Growth as well as crystallographic and electronic properties of thin AlOx layers on Fe(110) were studied by means of low-energy electron diffraction and Auger-electron spectroscopy. Al layers of different thickness were deposited on Fe(110) and successfully oxidized to AlOx. The step-by-step oxidation of thin Al layers at room temperature leads to the formation of amorphous AlOx on top of the Fe(110) surface. A subsequent annealing at 250 °C of the oxidized 7-Å thick Al layer results in the formation of a well-ordered Al2O3(0001) layer on the Fe(110) surface. 相似文献
The Fe3O4(111)/graphene/Ni(111) trilayer is proposed to be used as an ideal spin‐filtering sandwich where the half‐metallic properties of magnetite are used. Thin magnetite layers on graphene/Ni(111) were prepared via successive oxidation of a thin iron layer predeposited on graphene/Ni(111) and the formed system was investigated by means of low‐energy electron diffraction and photoelectron spectroscopy. The electronic structure and structural quality of the graphene film sandwiched between two ferromagnetic layers remain unchanged upon magnetite formation as confirmed by experimental data.
Within the framework of the nonrelativistic fluctuation electromagnetic theory, relationships for the quadrupole-quadrupole contribution to the tangential and normal components of the force acting on a particle moving parallel to the polarizing surface are derived for the first time. Consideration is given to the cases when the particle possesses a permanent quadrupole moment or a fluctuation quadrupole moment and the surface is characterized by a local dielectric function. 相似文献
