The subject of this paper is to explore the possibility to obtain 99mTc from activation of 98Mo, using the TRIGA Mark II low flux research reactor (Vienna, Austria). Irradiation of both natural and enriched in 98Mo molybdenum oxides was compared. Aims of this work included the determination of neutron fluxes and 98Mo(n, γ)99Mo reaction effective cross section in the TRIGA Mark II reactor irradiation channels, calculation of 99Mo specific activities, determination of optimal irradiation conditions for the subsequent 99mTc separation from MoO3 targets using concentrating technologies.  相似文献

A quartz crystal microbalance DNA biosensor based on plasma prepared polythiophene /titanium dioxide (PT/TiO2) nanocomposite was developed for the detection of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). DNA hybridization was studied by quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements. Single stranded DNA probes were immobilized on the PT/TiO2 coated quartz crystal electrode and the hybridization between the immobilized probe and the target complementary sequence in solution was monitored. The developed QCM-DNA biosensor represented promising results for a real-time, label-free, direct detection of DNA samples for the screening of genetically modified organisms.  相似文献

Although the number of research reactors (RRs) is steadily decreasing, more than half of the operational RRs are still heavily underutilized, and in most cases, underfunded. The decreasing and rather old fleet of RRs needs to ensure the provision of useful services to the community, in some cases with adequate revenue generation for reliable, safe and secure facility management and operations. Enhancement of low and medium power research reactor (RR) utilization is often pursued by increasing the neutron activation analysis (NAA) activities. In this paper we will present the strategy and concrete actions how NAA as one of the most popular RR applications can contribute to the above goals in particular through (a) RR coalitions and networks, (b) implementation of automation in different stages of NAA, (c) QA/QC, including skills improvement of involved personnel, (d) dedicated proficiency tests performed by a number of targeted analytical laboratories. We also show that despite the IAEA’s efforts, some of the NAA laboratories still perform badly in proficiency tests, do not have formal QA/QC procedures implemented, have not implemented automation to process large number of samples or lack of clear marketing strategies. Some concrete actions are proposed and outlined to address these issues in the near future.  相似文献

We calculate in-target production rates of radioactive nuclei in the case of single-stage spallation targets designed for EURISOL (European Isotope Separation On-Line Radioactive Ion Beam Facility). Using particle generation-transport codes, we estimate the isotopic distributions of the reaction products, in terms of their charge and mass numbers, for 320 configurations of cylindrical targets. For 11 elements of the highest priority (Li, Be, Ne, Mg, Ar, Ni, Ga, Kr, Sn, Hg, Fr) and 23 of their isotopes far from stability, this study helps in deciding which target configuration can be retained or discarded to reach the highest production rates.  相似文献

In this work, we propose an approximate homogenization-based constitutive model for estimating the effective response and associated microstructure evolution in viscoplastic (including ideally-plastic) porous media subjected to finite-strain loading conditions. The proposed model is based on the “second-order” nonlinear homogenization method, and is constructed in such a way as to reproduce exactly the behavior of a “composite-sphere assemblage” in the limit of hydrostatic loading and isotropic microstructure. However, the model is designed to hold for completely general three-dimensional loading conditions, leading to deformation-induced anisotropy, whose development in time is handled through evolution laws for the internal variables characterizing the instantaneous “ellipsoidal” state of the microstructure. In Part II of this study, results will be given for the instantaneous response and microstructure evolution in porous media for several representative loading conditions and microstructural configurations.  相似文献

A mass measurement experiment by a time of flight method with the SPEG spectrometer at GANIL has been performed to investigate the N=20 and N=28 shell closures far from stability. The masses of 31 neutron-rich nuclei in the range A=29–47 have been measured. The precision of 19 masses has been significantly improved and 12 masses were measured for the first time. The neutron-rich Cl, S and P isotopes are seen to exhibit a change in shell structure around N=28. Comparison with shell model and relativistic mean field calculations demonstrate that the observed effects arise from deformed prolate ground state configurations associated with shape coexistence. The evidence of an isomeric state in the 43S and its interpretation by a shell model calculation confirm the analysis of the masses and constitutes the first evidence of the predicted shape coexistence around N=28. The size effect in conical indentation of an elasto-plastic solid is predicted via the Fleck and Willis formulation of strain gradient plasticity (Fleck, N.A. and Willis, J.R., 2009, A mathematical basis for strain gradient plasticity theory. Part II: tensorial plastic multiplier, J. Mech. Phys. Solids, 57, 1045–1057). The rate-dependent formulation is implemented numerically and the full-field indentation problem is analyzed via finite element calculations, for both ideally plastic behavior and dissipative hardening. The isotropic strain-gradient theory involves three material length scales, and the relative significance of these length scales upon the degree of size effect is assessed. Indentation maps are generated to summarize the sensitivity of indentation hardness to indent size, indenter geometry and material properties (such as yield strain and strain hardening index). The finite element model is also used to evaluate the pertinence of the Johnson cavity expansion model and of the Nix–Gao model, which have been extensively used to predict size effects in indentation hardness.  相似文献
