The non-linear vibration of a clamped-clamped beam at large displacement amplitudes is examined in this work. Complementary theoretical and experimental studies have been carried out to examine the amplitude dependence of the fundamental mode shape and its derivatives and the spatially-dependent harmonic distortion of the transverse displacement which occurs at large deflections. 相似文献

In this paper, the flow problem of incompressible liquid through an inhomogeneous porous medium (say dam), with permeability allowing parametrization of the free boundary by a graph of continuous unidimensional function, is considered. We propose a new formulation on an optimal shape design problem. We show the existence of a solution of the optimal shape design problem. Recent developments in far infrared laser spectrometry and dispersive Fourier transform spectrometry have allowed the full spectral variation of both parts of the complex refractive indices of some aqueous salt solutions in the spectral region 25–450 cm?1 to be determined. The salts studied were LiCl, LiClO4, NaCl, NaClO4, NaI, KCl, KBr, KI, KF, MgCl2, Mg(ClO4) and Bu4NBr (tetrabutylammonium bromide). The results show that in the presence of some electrolytes the optical constants of the solution differ significantly from those of pure water, and that in localised spectral regions the absorption can be many times less than that of pure water. 相似文献

Recent years have witnessed a boom in the biosynthesis of a large variety of nanomaterials using different biological resources among which algae-based entities have been gaining much more attention within the community of material scientists worldwide. In our previously published findings, we explored some factors that governed the biofabrication of gold nanoparticles using living cultures of microalgae, such as the utilized microalgal genera, the phylum they belong to, and the impact of tetrachloroauric acid concentrations on the ability of these strains to perform the biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles once in contact with these cations. As a follow-up, we present in this paper an improvement of the features of bioproduced gold colloids using living cells of Euglena gracilis microalga when this species is grown under either mixotrophic or autotrophic conditions, i.e., exposed to light and grown in an organic carbon-enriched culture medium versus under autotrophic conditions. As an outcome to this alteration, the growth rate of this photosynthetic microorganism is multiplied 7–8 times when grown under mixotrophic conditions compared to autotrophic ones. Therefore, the yield, the kinetics, and the colloidal stability of the biosynthesized gold nanoparticles are dramatically enhanced. Moreover, the shape and the size of the as-produced nano-objects via this biological method are affected. In addition to round-shaped gold nanoparticles, particular shapes, such as triangles and hexagons, appear. These findings add up to the amassed knowledge toward the design of photobioreactors for the scalable and sustainable production of interesting nanomaterials. 相似文献

In order to find informations on the native structure of the Leu-Enkephalin opiate peptide, the parent peptide and its two thioamide analogs (Thio-Gly2)Leu-Enkephalin and (Thio-Gly3)Leu-Enkephalin were studied by the theoretical method PEPSEA. This comparative conformational analysis showed that the active conformation is a β turn structure centered on Gly3 and Phe4. Moreover, this study showed also that the more active analog (Thio-Gly2)Leu-Enk has a lower tendency to adopt this structure. Consequently, its high activity can only be explained by its long lifetime due to its resistance to enzymatic hydrolysis, following the substitution of the amide linkage by the thioamide one. The weakly active analog (Thio-Gly3)Leu-Enk does not adopt this structure and prefers instead a β turn structure centered on Gly2 and Gly3. This study also confirmed the importance of the distances between the Tyr and Phe residues at positions 1 and 4, and that of the terminal Tyrosine N-H group which must be free of any intramolecular hydrogen bond in order to be available in the molecular recognition process. 相似文献

Timahdit oil shale was subjected to supercritical water extraction. The results reveal significant difference in oil yields and composition when compared with those obtained from conventional pyrolysis. In addition, the effect of temperature and residence time on the supercritical water extraction of oil was investigated in a set of three experiments. The results revealed that the yield and the fraction of paraffins and aromatics increase while the percentage of asphaltenes decreases as the temperature is increased from 380 to 400°C. The residence time was found to affect the yield and the fraction of asphaltenes and polar compounds. 相似文献
