In this article we compare the classical monopole mass filter of von Zahn and the monopole mass filter with a hyperbolic V-shaped electrode. The experimental results and those of computer simulation for both mass spectrometers are presented. We show that the replacement of a conventional 90 degrees V-shaped electrode by an electrode with a hyperbolic profile substantially improves the peak shape of any given mass, and increases the mass resolution by a factor of 3-4 and the abundance sensitivity by a factor of 100. The potential of high analytical performance combined with electroforming techniques for electrode manufacture indicate future practical uses of such instruments. The complex formation kinetics of aquated copper(II) ion reacting with 12 related tripodal ligands have been studied in aqueous solution at 25 degrees C, mu = 0.10 M (NaClO4). For most of the ligands studied, specific formation rate constants have been resolved for both the unprotonated and monoprotonated ligand species. All of the tripodal ligands included in this study contain a bridgehead amine nitrogen with the three legs consisting of 2-methylthioethyl or 2-ethylthioethyl and/or 2-pyridylethyl or 2-pyridylmethyl. Since the bridgehead nitrogen is too sterically hindered to participate in initial coordinate bond formation, the first bond must involve a thiaether sulfur or a pyridine nitrogen on one of the pendant legs followed by coordination to the bridgehead nitrogen to complete the first chelate ring. All kinetic data are interpreted in terms of this presumed sequence in the bond formation steps. For the two ligands in which all three pendant legs contain thiaether sulfur donor atoms, the rate-determining step appears to be at the point of second bond formation (chelate ring closure), although the distinction is not well defined. For all other unprotonated ligands, the kinetic behavior is consistent with the first-bond formation being rate-determining. Upon protonation, the rate-determining step appears to shift to the point of proton loss associated with second-bond formation in several cases. A particularly interesting observation is that the tripodal ligand tris(ethylthioethyl)amine (TEMEA) exhibits specific Cu(II) complex formation rate constants that are virtually identical to those for a closely related macrocyclic ligand, 1,4,8-trithia-11-azacyclotetradecane ([14]aneNS3), but the calculated CuIIL dissociation rate constants differ by a factor of 1000. A further comparison of the calculated dissociation rate constants for Cu(II)-tripodal ligand complexes indicates that a Cu(II)-N(pyridine) bond is approximately 10(4) times stronger than a Cu(II)-SR2 bond. This leads to the conclusion that a 1:1 Cu(II)-SR2 complex would have a predicted stability constant of about 0.04 M-1 in aqueous solution--the first estimate obtained for the strength of a single Cu(II)-S(thiaether) bond.  相似文献

DC magnetization, neutron depolarization and neutron diffraction (with both polarized and unpolarized neutrons) measurements have been reported for the Co1.1−x Zn x Ge0.1Fe1.2O1 spinels with x=0.5, 0.6 and 0.7. Neutron depolarization and neutron diffraction measurements confirm the presence of a long range ferrimagnetic ordering of the local canted spins in these ferrite samples. The observed features of low field magnetization have been explained under the framework of thermally activated domain wall movement of ferrimagnetic arrangement of local canted spins. An important role of magnetic anisotropy (due to the presence of Co2+ ions) in establishing the magnetic ordering and domain kinetics in these ferrites has been observed.  相似文献

A new ferrocenyl P,O ligand has been synthesized and successfully used in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction of phenylboronic acid with bromobenzene. Some analogues carrying charged (imidazolium) or neutral (monomethylether PEG 750, tetraethylbisphosphonate) polar substituents have been prepared by functionalization of a common synthetic intermediate easily obtained using bromoalcohol p-HOCH2(C6H4)CH2Br as bifunctional linker.  相似文献

As part of our interest in the synthesis and catalytic applications of chiral (diphenylphosphanyl)ferrocene ligands, we designed a number of P,N‐containing ligands for use in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation (ATH). During the synthetic procedure to obtain rac‐1‐[(N,4‐dimethylbenzenesulfonamido)methyl]‐2‐(diphenylphosphanyl)ferrocene, the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C26H25NO2PS)]0.55·[Fe(C5H5)(C26H25NO3PS)]0.45, was obtained as a by‐product. It is composed of a ferrocene group disubstituted by a partially oxidized diphenylphosphanyl group, as confirmed by 31P NMR analysis, and an (N,4‐dimethylbenzenesulfonamido)methyl substituent. Owing to the partially oxidized diphenylphosphanyl group, it is best to view the crystal as being composed of a mixture of non‐oxidized and oxidized phosphane, so it can be regarded as a cocrystal. It is also a racemate. To the best of our knowledge, the P=O distance [1.344 (4) Å] is the shortest observed for related (diphenylphosphoryl)ferrocene compounds. The packing is stabilized by weak C—H...O interactions, forming R22(10) hydrogen‐bonding motifs, which build up a chain along the c axis.  相似文献

Appearance energies of [M-H](-) ions from carbonyl compounds R-CO-R' (R,R' = H, CH(3), NH(2), OH) have been measured by means of negative ion mass spectrometry in resonant electron capture mode.
