The phase behavior and crystallization of graft copolymers consisting of poly(n‐hexyl methacrylate) (PHMA) as an amorphous main chain and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) as crystallizable side chains (HMAx with 15 ≤ x ≤ 73, where x represents the weight percentage of PEG) were investigated. Small‐angle X‐ray scattering profiles measured above the melting temperature of PEG suggested that a microdomain structure with segregated PHMA and PEG domains was formed in HMA40 and HMA46. This phase behavior was qualitatively described by a calculated phase diagram based on the mean‐field theory. Because of the segregation of PEG into microdomains, the crystallization temperature of the PEG side chains in HMAx was higher than that in poly(methyl acrylate)‐graft‐poly(ethylene glycol) having a similar value of x, which was considered to be in a disordered state above the melting temperature. In HMAx with x ≤ 40, PEG crystallization was strongly restricted, probably because the PEG microdomains were isolated in the PHMA matrix. As a result, the growth of PEG spherulite was not observed because the PEG crystallization occurred after vitrification of the PHMA segregated domains. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 1,1-Dichloro-2-vinylcyclopropane ( Ia ), 1,1-dichloro-2-methyl-2-vinylcyclopropane ( Ib ), 1,1,2-trichloro-2-vinylcyclopropane ( Ic ) were prepared from the corresponding dienes and chloroform in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst (PTC), R4N+Cl?. Monomers Ia – Ic underwent a clean 1,5-type radical ring-opening process to afford the corresponding polymers in good yield. Further, the relative rate of polymerization and reaction of ( I ) with thiophenol were studied.  相似文献

Technical problems in the design and construction of small sample adiabatic calorimeters are pointed out and solutions to them discussed. Two calorimeters constructed on the design principle are described with illustrative examples of data obtained with them. The free-radical-induced reactions of cyclohexene oxide in the presence of maleic anhydride have been found to lead to polyether in presence of AIBN and to a mixture of polyether, ester, and maleic anhydride adduct of polyether with di-tert-butyl peroxide (DTBP), the amounts of the mixture components depending on the concentration of DTBP and the temperature. Analogous reactions in the presence of succinic anhydride lead to no polyether. The obtained polyether has no hydroxyl group. The reaction appears to consist of three different steps, radical initiation, cationic propagation, and radical termination.  相似文献

Photophysical and (photo)electrochemical properties of a coumarin dye   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A new coumarin dye, cyano-{5,5-dimethyl-3-[2-(1,1,6,6-tetramethyl-10-oxo-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-1H,4H,10H-11-oxa-3a-aza-benzo[de]anthracen-9-yl)vinyl]cyclohex-2-enylidene}-acetic acid (NKX-2753), was prepared and characterized with respect to photophysical and electrochemical properties. It was employed as a dye sensitizer in dye-sensitized solar cells and showed efficient photon-to-electron conversion properties. The photocurrent action spectrum exhibited a broad feature with a maximum incident photon-to-electron conversion efficiency (IPCE) of 84% at 540 nm, which is comparable to that for the famous red dye RuL2(NCS)2 (known as N3), where L stands for 2,2'-bipyridyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid. The sandwich-type solar cell with NKX-2753, under illumination of full sun (AM1.5, 100 mW cm(-2)), produced 16.1 mA cm(-2) of short-circuit photocurrent, 0.60 V of open-circuit photovoltage, and 0.69 of fill factor, corresponding to 6.7% of overall energy conversion efficiency using 0.1 M LiI, 0.05 M I2, 0.1 M guanidinium thiocyanate, and 0.6 M 1,2-dimethyl-3-n-propyl-imidazolium iodide in dry acetonitrile as redox electrolyte. In comparison with its analogue NKX-2586 (Langmuir 2004, 20, 4205), NKX-2753 with an extra side ring on the alkene chain produced much higher IPCE values at the same conditions. The side ring acted as a spacer to efficiently prevent dye aggregation when adsorbed on the TiO2 surface, resulting in significant improvements of short-circuit photocurrent, open-circuit photovoltage, and fill factor compared with NKX-2586 that aggregated on the TiO2 surface.  相似文献

Ethanol was found to give a metastable crystalline phase (crystal-II) when the liquid was cooled at a moderate rate. Glassy states of liquid and of newly found crystal-II were obtained in the calorimeter cell by controlling the cooling rate of the liquid. The heat capacities of these phases as well as that of the stable crystal-I were measured by an adiabatic calorimeter in the temperature range between 14 and 300 K. The glass transition temperature Tg, the heat-capacity jump at Tg, and the residual entropy were found to be 97 K, 35.3 J K?1 mol?1, and 8.93 J K?1 mol?1 for the glassy liquid, and 97 K, 22.8 J K?1 mol?1, and 4.24 J K?1 mol?1 for the glassy crystal-II, respectively. The values for the residual entropy are referred to the third-law entropy for crystal-I.The heat capacities reported previously for the supercooled liquid by Gibson et al. and by Parks and Kelley agree well with those for the metastable crystal-II. Those of the supercooled liquid connect smoothly with those obtained for the liquid above the melting temperature. Thus, ethanol is found to be another example of a low-molecular-weight compound which shows multiple glass-transition phenomena.  相似文献

A metal‐free acetylide was observed by using NMR spectroscopy. Metal‐free acetylides are closely related to reactive intermediates (carbanions) in solution; therefore, they have been regarded as unobservable species. However, we generated this highly reactive and unstable species through the deprotonation of phenylacetylene by using the strong nonmetallic phosphazene base tBu‐P4. In the presence of tBu‐P4, the J coupling between the ethynyl carbon and hydrogen nuclei (1JC,H) of phenylacetylene disappeared; this indicates the deprotonation of the alkyne terminal. Furthermore, a large low‐field shift (approximately 90 ppm) of the alkyne carbon resonance was observed. We concluded that we have observed a metal‐free carbanion with a formal charge on an sp‐hybridized carbon atom for the first time.  相似文献
