Zusammenfassung An den Modellverbindungen Dialkylchlorthiophosphat (RO)₂P(S)Cl (R=Me, Et, n-Pr) und Diphenylchlorthiophosphat (PhO)₂P(S)Cl wurde der Austausch Chlorid—Radiochlorid am Thiophosphorylzentrum untersucht. Die bimolekularen Geschwindigkeitskonstanten, die Aktivierungsenergien und Aktivierungsentropien wurden berechnet. Der Einfluß von Substituenten auf bimolekulare Substitutionsreaktionen am vierfach koordinierten Phosphoratom wurde diskutiert.

Chlorine isotopic exchange at phosphorus atoms, I.: Chloridothiophosphates

The chloride—radiochloride ion exchange at the thiophosphoryl centre has been studied using dialkylchloridothiophosphates (RO)₂P(S)Cl (R=Me, Et, n-Pr) and diphenylphosphorochloridothionate, (PhO)₂P(S)Cl, as model compounds. The bimolecular rate constants, energies and entropies of activation have been calculated. Effects of the substituents in the bimolecular displacement reaction on four-coordinated phosphorus atom have been discussed.

Immanant positivity for Catalan-Stieltjes matrices

We give some sufficient conditions for the nonnegativity of immanants of square submatrices of Catalan-Stieltjes matrices and their corresponding Hankel matrices. To obtain these sufficient conditions, we construct new planar networks with a recursive nature for Catalan-Stieltjes matrices. As applications, we provide a unified way to produce inequalities for many combinatorial polynomials, such as the Eulerian polynomials, Schröder polynomials, and Narayana polynomials.     

Multicomponent analysis with a computerized flow injection system using LED photometric detection

An original computer-controlled solid-state photometer has been developed and its potential for simultaneous multicomponent flow-injection analysis of binary and ternary mixtures is demonstrated. The device is simple in construction. Its principle of operation is based on rapid sequential measurements of the absorbance of the complexes formed by the analytes with chromogenic reagents at the wavelengths corresponding to the emission maxima of three light emitting diodes (563, 580 and 638 nm).     

A Bis-Chelating / Ligand for the Synthesis of Heterobimetallic Platinum(II)/Rhenium(I) Complexes: Tools for the Optimization of a New Class of Platinum(II) Anticancer Agents

The two independent and coordination sites of a newly synthesized bis[2-(hydroxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazole] platform have been exploited to prepare four monometallic neutral ()Pt^II complexes carrying DMSO, pyridine, triphenylphosphine, or N-heterocyclic carbene as the fourth ligand. Then, the second coordination site was used to introduce an IR-active rhenium tricarbonyl entity, affording the four corresponding heterobimetallic neutral Pt^II/Re^I complexes, as well as a cationic Pt^II/Re^I derivative. X-ray crystallographic studies showed that distortion of the organic platform occurred to accommodate the coordination geometry of both metal centers. No ligand exchange or transchelation occurred upon incubation of the Pt^II complexes in aqueous environment or in the presence of Fe^III, respectively. The antiproliferative activity of the ligand and complexes was first screened on the triple-negative breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. Then, the IC₅₀ values of the most active candidates were determined on a wider panel of human cancer cells (MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, and A2780), as well as on a nontumorigenic cell line (MCF-10A). Low micromolar activities were reached for the complexes carrying a DMSO ligand, making them the first examples of highly active, but hydrolytically stable, Pt^II complexes. Finally, the characteristic mid-IR signature of the {Re(CO)₃} fragment in the Pt/Re heterobimetallic complexes was used to quantify their uptake in breast cancer cells.     

2,5-Dihydro-L,2-Oxaphospholic Derivatives from 1,2-& Kadienephosphonates and Pseudohalogenes

Abstract

Interaction between some 1,2-alkadienephosphonic derivatives and dimethyl(diisopropyl)phosphonic sulfenyl chlorides in weak polar media was investigated. We established that in all cases the oxaphospholic cyclization of 1,2-alkadienephosphonic system took place, and 4-thiodi-alkoxyphosphonyl-2,5-dihydro-l,2-oxaphospholic derivatives were obtained.     

Peptide mimotopes of phomopsins: Identification, characterization and application in an immunoassay

Peptide mimotopes of plant-associated toxins offer the potential for improving analytical and diagnostic methodologies as well as providing candidates for potential protective vaccines against plant poisoning diseases. Monoclonal antibody (mAb) C₃C₁₁, which recognizes the antimicrotubule phomopsin mycotoxins, was used to isolate peptide mimics of phomopsin A from a random 15-mer phage display peptide library. A total of 46 clones were isolated that showed specific reactivity with the mAb. Amino acid sequence analysis revealed four different types of mimotope sequences, all of which contained a common motif V-A-L/V-C. Of the 46 clones isolated, 44 contained the motif V-A-L-C while 2 contained the V-A-V-C motif. All four types of phage clones inhibited the reactivity of the mAb with phomopsin A in a competition ELISA. The clone with the mimotope sequence CT VALCNMYFGAKLD demonstrated the strongest binding. It was further shown that synthetic peptides containing these mimotope amino acid sequences were able to inhibit the mAb-phomopsin A interaction, indicating that the peptide mimotopes were responsible for the specific binding, independent of the phage framework. The results also suggest that the mimotope peptides bind to mAb C₃C₁₁ at the same site as phomopsin A. The application of recombinant phage particles carrying phomopsin mimotopes in immunoassay was evaluated and the results demonstrated approximately 100-fold increase in sensitivity in comparison with a conventional immunoassay using a chemically linked phomopsin-horseradish peroxidase conjugate.
