A new bifunctional catalyst for tandem Heck-asymmetric dihydroxylation of olefins

A new bifunctional catalyst consisting of active palladium and osmium species anchored on silica gel through a mercaptopropyl spacer and a cinchona alkaloid respectively has been prepared for the first time and used in the heterogeneous tandem Heck-asymmetric dihydroxylation of olefins to afford diols with excellent yields and enantiomeric excesses (ee's) in presence of N-methylmorpholine N-oxide or K3Fe(CN)6 as cooxidants.     

Conversion of Primary Amines to N,N′-Disubstituted Ureas Using Montmorillonitebipyridinepalladium(II)-acetate and Di-Tert Butyl Peroxide

A simple and convenient methodology for the synthesis of N,N′-disubstituted ureas from primary amines by a heterogenized catalyst montmorillonitebipyridinepalladium (II)acetate for the first time at room temperature and atmospheric pressure is described.     

Nanoparticle supported bis (cyclopentadienyl) zirconium dichloride catalysts for styrene polymerization

Heterogeneous nanoparticle NA-MgO-MAO/NA-TiO₂ (anatase)-MAO supported bis (cyclopentadienyl) zirconium dichloride (Cp₂ZrCl₂) are synthesized and used for the polymerization of styrene monomer. The supporting process is confirmed via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and FTIR. Characterization of the obtained polymer is done by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), ¹³C NMR spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).     

Tight and Scalable Side-Channel Attack Evaluations through Asymptotically Optimal Massey-like Inequalities on Guessing Entropy

The bounds presented at CHES 2017 based on Massey’s guessing entropy represent the most scalable side-channel security evaluation method to date. In this paper, we present an improvement of this method, by determining the asymptotically optimal Massey-like inequality and then further refining it for finite support distributions. The impact of these results is highlighted for side-channel attack evaluations, demonstrating the improvements over the CHES 2017 bounds.     

A novel palladium-induced epimerization of steroid alcohols—a single-step synthesis of epimeric alcohols

The epimerization of steroid alcohols is induced by the Pd(PPh₃)₄-p-benzoquinone system. A convenient method for the synthesis of epicholesterol is described.     

Associated and single iron ions in ion-exchanged faujasite zeolites

Different forms of extraframework ions present in faujasite zeolite prepared by Fe²⁺ ion exchange at different pH values and with subsequent reduction in hydrogen have been studied. “Low-coordination” Fe_tetr ²⁺ ions can be found either in the form of single ions accessible for chemisorption, or in the form of ion associations from which centers of the catalytic processes can be formed in the CO+H₂ reaction. “High-coordination” Fe_oct ²⁺ ions are not affected either by chemisorption or by CO+H₂ treatment.
