We prove that directly reducible lattices and selfdual subdirectly irreducible lattices of locally finite length are determined by their sublattice-lattices. A background-free, fast protein staining method in polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis using an acidic dye, zincon (ZC) and a basic dye, ethyl violet (EV) is described. It is based on the counterion dye staining technique that employs two oppositely charged dyes to form an ion-pair complex in staining solution. The selective binding of free dye molecules to proteins in acidic solution produces bluish violet-colored bands. It is a rapid and end-point staining procedure, involving only fixing and staining steps that are completed in 1-1.5 h. The detection limit of this method is 8-15 ng of protein that is comparable to the sensitivity of the colloidal Coomassie Brilliant Blue G (CBBG) stain. Due to its sensitivity and speed, this stain may be more practical than any other dye-based stains for routine laboratory purposes. 相似文献

Frequency-domain electron nuclear double resonance (ENDOR), two time-domain electron nuclear double resonance techniques, and electron spin echo envelope modulation spectroscopy are compared with respect to their merit in measurements of small hyperfine couplings to nuclei with intermediate gyromagnetic ratio such as 31P. The frequency-domain Mims ENDOR experiment is found to provide the most faithful line shapes. In the limit of long electron-nuclear distances of more than 0.5 nm, sensitivity of this experiment is optimized by matching the first interpulse delay to the transverse relaxation time of the electron spins. In the same limit, Mims ENDOR efficiency scales inversely with the sixth power of distance. Hyperfine splittings as small as 33 kHz can be detected, corresponding to an electron-31P distance of 1 nm. In systems, where a certain kind of nuclei is distributed in a plane, measurements of intermolecular hyperfine couplings can be analyzed in terms of a distance of closest approach of a paramagnetic center to that plane. By applying this technique to spin-labeled lipids in a fully hydrated lipid bilayer it is found that for a fraction of lipids, chain tilt angles can be 25 degrees larger than the mean tilt angle of the lipid chains. This model of all-trans hydrocarbon chains with a broad distribution of tilt angles is also consistent with orientation selection effects in high-field ENDOR spectra. 相似文献

A good preconditioner is extremely important in order for the conjugate gradients method to converge quickly. In the case of Toeplitz matrices, a number of recent studies were made to relate approximation of functions to good preconditioners. In this paper, we present a new result relating the quality of the Toeplitz preconditionerC for the Toeplitz matrixT to the Chebyshev norm (f– g)/f, wheref and g are the generating functions forT andC, respectively. In particular, the construction of band-Toeplitz preconditioners becomes a linear minimax approximation problem. The case whenf has zeros (but is nonnegative) is especially interesting and the corresponding approximation problem becomes constrained. The interaction energy between vortices and the structure of the vortex lattice in superconducting layers is calculated. It is shown that the one-dimensional vortex lattice (with vortices in the centre of the layer) is stable in a relatively large interval of magnetic fields above the flux penetration field. This result is true not only for very thin layers (with dimensions smaller than the penetration depth), but also for layers withd>. The results can be helpful at explaining some unusual experimental results on Josephson effects in long superconducting bridges. 相似文献
