Estimation of micropore size distribution in active carbons from adsorption isotherms of water vapor

A possibility of estimation of the micropore size distribution in the carbon adsorbents with the developed micro-and mesoporous structure by analysis of the adsorption isotherms of water vapors was considered. At saturation water condenses in micropores in a form of a weakly compressed liquid. However, water molecules in micropores are packed not so closely as in the liquid because of steric hindrance. Therefore, the real density of water adsorbed in the micropores is lower than that of water adsorbed on an open surface and lower than the density of the normal liquid. An analysis of the adsorption isotherms of water vapors with account for the both opposite effects on the water density gives reliable data on the micropore sizes of the carbon adsorbents. Determination of the energy measurement accuracy for charged particles by their range in nuclear photoemulsion

Ranges of monochromatic muons in nuclear photoemulsion, produced in the ?? ?? ??? _?? decay, are measured by the coordinate method to determine their energy by the range. The variance of the muon energymeasured by this method ?? _?? = (0.11±0.01) MeV, which corresponds to the accuracy of the determination of the charged particle energy by the range in nuclear emulsion ??3.1%. The developed technique will allow electron energy measurements in the 2??-decay (??3 MeV)with an accuracy of (5?C6)%.     

Synthesis of condensed pyrrolo[b]pyrazines

Reaction of 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanopyrazine with -azahetarylacetonitriles gives -(3-chloro-5,6-dicyanopyrazin-2-yl)--(2-azahetaryl)acetonitriles. Intergroup azimuthal correlations of secondary particles in the interaction between <Superscript>56</Superscript>Fe nuclei of momentum 2.5 GeV/<Emphasis Type="Italic">c</Emphasis> per nucleon and photoemulsion nuclei

Angular correlations between secondary particles emitted in the interaction between ⁵⁶Fe nuclei of momentum 2.5 GeV/c per nucleon and photoemulsion nuclei were measured. These secondaries are partitioned into four groups: s, g, b, and f. For particles from each pair of the above groups, the average values of the collinearity factor and of the asymmetry parameter, as well as the parameter η of the function α(1+η cos ε) approximating the distribution of azimuthal-angle differences ε, were calculated.     

Observation of the production of cumulative particles in nucleus-nucleus and neutrino-nucleus interactions

Experimental data on the emission of cumulative particles arising in the interaction of 2.5-GeV/c⁵⁶Fe nuclei (FeEm) and 10–200 GeV neutrinos (νEm) with photoemulsion nuclei are analyzed. The number of cumulative particles correlates with the emission of secondary charged particles in the (FeEm) and (νEm) interactions.     

Synthesis of 2-cyanomethylazaheterocycles

2-(α-Aryloxyacetyl)cyanomethyl-, 2-(α-1-adamantylacetyl)cyanomethyl-, 2-(α-adamantoyl)cyanometyl-, and 2-(α-1-naphthylacetyl)cyanomethylazaheterocycles have been synthesized by treating 2-cyanomethylazaheterocycles with carboxylic acid chlorides. The 2-cyanomethylbenzimidazoles exist in the enaminoketone form. The biological activity of the synthesized compounds was studied and substances possessing fungicidal activity discovered. T. G.
