Squeezed states and uncertainty relations since 1991

A brief review of the history of ten workshops/conferences on “Squeezed States and Uncertainty Relations” and main achievements in the related fields of quantum physics for the period from 1991 to 2007 are presented.     

Tetraphenylantimony carboxylates in the cascade Pd-catalyzed C-phenylation reaction of methyl acrylate in the presence of peroxide

Tetraphenylantimony(V) carboxylates have been used in the palladium-catalyzed C-phenylation reaction of methyl acrylate in the presence of (PhCO₂)₂ or t-BuOOH under mild conditions (50 °C). The peroxides promote a cascade participation of the organoantimony compound and result in the transfer of three phenyl groups. Organoantimony intermediates have been isolated from the reaction.

Oxygen activation on metallic centers and oxidizing abilities of such oxygen

It was shown that metallcontaining peroxides such as XOOOBu-t [X = (t-BuO)₂Al, (t-BuO)₃Ti] generate molecular oxygen in the electron-excited singlet state (¹O₂). These ozonides and η²-peroxocomplex Ph₃Bi(η²O₂) demonstrate high oxidative activity towards some classes of organic substances under mild conditions (20 °C).     

One-step synthesis of the chelate oxides of bis(trialkylantimony) by an oxidative method

The chelate oxides of bis(trimethylantimony) (Me₃SbL¹)₂O (i = 1 or 2, L¹-acetylacetonate, L² - trifluoroacetylacetonate) and bis(triethylantimony) (Et₃SbL¹)₂O have been obtained in 79–85% yields by a one-step oxidation of trialkylantimony withtertbutylhydroperoxide in the presence of -diketones in benzene at 20 °C.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Reaction of Unsaturated Esters with the Oxidative System Aluminum Tri-tert-Butoxide-tert-Butyl Hydroperoxide

Unsaturated esters containing double bonds in the acyl (methyl acrylate) or in the alcohol (vinyl and allyl acetates) fragments are cleaved under mild conditions (20°C) by the system aluminum tri-tert-butoxide-tert-butyl hydroperoxide to give tert-butyl esters of peroxycarboxylic acids and unsymmetrical aluminum alkoxides. The double bond in the acyl fragment is inert to this oxidation system. Vinyloxy- and allyloxy derivatives are oxidized to hydroxyethanal and (hydroxymethyl)oxirane, respectively. Carbonhydrogen bonds are oxidized only in allyl acetate.     

Reactions of poly(methyl methacrylate) radicals with some <Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis>-quinones in the presence of tri-<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>-butylboron in methyl methacrylate polymerization

The polymerization of methyl methacrylate initiated by dicyclohexyl peroxydicarbonate at 30 °C was studied in the presence of tri-n-butylboron and a series of quinones, namely, p-benzoquinone, chloranil, and 2,5-di-tert-butyl-p-benzoquinone, whose concentration changed from 0.25 to 2.00 mol.%. The initial polymerization rate and molecular weight of poly(methyl methacrylate) depend on the structure and concentration of quinone. The growth radicals react with p-benzoquinone and chloranil predominantly at the C=C bond, while they react at the C=O bond of 2,5-di-tert-butyl-p-benzoquinone. The terminal stable oxygen-centered radicals that formed react with alkylborane, terminating reaction chains and generating alkyl radicals into the bulk. Estimates for L p -norms of simple partial fractions

We obtain estimates for L _p -norms of simple partial fractions in terms of their L _r -norms on bounded and unbounded segments of the real axis for various p > 1 and r > 1 (S. M. Nikolskii type inequalities). We adduce examples and remarks concerning sharpness of the inequalities and area of their application.
