Asphaltenes and resins separated from emulsion samples collected from Burgan oil field were used with heptane‐toluene mixtures as model oil to study the effect of oil aromaticity, resin content, and pH of the aqueous phase on the stability of water in model emulsions. It was confirmed that, as long as the asphaltenes are completely solubilized, increasing aromaticity leads to less stable emulsions. A consistent correlation between emulsion stability and relative resin mass content (R/(R+A)) was observed for all three of the field samples. There was a sharp decrease in stability when the R/(R+A) value exceeded 0.75. Emulsion stability was enhanced at high pH and possibly at very low pH (<2).  相似文献

Lubrication analysis of externally pressurized circular porous bearings   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The present study introduces a mathematical formulation for externally pressurized circular porous bearings. A porous layer is used to cover one of the bearing surfaces. An empirical boundary condition with a nonzero tangential velocity, which is known as the velocity slip at the interface, is incorporated into the analysis. The effect of pressure on lubricant viscosity is also considered. The mathematical model consists of two coupled partial differential equations; the first governs the pressure distribution in the film and the second governs the pressure distribution in the porous layer. A simultaneous numerical solution of these equations with the boundary conditions is presented. The effects of porous layer permeability parameter, lubricant viscosity parameter, recess radius, and film thickness on pressure distribution and load-carrying capacity are presented and discussed.  相似文献

Factors controlling the formation and stabilization of water-in-crude oil (w/o) emulsions in oil fields are of great concern to the petroleum industry for the economic development of underground oil reservoirs. Controlling and minimizing the formation of w/o emulsions and demulsification of water from emulsions are also important for environmental development. Because of its importance, the mechanisms, formation, and stability of w/o emulsions have received considerable attention. This article deals with some of the factors responsible for the formation and stabilization of w/o emulsions formed in Burgan oil field in Kuwait. Some of the factors investigated in this study are the naturally occurred surface active components of crude oils such as asphaltenes and resins. Stability of emulsion samples with resins to asphaltenes ratio (R/A) contents of 3, 5, 9, 12, and 20 has been studied. It was found that Emulsion tightness is correlated with resins to asphaltene content of the sample. As the R/content increases the emulsion becomes unstable. The effect of additives such as toluene and dodecyle benzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) on the stability of various emulsion samples collected from oil field are also reported. A 2 wt% of DBSA was found to resolve all the water from emulsion samples collected from Burgan oilfield.  相似文献
