To make ultrathin films for the fabrication of artificial olfactory systems, odorant biosensors, we have investigated mixed Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett films of odorant-binding protein/amphiphile. Under optimized experimental conditions (phosphate buffer solution, pH 7.5, OBP-1F concentration of 4 mg L(-1), target pressure 35 mN m(-1)), the mixed monolayer at the air/water interface is very stable and has been efficiently transferred onto gold supports, which were previously functionalized by self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) with 1-octadecanethiol (ODT). Atomic force microscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to characterize mixed Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films before and after contact with a specific odorant molecule, isoamyl acetate. AFM phase images show a higher contrast after contact with the odorant molecule due to the new structure of the OBP-1F/ODA LB film. Non-Faradaic electrochemical spectroscopy (EIS) is used to quantify the effect of the odorant based on the electrical properties of the OBP-1F/ODA LB film, as its resistance strongly decreases from 1.18 MOmega (before contact) to 25 kOmega (after contact). 相似文献

A novel series of the formula NdSrNi1−xCuxO4−δ were synthesized for various values of x ranging from 0 to 1 in 1 atm of O2 gas flow using conventional solid-state methods and were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and electrical resistivity measurements. The compounds have been shown to adopt the K2NiF4-type structure. The oxygen stoichiometry of the compounds was determined from thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA). An analysis of the micro-structure of the neodymium strontium nickel copper oxide is described. All the samples were semi-conducting from room temperature down to 77 K. The effect of Cu2+ incorporation on the structural and electrical properties of NdSrNi1−xCuxO4−δ, 0?x?1, are discussed in terms of Jahn-Teller distortion of the (Ni/Cu)O6 octahedra and mixed valence character of copper. 相似文献

The surface wave produced plasma belongs to a class of RF and microwave induced plasmas. It results from the propagation of an electromagnetic wave which uses the plasma column it sustains and the plasma tube as its sole propagating media. This type of plasma offers several advantages compared to the positive column plasma of dc discharges or to other RF and microwave produced plasmas. Surface wave plasmas require no internal electrodes, and they can be applied over an extremely broad range of wave frequencies (27 MHz to 10 GHz demonstrated) and gas pressures (about 10–4 Torr to a few times the atmospheric pressures). Using the surface wave plasma technique, a large variety of plasma column diameters have been created (0.5–150 mm demonstrated) and no limitation on plasma column length (column up to 6 m long demonstrated) has been found. The surface wave produced plasma is used in elemental analysis and to sustain emission in lasing media. We present an investigation of the effect of the process parameters, namely deposition pressure and laser intensity, on the growth and mechanical properties of carbon nitride (CNx) thin films synthesized by plasma assisted pulsed laser deposition. Deposition at high remote plasma pressure (200 mTorr) enhances both growth rate and nitrogen incorporation (up to 40 at.%), but nano-indentation measurements indicate that these films are very soft and have poor mechanical properties. At low remote plasma pressure (0.5 mTorr), the nitrogen content varies from 24 to 16 at.% with increasing laser intensity as the films become much harder and more elastic, with hardness and Youngs modulus values reaching 24 GPa and 230 GPa, respectively. These effects are explained in terms of a thermalization of the laser plasma at 200 mTorr and indicate that plasma activation of nitrogen does not provide any particular benefit to the film properties when deposition is performed at high pressure. However, at low pressure, the benefit of plasma activation is evidenced through enhanced nitrogen incorporation in the films while preserving the highly energetic species in the ablation plume. Laser ablation due to an ultrashort laser pulse on a massive aluminum target was investigated by means of a one-dimensional fluid code. Clear separation between the ablated matter and the unablated target is seen to occur through spinodal decomposition involving thermodynamic instabilities near the critical point of aluminum. The code also shows that the end of the ablation process is preceded by the ejection of droplets, which form about 15% of the total ejected mass. 相似文献

We describe here a rapid process for the preparation of new 9-chloromethyl-12-aryl-10,12-dihydrobenzo[5,6]chromeno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-11-ones 5a-d and 10-chloromethyl-7-aryl-7,9-dihydrobenzo[7,8]chromeno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-8-ones 6a-d by two different methods utilizing microwave irradiation. Using the basic moment equations (number density, flow density, and energy density) for singly ionized argon and for electrons, a simple diffusion equation (essentially one proposed by Lieberman and Lichtenberg, 1994) is adopted (by comparison with experiment), together with an integrated power balance equation. The effects of scaling magnetic field and radius are then discussed first for simple cylinders, for which there are known analytic diffusion solutions. For specific cases having the more complicated geometry of two abutting coaxial cylinders with considerably different radii, the numerical results are well approximated and delimited by considering only the wider cylinder for low magnetic field, and at high magnetic field, where end effects dominate, using the total length and the smallest diameter of the system 相似文献
