Two conformational isomers of 3-fluorobenzoic acid dimer (3-FBA(2)) have been identified in a supersonic jet expansion by use of laser-induced fluorescence excitation (FE), UV-UV hole-burning, and dispersed fluorescence (DF) spectroscopic methods. In the FE spectrum, the S(1) origins of the two isomeric species appear at a frequency gap of only 24 cm(-1), and the vibronic intensities of the redshifted dimer (dimer I) are about two times weaker than those of dimer II. However, ab initio quantum chemistry calculations at the MP2/6-31G(**) level of theory predict that all the isomeric species of 3-FBA(2) have almost the same binding energy (approximately 17 kcal/mol) in the ground state. Furthermore, unlike benzoic acid dimer, the present system shows intense activity for a low-frequency mode in both the FE and DF spectra. With the aid of DFT (B3LYP/6-311G(**)) predicted normal mode frequencies, we have assigned the mode to the in-plane gear (cogwheel) vibration of the cyclic hydrogen-bonded frame of the dimer. The Franck-Condon profiles for vibronic excitation of the mode indicate that the distortion of the cyclic hydrogen bond frame as a result of S(1)<--S(0) excitation is larger for dimer I than dimer II. Moreover, the fluorescence lifetime at the S(1) zero-point level of the former is also significantly smaller than the latter. Using the predictions of configuration interaction singles calculations, we have proposed that the spectral and dynamical differences between the two isomeric species observed in this study are manifestations of the different characteristics of their S(1) surfaces. By measuring FE, DF, and hole-burning spectra of a mixed dimer between 3-fluobenzoic acid and benzoic acid we have shown that the isomeric features in the homodimer spectra are due to two locally excited rotamers of the 3-fluorobenzoic acid moiety.  相似文献

Aromatic ring amination reactions in the ruthenium complex of 2-(phenylazo)pyridine is described. The substitutionally inert cationic brown complex [Ru(pap)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (1) (pap = 2-(phenylazo)pyridine) reacts smoothly with aromatic amines neat and in the presence of air to produce cationic and intense blue complexes [Ru(HL(2))(3)](ClO(4))(2) (2) (HL(2) = 2-[(4-(arylamino)phenyl)azo]pyridine). These were purified on a preparative TLC plate. The X-ray structure of the new and representative complex 2c has been solved to characterize them. The results are compared with those of the starting complex, [Ru(pap)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (1). The transformation 1 --> 2 involves aromatic ring amination at the para carbon (with respect to the diazo function) of the pendant phenyl rings of all three coordinated pap ligands in 1. The transformation is stereoretentive, and the amination reaction is regioselective. The extended ligand HL(2) coordinates as a bidentate ligand and chelates to ruthenium(II) through the pyridine and one of the azo nitrogens. The amine nitrogen of this bears a hydrogen atom and remains uncoordinated. Similarly, the amination reaction on the mixed-ligand complex [Ru(pap)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4))(2) produces the blue complex [Ru(HL(2))(bpy)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (3) as anticipated. The reactions of [RuCl(2)(dmso)(4)] and [Ru(S)(2)(L)(2)](2+) (dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide, S = labile coordinated solvent, L = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) and pap) with the preformed HL(2) ligand have been explored. The structure of the representative complex [RuCl(2)(HL(2a))(2)] (5a) is reported. It has the chlorides in trans configuration while the pyridine as well as azo nitrogens are in cis geometry. Optical spectra and redox properties of the newly synthesized complexes are reported. All the ruthenium complexes of HL(2) are characterized by their intense blue solution colors. The lowest energy transitions in these complexes appear near 600 nm, which have been attributed to intraligand charge-transfer transitions. For example, the lowest energy visible range transition in [Ru(HL(2b))(3)](2+) appears at 602 nm and its intensity is 65 510 M(-1) cm(-1). All the tris chelates show multiple-step electron-transfer processes. In [Ru(HL(2))(3)](2+), six reductions waves constitute the complete electron-transfer series. The electrons are believed to be added successively to the three azo functions. In the mixed-ligand chelates [Ru(HL(2))(pap)(2)](2+) and [Ru(HL(2))(bpy)(2)](2+) the reductions due to HL(2), pap, and bpy are observed.  相似文献

A new efficient methodology has been developed for the synthesis of para-alkoxyphenols, an important group of anti-melanoma compounds, by heating alcoholic solutions of para-benzoquinones in the presence of amberlyst-15. The most notable feature here is the behaviour of the used primary or secondary alcohol as an effective reducing agent.  相似文献

In this work, we have considered Kaluza-Klein Cosmology for anisotropic universe where the universe is filled with Variable Modified Chaplygin Gas (VMCG). Here we find normal scalar field ? and the self interacting potential V(?) to describe the VMCG Cosmology. We have also graphically analyzed the geometrical parameters named Statefinder Parameters in anisotropic Kaluza-Klein model. Next, we have considered a Kaluza-Klein model of interacting VMCG with dark matter in the Einstein gravity framework. Here we construct the three dimensional autonomous dynamical system of equations for this interacting model with the assumption that the dark energy and the dark matter interacts between themselves and for that we also choose the interaction term. We convert that interaction term to its dimensionless form and perform stability analysis and solve them numerically. We obtain a stable scaling solution of the equations in Kaluza-Klein model and graphically represent solutions.  相似文献

We have recently constructed a “DNA strut” consisting of two DNA-binding hairpin polyamides of Dervan-type connected via a long flexible linker and were able to show that this strut can be used to sequence-selectively connect DNA helices. This approach provides a second structural element (besides the Watson–Crick base pairing) for the assembly of higher-order DNA nanoarchitectures from smaller DNA building blocks. Since none of the existing analytical techniques for studying this kind of system were found suitable for detection and quantification of the formation of the resulting complexes, we chose fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS). In the present study we show that FCS allowed us in a versatile and fast way to investigate the binding of Dervan polyamides to DNA. In particular it also shows its power in the quantitative detection of the formation of multimeric complexes and the in investigation of binding under nonphysiological conditions. The DielsAlder reaction was applied to 4,5‐epoxymorphinan opioids to generate a novel aromatic cycloadduct at C(7) C(8): Thermolytic cleavage of sultine 8 produced the reactive diene o‐quinodimethane 7 which condensed favorably with codeine ( 11 ), but not with codeinone ( 9 ) or 14‐hydroxycodeinone ( 10 ), producing the desired tetrahydronaphtho adduct 12 with (7R,8R) geometry (Scheme). The configuration of the cycloadduct was determined by 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR experiments. The unanticipated reactivity of these codeine derivatives was investigated by quantum‐mechanical calculations, and it was determined that steric effects of the 6‐keto and 14‐hydroxy group likely precluded condensation by raising the molecular energy of their respective transition states.  相似文献

The vibrational level splitting in the ground electronic state of carboxylic acid dimers mediated by the doubly hydrogen-bonded networks are investigated using pure and mixed dimers of benzoic acid with formic acid as molecular prototypes. Within the 0-2000-cm(-1) range, the frequencies for the fundamental and combination vibrations of the two dimers are experimentally measured by using dispersed fluorescence spectroscopy in a supersonic jet expansion. Density-functional-theory calculations predict that most of the dimer vibrations are essentially in-phase and out-of-phase combinations of the monomer modes, and many of such combinations show significantly large splitting in vibrational frequencies. The infrared spectrum of the jet-cooled benzoic acid dimer, reported recently by Bakker et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 119, 11180 (2003)], has been used along with the dispersed fluorescence spectra to analyze the coupled g-u vibrational levels. Assignments of the dispersed fluorescence spectra of the mixed dimer are suggested by comparing the vibronic features with those in the homodimer spectrum and the predictions of density-functional-theory calculation. The fluorescence spectra measured by excitations of the low-lying single vibronic levels of the mixed dimer reveal that the hydrogen-bond vibrations are extensively mixed with the ring modes in the S1 surface.  相似文献

Reactions of MCl(3).3H(2)O (M = Rh and Ru) with the ligand 2-[(2-N-arylamino)phenylazo]pyridine [HL(1); NH(4)C(5)N=NC(6)H(4)N(H)C(6)H(4)(H) (HL(1a)), NH(4)C(5)N=NC(6)H(4)N(H)C(6)H(4)(CH(3)) (HL(1b)), and NH(4)C(5)N=NC(6)H(4)N(H)C(5)H(4)N (HL(1c))] in the presence of dilute NEt(3) afforded multiple products. In the case of rhodium, two green compounds, viz. [Rh(L(1))(2)](+) ([2](+)) and [RhCl(pap)(L(1))](+) ([3](+)), where L(1) and pap stand for the conjugate base of [HL(1)] and 2-(phenylazo)pyridine, respectively, were separated on a preparative thin layer chromatographic plate. The reaction of RuCl(3).3H(2)O, on the other hand, produced two brown compounds, viz. [RuCl(HL(1))(L(1))] (4) and [RuCl(pap)(L(1))] (5), respectively, as the major products. The X-ray structures of the representative complexes are reported. Except for complex 2, and 4, the products are formed due to the cleavage of an otherwise unreactive C(phenyl)-N(amino) bond. In complex 4, one of the tridentate ligands (HL(1)) does not use its maximum denticity and coordinates as a neutral bidentate donor. Plausible reasons for the differences in their modes of coordination of the ligands as in 2 and 4 have been discussed. The ligand pap in the cationic mixed ligand complex [3](+) reacts instantaneously with ArNH(2) to produce an ink-blue compound, [RhCl(HL(2))(L(1))](+) ([6](+)) in a high yield. The ligand HL(2) is formed due to regioselective fusion of ArNH(2) residue at the para carbon of the phenyl ring (with respect to the azo fragment) of pap in [3](+). The above complexes are generally intensely colored and show strong absorptions in the visible region, which are assigned to intraligand charge transfer transitions. These complexes undergo multiple and successive one-electron-transfer processes at the cathodic potentials. Electrogenerated cationic complexes of ruthenium(III), [4](+) and [5](+), showed rhombic EPR spectra at 77 K.  相似文献

Sodium borohydride reduction of E-3-benzylidenechromanone epoxides in dry methanol has afforded 3(S*), 4(S*)-dihydroxy-3-[α(R*)-methoxybenzyl]chromans as an interesting class of products, the structures of which have been assigned mainly from spectral data and consideration of the mechanistic aspects. X-ray diffraction study of one of them, 3-[4-bromo-α(R*)-methoxybenzyl]-6-chloro-3(S*),4(S*)- dihydroxychroman, is performed. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic sp. gr. P21/n, with a = 13.336(6) Å, b = 10.866(5) Å, c = 27.166(11) Å, β = 95.193(6)°, V = 3920(3) Å3, and Z = 8. Supramolecular construction of the compound involves O–H···O intermolecular hydrogen bonds as well as three other types of non-covalent interactions which are responsible for crystal packing. Density functional theory was applied for geometry optimization, molecular orbital calculations, and prediction of UV spectral features. The geometric parameters (bond lengths, bond angles, and dihedral angles) for the representative compound obtained from density functional theory with B3LY6-31G basis set were in good agreement with experimental values.  相似文献

The coupled cluster iteration scheme for determining the cluster amplitudes involves a set of nonlinearly coupled difference equations. In the space spanned by the amplitudes, the set of equations are analyzed as a multivariate time-discrete map where the concept of time appears in an implicit manner. With the observation that the cluster amplitudes have difference in their relaxation timescales with respect to the distributions of their magnitudes, the coupled cluster iteration dynamics are considered as a synergistic motion of coexisting slow and fast relaxing modes, manifesting a dynamical hierarchical structure. With the identification of the highly damped auxiliary amplitudes, their time variation can be neglected compared to the principal amplitudes which take much longer time to reach the fixed points. We analytically establish the adiabatic approximation where each of these auxiliary amplitudes are expressed as unique parametric functions of the collective principal amplitudes, allowing us to study the optimization with the latter taken as the independent degrees of freedom. Such decoupling of the amplitudes significantly reduces the computational scaling without sacrificing the accuracy in the ground state energy as demonstrated by a number of challenging molecular applications. A road-map to treat higher order post-adiabatic effects is also discussed.  相似文献
