher resolution. Even for the fast analyses used in the second dimension of on-line HILIC?×?RP-LC, good performance for the ABTS assay was obtained. The combination of LC?×?LC separation with an on-line radical scavenging assay increases the likelihood of identifying individual radical scavenging species compared to conventional LC–ABTS assays. The applicability of the approach was demonstrated for cocoa, red grape seed and green tea phenolics.
