The effects of the organometallic compounds Bu2Sn-D -(?;)sorbitol, Bu2Sn-D -(+)glucose, Bu2Sn-D -(?)fructose and Bu2Sn-D -(+)glyceraldehyde were tested in vivo on different stages of Ascidian development, larval movement and metamorphosis. Organotin(IV) complexes are organometallic compounds widely used as industrial biocides, antifouling agents and agricultural fungicides and are toxic to a range of organisms. Two-cell stage embryos, if incubated for one hour in the organotin (IV) solutions, stopped the cleavage, which was restored when they were transferred into normal sea water. The gastrula stage was seriously affected in 10?4mol dm?3 solutions of the above-mentioned complexes: 85% of the embryos were anomalous neurulae with open neural folds, 5% were twisted larvae. The gastrulae, when incubated for 1 h in 10?5mol dm?3 solutions, developed twisted larvae in ovular envelopes and immobile larvae with twisted tails. Larvae treated with 10?4mol dm?3 and 10?5 mol dm?3 Bu2Sn-D -(?)sorbitol, Bu2Sn-D -(+)glucose and Bu2Sn-D -(+)glyceraldehyde solutions stopped swimming, did not metamorphose and afterwards underwent cytolysis. An initial hyperactivity of circular movements, followed by immobility, was observed in the larvae incubated in Bu2Sn-D -(?;)fructose.  相似文献

The interaction of some neutral acids of π type, bearing appropriate unsymmetrical substitutions at the C?C group with some selected bases (H2O, NH3, OH?), is compared with that of the parent compound of a new set of neutral π acids, bearing symmetrical substitutions at the C?C group with the same bases. The analyses of the interaction energy, performed according to two decomposition schemes, with and without the counterpoise corrections, make clear the similarity of symmetrically and unsymmetrically substituted neutral organic acids.  相似文献

Parameters suitable to describe the conformational behavior of α – β unsaturated aminoacids and peptides in the framework of an existing force field for nucleic acids and proteins (S.J. Weiner, P.A. Kollman, D.A. Case, U. Chandra Singh, C. Ghio, G. Alagona, S. Profeta, Jr., and P. Weiner, J. Am. Chem. Soc., 106 , 765 (1984)) are proposed and tested. Attention is primarily focused on dehydrophenylalanine and dehydroalanine containing peptides. The values of the parameters needed were obtained from experimental measurements available in the literature and from ad hoc quantum mechanical calculations. The selected values have subsequently been adapted and refined through molecular mechanical simulations on model compounds, such as Ac-ΔPhe-NMe, for which it was possible to carry out STO-3G/SCF calculations to check selected points on the ?,ψ conformational map, and Ac-ΔAla-NMe, where the comparison was carried out at the 4-31G level. The newly determined force field was then applied to Ac-ΔPhe-Ala-ΔPhe-NMe, whose minimal energy structures allowed us to explain the different circular dichroism behavior observed in CH2Cl2 and in dioxane. Starting from two minimum energy geometries of this tripeptide, the full optimization with AM1 produced an independent guess to their structure and stability in good agreement with the molecular mechanical one.  相似文献

Several histidine-tryptophan complexes (either stacked or T-shaped), derived from the crystal structures available in the Brookhaven Protein Data Bank, have been examined with molecular mechanics (MM), using the Tripos force field with Gasteiger-Hückel charges, whose trend was found to be analogous to the AMBER or CHARMM ones. The MM results were compared to the ab initio MP2 results, with and without counterpoise (CP) correction, previously obtained using extended basis sets on 5-methylimidazole and indole as model systems. MM seems to underestimate the interaction energy between the two monomers when compared to the uncorrected MP2 results, while the agreement is much better after including the CP correction at the MP2 level in all cases. MM was thus used to qualitatively analyse the dependence of the stacking energy on the ring rotation at a variable distance and ring centroid displacement for these systems, while keeping the rings in parallel planes. The semiclassical models considered here are composed by charge distributions coming from ab initio quantum-mechanical calculations on actual molecular systems. These charge distributions interact with one another according to the laws of classical electrostatics. This article describes some results of a systematic examination of the performances of this model in a variety of cases, with the aim of putting in evidence the usefulness and the limits of this inherently approximate representation of chemical interactions. Intermolecular interactions are examined first; the test cases are interactions of neutral molecules with H+, Li+, and C1?, and the formation of H-bonded complexes. Attention is paid mainly to the energetics of the processes; each interacting molecule is considered as a unique entity and classical molecular reactivity indexes (electrostatic potential V, polarization term P) are introduced to compute the interaction energy, to interpret the details of the interaction process, and then to elaborate on less expensive computational procedures. Intramolecular interactions are considered. Attention is paid to the question of defining chemical groups starting from SCF molecular wavefunctions. The transferability and conservation degree of groups derived from localized orbitals of actual molecules is examined in detail, taking as tests their ability to reproduce charge distribution, one-electron observables, and energy. The effect of classical fields on these groups is then examined, taking into consideration external fields originated either by a point charge or by a solvent, and internal fields deriving from substitution of chemical groups. The intergroup analysis is then extended to the case of bimolecular reaction acts by considering the whole system as a supermolecule. Approximate computational procedures able to reproduce the main features of these interactions are proposed and tested. All through the article the performances of the classical models are compared with ab initio SCF calculations (mainly of low or intermediate quality).  相似文献

Water/organic solvent two-liquid-phase systems have been successfully applied in the synthesis of enantiomerically pure (S)-benzoin through two different methodologies catalysed by whole cells from the non-conventional yeast Pichia glucozyma: the stereoselective monoreduction of benzil and the deracemisation of benzoin. The presence of the organic solvent influences the redox systems implied in the reactions, avoiding the formation of the corresponding diols, increasing the enantioselectivity and allowing the easy isolation of the products in high yields and excellent enantiomeric excesses. The use of both strategies has been extended to the preparation of different chiral benzoin derivatives.  相似文献
