The Tyson-Fife reaction-diffusion equations are solved numerically using a locally implicit approach. Since the variables evolve at very different time scales, the resulting system of equations is stiff. The reaction term is responsible for the stiffness and the time step is increased by using an implicit method. The diffusion operator is evaluated explicitly and the system of implicit nonlinear equations is decoupled. The method is particularly useful for parameter values in which the equations are very stiff, such as the values obtained directly from the experimental reaction rate constants. Previous efforts modified the parameters on the equations to avoid stiffness. The equations then become a simplified model of excitable media and, for those cases, the locally implicit method gives a faster although less accurate solution. Nevertheless, since the modified equations no longer represent a particular chemical system an accurate solution is not as important. The algorithm is applied to observe the transition from simple motion to compound motion of a spiral tip. 相似文献

A rapid and sensitive micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography analytical method was used for the determination of chlorotriazine herbicides in river water samples. Several electrolyte systems in the pH range 7-10 were tested in order to optimize the separation. The two compounds were separated in less than 10 min and the determination limit was about 0.4 ppb for each herbicide. Recovery values of the method were in the range 80%-117%. 相似文献

The field of proteomics involves the combined application of advanced separation techniques, mass spectrometry, and bioinformatics tools to characterize proteins in complex biological mixtures. Here we report the identification of nine proteins from the human pituitary proteome, using the proteomics approach. The pituitary proteins were separated by two-dimensional electrophoresis, and were visualized by silver staining. The proteins of interest were subjected to in-gel digestion with trypsin, and the masses of the resulting peptides were determined by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. This tryptic mass map was used to identify the proteins through a search of a protein-sequence database. The identified proteins include important hormones, and enzymes with various catalytic activities. These proteins will be used to construct a two-dimensional reference database of the human pituitary. This database will be employed to study changes in the pituitary proteome that are associated with the formation of pituitary tumors. 相似文献

Analysis of hydroquinone and some of its ethers by using capillary electrochromatography 总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
Capillary electrochromatography (CEC) was used for the analysis of relevant compounds in cosmetic preparation. Hydroquinone (HQ) and some of its ethers (methyl-, dimethyl-, benzyl-, phenyl-, propyl-HQ derivatives) were analyzed by using an octadecylsilica (ODS) stationary phase packed in fused-silica capillary (100 microm I.D.; 30 cm and 21.5 cm total and effective lengths, respectively). 20 mM Ammonium acetate pH 6-acetonitrile (50-70%) were the mobile phases used for the experiments. The acetonitrile (ACN) content strongly influenced the resolution of the studied compounds as well as the efficiency and the retention factor. Baseline resolution for the studied analytes was achieved at both the lowest and the highest percentage of ACN, the last one providing the shortest analysis time. Mobile phase containing 70% of ACN was therefore used for the analysis of an extract of skin-toning cream declared to contain HQ. Good repeatability of both retention times, peak areas and peak areas ratio (Asample/Ainternational standard) was found. The calibration graphs were linear in the concentration range studied (5-90 microg/ml) with correlation coefficients between 0.9975 and 09991. The analysis of the cosmetic preparation revealed the presence of HQ (1.72%, w/w) and of two additional peaks (not identified). 相似文献

We study oscillatory and chaotic reaction fronts described by the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation coupled to different types of fluid motion. We first apply a Poiseuille flow on the fronts inside a two-dimensional slab. We show regions of period doubling transition to chaos for different values of the average speed of Poiseuille flow. We also analyze the effects of a convective flow due to a Rayleigh-Taylor instability. Here the front is a thin interface separating two fluids of different densities inside a two-dimensional vertical slab. Convection is caused by buoyancy forces across the front as the lighter fluid is under a heavier fluid. We first obtain oscillatory and chaotic solutions arising from instabilities intrinsic to the front. Then, we determine the changes on the solutions due to fluid motion. 相似文献

More than 300 different protein post‐translational modifications are currently known, but only a few have been extensively investigated because modified proteoforms are commonly present in sub‐stoichiometry amount. For this reason, improvement of specific enrichment techniques is particularly useful for the proteomic characterization of post‐translationally modified proteins. Enrichment proteomic strategies could help the researcher in the challenging issue to decipher the complex molecular cross‐talk existing between the different factors influencing the cellular pathways. In this review the state of art of the platforms applied for the enrichment of specific and most common post‐translational modifications, such as glycosylation and glycation, phosphorylation, sulfation, redox modifications (i.e. sulfydration and nitrosylation), methylation, acetylation, and ubiquitinylation, are described. A combination of gradient reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP/HPLC) with a radioreceptor assay detector that uses two ligands is used to obtain effectively the metabolic profile of endogenous receptoractive opioid peptides in the canine pituitary and in seven selected brain regions including the hypothalamus, caudate nucleus, mid-brain, amygdala, thalamus, pons-medulla, and the hippocampus. Gradient RP/HPLC separates a mixture of endogenous peptides over a wide range of hydrophobicities. A novel opioid preparation from canine limbic system synaptosomes is utilized in a radioreceptorassay screen; tritiated etorphine (ET) or D-2ala, D-5leuleucine enkephalin (DADL) is used as the competitively displaced ligand. This receptor-rich preparation contains several receptor types, and thus serves well as a screen with the required low level of specificity. Subsequent analysis with other detectors of high specificity (MS, RIA) will follow this screen in other studies. Etorphine interacts with several of the opioid peptide-preferring receptors, whereas DADL is more specific towards the delta receptor that preferentially binds the smaller pentapeptides of the enkephalin family. The highest amount of peptide receptor activity found in this study is in the pituitary tissue, a smaller amount in the hypothalamus and caudate nucleus, and still lower amounts in the other five brain tissue extracts. This variation in peptide concentration most probably reflects three separate factors that operate in this biologic system: differential tissue-specific processing patterns of the large peptide precursors; distribution of the three opioid peptide systems; and the receptor preparation and the radioligand used in the assay. The radiolysis of aqueous benzene solutions was carried out at 35 °C, 45 °C, 55 °C, and 65 °C. The results, obtained by coupling HPLC and GC separations, showed that the yields of all the radiolysis products increased with temperature. However, the comparison of the results must be limited to those compounds that are formed exclusively in aqueous solutions. It was found that the increase of the relative concentrations of the products with the temperature followed the order: nitrobenzene>phenol>o-nitrophenol >p-nitrophenol. 相似文献
