Simulation model for shapiro time delay and light deflection experiments

The time delay experiment proposed by I.I. Shapiro in 1964 and conducted in the seventies was the most precise experiment of general relativity until that time. Further experimentation has improved the accuracy level of both the time delay and the light deflection experiments. A simulation model is proposed that involves only a simple mass and time transformation factor involving velocity of light. The light deflection and the time delay experiments are numerically simulated using this model that does not use the general relativistic equations. The computed values presented in this paper compare well with recent levels of accuracy of their respective experimental results.     

Probabilistic analysis of redundant systems with human errors and common-cause failures

This paper presents two mathematical models representing three unit redundant systems with common cause failures and human errors. Reliability, steady state availability, mean time to failure (MTTF) and variance of time to failure formulas are developed for both models. Supplementary variables and Markov techniques were employed to obtain the resulting expressions. Reliability, availability, failure probability and MTTF plots are .shown     

Stochastic analysis of common systems with common-cause failures

This paper presents three newly developed Markov models for Identical unit parallel, k-out-of-n and standby arrangements with common-cause failures. 回转窑滚圈多轴疲劳寿命预测及与轴线偏移关系研究

结合轴线偏移情况开展回转窑滚圈多轴疲劳寿命研究,采用了Wang和Brown提出的多轴疲劳准则和雨流计数法及Miner准则进行累积损伤评估．回转窑运行轴线偏移会导致滚圈承受的支承载荷分布严重不均,因此引入载荷比来描述轴线偏移程度以进一步定量分析滚圈应力．采用有限元软件ANSYS进行了各载荷比下滚圈的接触应力分析,并根据滚动接触区域情况计算得到了切向摩擦应力．以某回转窑滚圈为分析对象,计算得到了随载荷比变化的疲劳寿命曲线,揭示了轴线偏移对滚圈疲劳寿命的影响规律．研究对减少滚圈疲劳失效有重要意义,同时也可作为轴线调整和优化调窑的理论依据．

Sum peak method applied to the study of decay of Ir-192

The electron capture probabilities to 690.70 and 580.37 keV levels and theK-conversion coefficients of 205.9 and 316.5 keV transitions in the decay of Ir-192 have been determined from the measurement of gamma-ray intensities in conjunction with an analysis of theKX-ray-γ-ray sum peaks observed with a co-axial HPGe detector. TheK-capture probability to 690.70 keV level was determined by an approach which is independent ofK-shell fluorescence yield and absolute detection efficiency forKX-rays. TheK-shell fluorescence yields of the daughter products, namely, Os and Pt of Ir-192 have also been determined by the same technique and were found to be 0.964±0.077 and 0.969±0.068 respectively.     

Application of the sum peak method to study perturbed angular correlation parameters as a function of pH value and gelatin concentration in the decay of160Dy

The - sum peak method based on the phenomenon of perturbed angular correlation has been applied to see the effect of chemical environment on the directional correlation coefficients of various cascades and to check the suitability of¹⁶⁰Tb as a probe. No change in sum peak intensity ratios for different pH and gelatin concentration values have been seen.
