Some polishing experiments have been carried out on copper anodes in a hyperbolic cell designed by Gilmont and Walton, using orthophosphoric acid as the electrolyte. The results obtained have been compared to those obtained in similar experiments in a Hull cell. It has been found that very similar bands of different reflectivity and polishes are found to form in both the cells. These bands shift with time and a study of such displacements has been made. The results are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The bicyclic triaminophosphine P(RNCH(2)CH(2))(3)N (R = i-Bu, 1c) serves as an effective promoter for the room-temperature stereoselective synthesis of α,β-unsaturated esters, fluorides, and nitriles from a wide array of aromatic, aliphatic, heterocyclic, and cyclic aldehydes and ketones, using a range of Wadsworth-Emmons (WE) phosphonates. Among the analogues of 1c [R = Me (1a), i-Pr (1b), Bn (1d)], 1a and 1b performed well, although longer reaction times were involved, and 1d led to poorer yields than 1c. Functionalities such as cyano, chloro, bromo, methoxy, amino, ester, and nitro were well tolerated. We were able to isolate and characterize (by X-ray means; see above) the reactive WE intermediate species formed from 2b and 1c.  相似文献

In this paper, we report for the first time finite size effects on Néel temperature (T N) of magnetoelectric BiFeO3 system. Novel wet chemical route has been developed to produce fine particles of BiFeO3 with controlled size and size distribution. Unlike other oxide systems, lattice volume contraction has been observed with decrease in particle size. The decrease in T N is co-related to unit cell volume contraction occurring with reduction in particle size.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline metal oxides, MgO, CuO, ZnO, TiO2 as catalysts or catalyst supports have been received much attention in the recent years, especially nanocrystalline magnesium oxide (NAP-MgO) has been used as a recyclable catalyst for Wittig, Wadsworth–Emmons, aza-Michael, Baylis–Hillman, Strecker, Aldol, Claisen-Schmidt condensation and other useful organic reactions. In general, it is reported that nanocrystalline magnesium oxide shows better activity in many organic reactions. These high reactivities are due to high surface areas combined with unusually reactive morphologies. The nanomaterials were also explored as supports to make supported metal catalysts for the organic reactions. The higher activity of these catalysts was studied partly to understand the mechanism of the reaction, the putative reaction pathways were preliminarily presented with the help of spectroscopic support, XPS, silicon, and phosphorus NMR spectroscopy. The catalysts are recovered and reused for several cycles. These catalytic systems are expected to contribute to the development of benign chemical processes.  相似文献

Herein we report that tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) is a very efficient catalyst for the addition of trialkylsilylalkynes to aldehydes, ketones, and trifluoromethyl ketones in THF solvent at room temperature. The reaction conditions are mild and operationally simple, and a variety of aryl functional groups, such as chloro, trifluoromethyl, bromo, and fluoro groups, are tolerated. Impressively, using our protocol, useful CF(3)-bearing tertiary propargylic alcohols can be synthesized. Product yields are generally better than or comparable to those in the literature. 1-Phenyl-2-trimethylsilyl acetylene, trimethyl ((4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)ethynyl)silane, 1-trimethylsilyl-1-hexyne, and trimethyl(thiophen-3-ylethynyl)silane underwent clean conversion to their corresponding propargylic alcohols as products under our conditions. Heterocyclic carbonyl compounds, such as furan-3-carboxaldehyde, thiophene-3-carboxaldehyde, and 2-pyridyl ketone, gave good yields of propargylic alcohols.  相似文献

In continuation of our previous work,1–2 the effects of polishing time, sp. gr. of the electrolyte, addition of EDTA, electrolyte level, etc., on the position, size and shape of the variously polished bands obtained in a Hull cell have now been studied. I–V measurement when carried out showed that total cell voltage increases regularly with total cell current, thereby affording no explanation for the variously polished bands. However, with a specially designed probe electrode,3 it has been possible to study the current distribution as existing during polarisation at different points of the anode surface and thus offer some explanation for the appearance of variously polished bands which could not be interpreted earlier in terms of electrode potentials.  相似文献
