Five metals (Zn, Cu, Ni, Ti, and Mo) were irradiated with 150 shots of a Q-switched Nd:YAG pulsed laser in a vacuum of 10−3 torr. The ions projected out of the laser-produced plasma (LPP) plume were detected by CR-39 detectors positioned at −15°, 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90° with respect to the target-surface normal at a distance of 5 cm from the target in each case. The angular distribution of LPP ions, which is characterized by the exponent n of cosn θ distribution, is given by n = 2.5-11 for the five target metals. The value of the exponent n has no systematic correlation with the square-root of atomic mass of the target metals but exhibits systematic dependence on the room temperature Debye-Waller's thermal parameter B or the mean-square amplitude of atomic vibrations 〈u2〉. Likewise, the ablation yield (atoms/shot) of the twelve target metals investigated by Thestrup et al. (2002) [8] under identical irradiation conditions is a function of the room temperature B-factor or 〈u2〉.  相似文献

We report here the Mössbauer measurements on nanocrystalline perovskite structured manganite La0.8Sr0.2Mn0.8Fe0.19 57Fe0.01O3 as a function of pressure up to 10 GPa at room temperature. The nanocrystalline sample, prepared by sol–gel technique found to have crystallite sizes of ∼138 ± 10 Å. Zero-field electrical resistivity measurements with temperature support the nanocrystalline nature. At ambient pressure, Fe3+ as well as Fe4+ ions are distributed in two different environments – Fe3+ in low symmetric site surrounded by Mn3+ ions only while Fe4+ in high symmetric site with at least one Mn3+ ion. Pressure seems to affect the higher symmetric site. A sudden increase in isomer shift at 0.52 GPa indicates the first order phase transition representing the transformation of Fe4+ to Fe3+. Another transition at 3.7 GPa, represents the presence of Fe3+ in single kind of environment. Pressure dependence of electrical resistivity measurements verifies the transitions attributing the first order transition to the cross over of localized-electron to band magnetism.  相似文献

We report an eco‐friendly synthesis of α‐Cr2O3 nanoparticles (NPs) using Callistemon viminalis (Bottle Brush) flower extracts as an efficient reducing and capping agent. NPs of sizes 15 nm and 17 nm were synthesized by annealing them at 400°C and 500°C, respectively, which were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, UV–Vis, Fourier transform‐infrared, high‐resolution‐transmission electron microscopy/scanning electron microscopy, SAED, energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy and SQUID. Microplate‐based assay was used for examining antibacterial potential against 12 pathogenic bacterial strains, and their minimum inhibitory concentrations were calculated. MTT cytotoxic assay was accomplished on Leishmania tropica amastigotes and promastigotes, which revealed IC50 values of 44 μg/ml and 10.56 μg/ml, respectively. An IC50 value of 46.32 μg/ml was obtained for HepG2 cancer cells. Enzyme inhibition studies indicated good acetylcholinesterase, moderate butyrylcholinesterase and low alpha‐glucosidase inhibition. Hemolytic assay indicated hemocompatibility at low concentration. In addition, good DPPH radical scavenging and moderate reducing power and total antioxidant potential was revealed by α‐Cr2O3 NPs.  相似文献

The phase transformation in nano‐crystalline dysprosium sesquioxide (Dy2O3) under high pressures is investigated using in situ Raman spectroscopy. The material at ambient was found to be cubic in structure using X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy, while atomic force microscope (AFM) showed the nano‐crystalline nature of the material which was further confirmed using XRD. Under ambient conditions the Raman spectrum showed a predominant cubic phase peak at 374 cm−1, identified as Fg mode. With increase in the applied pressure this band steadily shifts to higher wavenumbers. However, around a pressure of about 14.6 GPa, another broad band is seen to be developing around 530 cm−1 which splits into two distinct peaks as the pressure is further increased. In addition, the cubic phase peak also starts losing intensity significantly, and above a pressure of 17.81 GPa this peak almost completely disappears and is replaced by two strong peaks at about 517 and 553 cm−1. These peaks have been identified as occurring due to the development of hexagonal phase at the expense of cubic phase. Further increase in pressure up to about 25.5 GPa does not lead to any new peaks apart from slight shifting of the hexagonal phase peaks to higher wavenumbers. With release of the applied pressure, these peaks shift to lower wavenumbers and lose their doublet nature. However, the starting cubic phase is not recovered at total release but rather ends up in monoclinic structure. A cold atomic medium(Rydberg medium) with cascade configuration under the blockade mechanism is considered. A partial coherent light(PCL) beam is incident on the medium, which makes an angle θ with z-axis. We study the influence of PCL field on the transmission spectrum and find high transmission of probe field for PCL field.Conversely, it is investigated that the transparency of probe field decrease for coherent light field. The transmission of probe field is also studied via beam width of PCL field and investigated high transmission of probe field for small beam width and vice versa. Interestingly, the Goos-H?nchen shift(GHS) in the transmitted light(TL) is studied for PCL field. Large negative and positive GHS in the TL are investigated for PCL field and small beam width of PCL field.  相似文献
