Ytterbium-doped large-pitch fibers with very large mode areas are investigated in a high-power fiber amplifier configuration. An average output power of 294?W is demonstrated, while maintaining robust single-mode operation with a mode field diameter of 62?μm. Compared to previous active large-mode area designs, the threshold of mode instabilities is increased by a factor of about 3. 相似文献

We report on the generation of 27 fs pulses with an average output power of 57 W and a repetition rate of 78 MHz. The pulses
are generated by combining a high average power fiber chirped pulse amplification (FCPA) system with a microstructured large-mode-area
fiber for nonlinear compression. The FCPA system delivers 270 fs pulses in a linearly polarized beam with diffraction-limited
quality. Nonlinear compression is achieved by launching the pulses into a short (few cm) piece of microstructured fiber and
subsequent compression by a pair of chirped mirrors.

In many generic combustion models, one finds that a combustionwave will develop with a specific wave speed. However, thereare possible initial temperature profiles which do not evolveinto such waves, but rather die out to the ambient temperature.There can exist, in some models, a clear distinction betweenthose initial conditions that do evolve into combustion wavesand those that do not; this is sometimes referred to as thewatershed initial condition. When fuel consumption is consideredto be negligible, analytical methods can be used to obtain theexact watershed. In this paper, we consider the problem of determiningpseudo-watersheds and ascertaining the relationship betweenthese pseudo-watersheds and the exact watersheds. We give a simplified proof of the Yoshida–Nicolaescu Theorem in the product case using the theory of partial signatures as in Giambò et al. (2004). The theorem gives the equality of the spectral flow of a family of first order self-adjoint differential operators defined on sections of a Hermitian vector bundle over a partitioned manifold and the Maslov index of the corresponding pair of Cauchy data spaces. No nondegeneracy assumption is made on the endpoints of the path of differential operators. 相似文献
