In the present work, we compare the influence introduced by the variation of water-to-cement ratio and the presence of different superplasticizers on the hydration process of gray cement using the low-field nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry. The stages of hydration are identified and a relationship between the ettringite formation during hydration process and the transverse relaxation time is established. It is also demonstrated that the addition of small amounts of superplasticizer in the cement paste significantly expands the dormant period while the hardening period is reduced. On the other side, the increase in the water-to-cement ratio has little influence on the dormant period but can instead increase the porosity of the sample and consequently reduce its strength.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: The isoflavonoid genistein represents the major active compound from soybean, the vegetalproduct from Glycine max (Fabaceae). The aim of this study is to prove that genistein wasincorporated in two semisynthetic cyclodextrins, beta-cyclodextrin derivatives:hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin and randomly-methylated-beta-cyclodextrin as well as to compare the anti-inflammatory activity of genistein with that of genistein incorporated inthese two types of semisynthetic cyclodextrins. RESULTS: The animal studies were conducted on 8-week old C57BL/6 J female mice. Inflammation wasinduced in both ears of each mouse by topical application of 10 micrograms 12-Otetradecanoylphorbol-3-acetate dissolved in 0.1 ml solvent (acetone : dimethylsulfoxide in amolar ratio 9:1). Thirty minutes later treatment was applied. The inflammatory reaction wascorrelated with increased values in ear thickness. Treatment with genistein and genisteinincorporated in the two cyclodextrins led to decreased values for ear thickness. Better antiinflammatoryaction was found for the complexes of genistein. Both haematoxylin-eosinanalysis and CD45 marker expression are in agreement with these findings. CONCLUSIONS: Results allow concluding that genistein is an active anti-inflammatory phytocompound andits complexation with hydrophilic beta-cyclodextrin derivatives leads to a stronger antiinflammatoryactivity.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Polymers have been considered as important materials in fabrication of microstructures for various medical purposes including drug delivery. This study evaluates polyurethane as material for hollow microstructures preparation. RESULTS: Polyurethane microstructures were obtained by interfacial polyaddition combined with spontaneous emulsification and present slightly acid pH values. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the existence of irregular shapes and agglomerated microstructures. The material is heat resistant up to 280 [DEGREE SIGN]C. Good results were recorded on murine skin tests in case of polyurethane microstructures based on isophorone diisocyanate. Mesenchymal stem cells viability presents good results for the same sample after 48 hours based on the Alamar Blue test. CONCLUSIONS: The research revealed the reduced noxiousness of this type of microstructures and consequently the possibility of their use for therapeutic purposes.  相似文献

A boron‐doped diamond electrode (BDDE) was used for the simultaneous anodic determination of L ‐ascorbic acid (AA) and acetaminophen (AC) in aqueous buffered media by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Linear calibration plots of anodic current peaks versus concentration were obtained for both analytes in the concentration range 0.01–0.1 mM with very high correlation coefficients. RSD of 2–3% and high sensitivities were obtained from DPV data in single and dicomponent systems. The potential applicability of the DPV technique associated with standard addition was illustrated by simultaneous determination of AA and AC in real sample solutions made up from pharmaceutical products.  相似文献

The Fourier transform Raman and IR spectra of betulin (lup‐20(29)‐ene‐3β,28‐diol) crystalline powder were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational wavenumbers and the corresponding vibrational assignments were theoretically studied using the Gaussian 03 package. The calculated vibrational wavenumbers with the B3LYP density functionals are generally consistent with the observed spectra. A complete vibrational characterization of betulin modes has been proposed here for the first time. Based on the vibrational analysis, two direct applications of the results have been described. It was shown that the outer bark of Betula Pendula Roth (the birch tree) contains betulin as a major component along with minor amounts of betulinic acid (BA), lupeol and other pentacyclic triterpenes derivatives. Since the major disadvantage of betulin is its low solubility, giving rise to serious problems in making pharmaceutical formulations, several guest–host type of complexes of betulin–cyclodextrins have been prepared and analyzed using FT‐Raman spectroscopy. Based on the vibrational analysis, it was concluded that the OH and CH2OH functional groups are free from chemical interactions with the cyclodextrin cavity. In the present work, we use fast field cycling (FFC) nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry to evaluate the influence introduced by the curing temperature on the hydration process of gray cement. The main advantage of FFC relaxometry as compared with other relaxation studies performed at a specific frequency is that it is sensitive to a wider range of molecular motions and better separates the surface and bulk contributions from the global measured relaxation rate. In the case of cement hydration, the relaxation process is dominated by the interaction of water protons with the paramagnetic centers located on the surface of cement grains. This allows us in the frame of a two-phase exchange model to monitor the temperature dependence of the transverse diffusional correlation time at the surface of cement grains. An increase of the surface diffusion coefficient of water molecules with the temperature was revealed. Another outcome is that the surface-to-volume ratio of capillary pores continuously increases during the early hydration and this process is strongly enhanced by rising the temperature.  相似文献

The synthesis and the structure of a new cryptand with 1,3,5-triphenylbenzene caps and pyridine rings in the chains are reported. Betulin and betulinic acid are pentacyclic triterpenes present in the bark of the birch tree and other vegetal sources. Quantitatively, in birch bark betulin is more significant than betulinic acid; therefore, birch can be a large and feasible source of raw material for betulin extraction. Betulin can be used as extracted or, after chemical modification, as a starting compound for its acid, betulinic acid, with both substances possessing various interesting pharmacological properties. The purpose of this study is to analyse the betulin and betulinic acid content of a birch tree bark extract, as well as its cytotoxic activity. The extraction was done using a Soxhlet extractor and chloroform/dichlormethane/methanol (1?:?1?:?1) as solvent. The betulin and betulinic acid content of the extract was estimated using standards of pure betulin and betulinic acid, by thermal analysis as opposed to pure substance (thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis). The extract and the main compounds were also analysed by NMR. The results indicated a high amount of betulin in the final extract (up to 50%), and an important quantity of betulinic acid: over 3%. The cytotoxic activity indicated a high proliferation inhibition for the birch tree extract but was still comparable with betulinic acid and betulin.  相似文献
