We discuss the minimum problem of an SU(n) symmetric potential which has number of Higgs in fundamental, adjoint, second-rank symmetric and antisymmetric tensor representations. When there is only one scalar in the adjoint or tensor representation, the surviving symmetry cannot be chosen arbitrarily small by adjusting the parameters in the potential. When there is one more adjoint or tensor representation, the surviving symmetry after symmetry breaking can be diminished to nothing. However, when the two higher dimension representation scalars are diagonalized or quasi-diagonalized simultaneously at the local minimum, the surviving symmetry exists. We give the conditions for the existence of such a local minimum and its symmetry-breaking pattern. Our method is to transfer these problems to the relative orientation of vectors and the number of different eigenvalues.  相似文献

We argue that strong CP phase should be shifted to b and t quark masses due to the requirement of vacuum stability. The strong CP problem in low energy sector thus disappears. We predict large CP violation in electric dipole moment of W and heavy quarks.  相似文献

We discuss various CP violation effects of neutral B mesons within the framework of the standard model.We classify 28 hadronic two-body decay channels of neutral B mesons into four classes,each of them has different CP violation effects, that is,CP violation due to phase dif- ference between mixing elements M12 and Г12; due to that between mixing elements and decay amplitudes; due to CP phase in the pure particle decay amplitudes and the interplay of these sources .Cascade decays of these channels are also discussed where copious interference is taken into account .Results are given in re- phasing invariants of the K-M matrix .It is shown that CP violation effects might be large(tHe largest,10-1,but the CP asymmetry event branching cross section is small,at the order or approximate 10-5±1/2.  相似文献

In the weak basis with diagonalized up quark mass matrix and Hermitian down quark mass matrix, the sequential product of the off dingonal elements M12dM23dM31d is a phase-convention-independent quantity. The idea of using the argument of this product to define maximal CP violation is examined, along with other definitions. We study the mass of Weyl'a vector meson (WVM) Me in the model proposed by Hung Cheng. We find from cosmological constraints that Me should be. either extremely light as no greater than 400 eV, or extremely heavy ae much greater than Mp, corresponding to the Weyl's gauge coupling constant f to be f < l0-26 and f >> 1, respectively. We regard our results reasonable based on Dirac's large number theorem.  相似文献
