Background  

Growth hormone (GH) plays an incompletely understood role in the development of the central nervous system (CNS). In this study, we use transgenic mice expressing a growth hormone antagonist (GHA) to explore the role of GH in regulating postnatal brain, spinal cord and body growth into adulthood. The GHA transgene encodes a protein that inhibits the binding of GH to its receptor, specifically antagonizing the trophic effects of endogenous GH.  相似文献

Large enhancements have been observed in the sub-barrier fusion cross sections for Ti+Ni systems in our previous studies. Coupled channel calculations incorporating couplings to 2+ and 3 states failed to explain these enhancements completely. A possibilty of transfer channels contributing to the residual enhancements had been suggested. In order to investigate the role of relevant transfer channels, measurements of one- and two-nucleon transfer were carried out for 46,48Ti+61Ni systems. [formula: see text] Iron salts efficiently catalyze the Doyle-Kirmse reaction of allyl sulfides with (trimethylsilyl)diazomethane and ethyl diazoacetate in dichloroethane at 83 degrees C. Competitive dimerization is less of a problem with (trimethylsilyl)diazomethane than with ethyl diazoacetate. Good results are obtained using only 1.5 equiv of (trimethylsilyl)diazomethane, even without slow addition. Phosphine ligands affect the kinetics, but not the diastereoselectivity. Dppe and BINAP lead to higher yields than dppp, but no enantioselection was detected with R-(+)-BINAP.  相似文献

3-Chloro- and 3,7-dichloro-3,4-dihydro-1-hydroxycarbostyrils were synthesized by the catalytic hydrogenation of the α-chloro- and α,4-dichloro-β-(o-nitrophenyl)propionic acids in strong acidic solution over platinum-on-carbon sulfided catalyst. However, the catalytic hydrogenation of α-bromo-β-(o-nitrophenyl)propionic acid yielded 3,4-dihydro-1-hydroxycarbostyril under the same experimental conditions. The 3-chloro-3,4-dihydro-1-hydroxycarbostyril and the α-chloro-β-(o-nitrophenyl)propionic acid underwent facile dehydrochlorination in mild alkaline solution to give 1-hydroxycarbostyril and o-nitrocinnamic acid, respectively. Selective reduction of 3-chloro-3,4-dihydro-1-hydroxycarbostyril and 1-hydroxycarbostyril to the corresponding lactams, 3-chloro-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril and carbostyril, was effected by catalytic hydrogenation in hydrochloric acid over platinum black catalyst. The structures of the substituted carbostyril derivatives were correlated with their proton nmr spectra.  相似文献

The formation and properties of a new class of self-assembled monolayers (SAM) of aryl isocyanides and diisocyanides based on the nonbenzenoid azulenic framework have been investigated using FTIR spectroscopy and ellipsometry. Syntheses of several new members of the isocyanoazulene family, a recently established type of aryl isocyanides, are reported as well. The FTIR spectra for the isocyanoazulene derivatives absorbed on the gold surface indicate the terminal upright coordination of every isocyanoazulene molecule studied. In addition, the ellipsometric thicknesses have been measured and are consistent with those calculated for single monolayers of the isocyanides oriented along the surface normal. Unlike SAMs of some benzenoid aryl isocyanides, the nonbenzenoid isocyanoazule-based SAMs proved resistant to oxidation, oligomerization, and isomerization into the corresponding nitriles under ambient conditions, which is an important prerequisite to their future applications.  相似文献

The instability of cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr3) nanocrystals (NCs) in polar solvents has hampered their use in photocatalysis. We have now succeeded in synthesizing CsPbBr3–CdS heterostructures with improved stability and photocatalytic performance. While the CdS deposition provides solvent stability, the parent CsPbBr3 in the heterostructure harvests photons to generate charge carriers. This heterostructure exhibits longer emission lifetime (τave = 47 ns) than pristine CsPbBr3 (τave = 7 ns), indicating passivation of surface defects. We employed ethyl viologen (EV2+) as a probe molecule to elucidate excited state interactions and interfacial electron transfer of CsPbBr3–CdS NCs in toluene/ethanol mixed solvent. The electron transfer rate constant as obtained from transient absorption spectroscopy was 9.5 × 1010 s−1 and the quantum efficiency of ethyl viologen reduction (ΦEV+˙) was found to be 8.4% under visible light excitation. The Fermi level equilibration between CsPbBr3–CdS and EV2+/EV+˙ redox couple has allowed us to estimate the apparent conduction band energy of the heterostructure as −0.365 V vs. NHE. The insights into effective utilization of perovskite nanocrystals built around a quasi-type II heterostructures pave the way towards effective utilization in photocatalytic reduction and oxidation processes.

Electron ionization and thermospray were used in conjunction with tandem mass spectrometry methods to identify trichloromethyl/C-phenyl-N-tert-butyl nitrone (PBN) spin adducts produced in rat liver microsomal dispersions that had been treated with reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH)-generating system and BrCCl3 (or CCl4). In the identification of PBN spin adducts, a scan of precursors of m / z 57 was utilized to confirm the presence of PBN spin adducts, because PBN spin adducts produce m / z 57 from tert-butyl as a characteristic fragment. Use of deuterated PBN (PBN-d9 deuterated at tert-butyl; PBN-d 14 deuterated at both phenyl and tert-butyl) improved the recognition of PBN adducts in mixtures by precursor ion scans, because m / z 66 (which corresponds to the deuterated tert-butyl group) is characteristic and, unlike m / z 57, it is not a common fragment for any other compounds. Two new PBN spin adducts that were not detected before by electron paramagnetic resonance or mass spectrometry were identified by these methods for the first time.  相似文献
