Copper(salen) complex 1 has been found to catalyse the asymmetric alkylation of enolates derived from a variety of amino acids. There is a clear relationship between the size of the side chain in the substrate and the enantioselectivity of the process, so that the enantioselectivity decreases in the order alanine>aminobutyric acid>allylglycine>leucine>phenylalanine>valine. A transition state model which accounts for the influence of the size of the side chain on the enantioselectivity of the reactions is presented.  相似文献

Previously metal forming has been done using electromagnet in pulsed power mode, better known as magneform [1]. Here we will be presenting a different technique for metal forming. We are using water as a medium for this process. By discharging the stored electrical energy of the capacitor bank in water, we are getting the desired result i.e. to form (expand or compress) a wide range of workpiece to the desired shapes. The advantage of this method over conventional method is that it uses low power (negligible running cost). It does not require any post assembly cleaning degreasing and is hence environmentally ‘friendly’.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence spectroscopy could be used to detect Alzheimer's disease (AD) by brain tissue autofluorescence. Unfixed temporal cortex specimens from AD cases and age-matched, non-AD controls were frozen at autopsy and then thawed just prior to spectral measurement. Spectra of intrinsic tissue fluorescence induced by 647 nm light were recorded from 650 to 850 nm. We used principal component analysis of the tissue spectra from 17 AD cases and 5 non-AD control cases in a calibration study to establish a diagnostic algorithm. Retrospectively applied to the calibration set, the algorithm correctly classified 23 of 24 specimens. In a prospective study of 19 specimens from 5 AD brains and 2 non-AD control brains, 3 of the 4 control specimens and all AD specimens were correctly diagnosed. Both the excitation light used and the measured brain tissue autofluorescence are at NIR wavelengths that can propagate through skull and overlying tissue. Therefore, our results demonstrate an optical spectroscopic technique that carries direct molecular level information about disease. This is the first step toward a clinical tool that has the potential to be applied to the noninvasive diagnosis of AD in living patients.  相似文献

Adenosine-5'-phosphosulfate reductase (APSR) is an iron-sulfur protein that catalyzes the reduction of adenosine-5'-phosphosulfate (APS) to sulfite. APSR coordinates to a [4Fe-4S] cluster via a conserved CC-X(~80)-CXXC motif, and the cluster is essential for catalysis. Despite extensive functional, structural, and spectroscopic studies, the exact role of the iron-sulfur cluster in APS reduction remains unknown. To gain an understanding into the role of the cluster, density functional theory (DFT) analysis and extended X-ray fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS) have been performed to reveal insights into the coordination, geometry, and electrostatics of the [4Fe-4S] cluster. X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) data confirms that the cluster is in the [4Fe-4S](2+) state in both native and substrate-bound APSR while EXAFS data recorded at ~0.1 ? resolution indicates that there is no significant change in the structure of the [4Fe-4S] cluster between the native and substrate-bound forms of the protein. On the other hand, DFT calculations provide an insight into the subtle differences between the geometry of the cluster in the native and APS-bound forms of APSR. A comparison between models with and without the tandem cysteine pair coordination of the cluster suggests a role for the unique coordination in facilitating a compact geometric structure and "fine-tuning" the electronic structure to prevent reduction of the cluster. Further, calculations using models in which residue Lys144 is mutated to Ala confirm the finding that Lys144 serves as a crucial link in the interactions involving the [4Fe-4S] cluster and APS.  相似文献

We have developed a frequency-modulated, tunable, amplitude-squeezed, diode-laser-based source and used it to perform FM spectroscopy on rubidium. The setup consists of a free-running diode laser injection locked by a frequency-stabilized, current-modulated diode laser. The injection-locked slave laser beam adopted the frequency spectrum of the master laser beam while rejecting residual AM in the master laser beam by more than 50 dB. Injection locking also enhanced amplitude squeezing in the slave laser beam by suppressing uncorrelated longitudinal sidemodes. The noise floor of the measurement was 0.8 dB below the shot-noise level.  相似文献
