Vibronic and electric properties of semiconductor structures based on butyl-substituted mono-and triphthalocyanine containing erbium ions

The Raman spectra have been obtained and the temperature dependence of the conductivity of organic semiconductor structures based on butyl-substituted erbium monophthalocyanine and erbium triphthalocyanine has been studied. It has been found experimentally that the activation energy decreases dramatically and the Raman spectra exhibits four new peaks in the region of large Raman shifts as the molecular structure of the samples becomes more complicated.     

Synthesis of alkyl-substituted phosphorus phthalocyanines and triazatetrabenzocorroles

New alkyl-substituted phosphorus phthalocyanines and triazatetrabenzocorroles were synthesized. The structures of these complexes were confirmed by ¹H, ¹³C, and ³¹P NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and electronic absorption spectroscopy. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Catalytic DNA-and RNA-hydrolyzing antibodies from milk of healthy human mothers

Various catalytically active antibodies (Abs), or abzymes, have been detected recently in the sera of patients with autoimmune pathologies, in whom their presence is probably associated with autoimmunization. Normal humans are generally not considered to have abzymes, since no obvious immunizing factors are present. Here is shown by different methods that IgG from the milk of normal females possesses both DNase and RNase activities. The activities were also present in the IgG F(ab′)₂ and Fab fragments. Affinity modification of IgG by the chemically reactive derivative of an oligonucleotide led to preferential modification of the L chain of IgG. After separation of the subunits by sodium dodecyl sulfate electrophoresis in a gel containing DNA, an in-gel assay showed DNase activity in the L chain. The L chain separated by affinity chromatography on DNA-cellulose was catalytically active. These findings speak in favor of the generation of cat alytic Abs by the immune system of healthy mothers. It is known that the treatment of adults with DNases and RNases offers protection from viral and bacterial diseases. Since breast milk protects the infants from infec tions until the immune system is developed, this raises the possibility that catalytic Abs like nucleases, may possess a protective role.

First hybrid oximehydrazonate phthalocyaninoclathrochelates: The synthesis and properties of lutetium phthalocyanine-capped cage iron(II) complexes

Ditopic oximehydrazonate iron(II) phthalocyaninoclathrochelates were synthesized by a transmetallation (a capping group exchange) reaction of the initial labile triethylantimony-capped clathrochelate iron(II) oximehydrazonates with lutetium(III) phthalocyanine as a Lewis acid. The complexes obtained were characterized using elemental analysis, PD and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometries, IR, UV–Vis, ⁵⁷Fe Mössbauer, and ¹H, ¹³C{¹H} NMR spectroscopies. An encapsulated iron(II) ion was found to be in a low-spin state. The cyclic voltammograms show oxidation and reduction waves assignable to Fe^2+/3+ couples of macrobicyclic framework and to phthalocyanine macrocycles.     

Synthesis and spectroscopic properties of new boron subphthalocyanine complexes and a heteronuclear phthalocyanine complex

New boron μ-chloro-and μ-alkoxyhexabutylsubphthalocyanines were synthesized. A heteronuclear complex containing both the phthalocyanine and subphthalocyanine fragments was prepared. Electrical conductivity and photoconductivity of films of composites based on poly[2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] with additions of zinc octabutyl phthalocyanine and C60

Features of the photoconductivity of films of composites based on [2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] with additions of zinc 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octabutylphthalocyanine and C₆₀ were studied. Luminescence quenching and an increase in the photoconductivity with the addition of C₆₀ to their composition were detected. Determination of metal ion content of beverages and estimation of target hazard quotients: a comparative study

Background  

Considerable research has been directed towards the roles of metal ions in nutrition with metal ion toxicity attracting particular attention. The aim of this study is to measure the levels of metal ions found in selected beverages (red wine, stout and apple juice) and to determine their potential detrimental effects via calculation of the Target Hazard Quotients (THQ) for 250 mL daily consumption.     

Selective synthesis and spectroscopic properties of alkyl-substituted lanthanide(<Emphasis Type="SmallCaps">III</Emphasis>) mono-, di-, and triphthalocyanines

Methods for the selective synthesis of mono-(^RPcLnOAc), di-(^RPc₂Ln), and triphthalocyanines (^RPc₃Ln₂) of rare-earth metals (Ln = Lu, Er, Eu) from symmetrically substituted 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octaalkylphthalocyanines ^RPcH₂ (R = Et, Bu) were developed. The synthesized complexes were characterized by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and electronic absorption spectra. The conditions for ¹H NMR spectra recording were optimized. Regularities in changing the spectral properties of the synthesized compounds, depending on the lanthanide nature and the planarity of metal phthalocyanine complexes, were found. tom@org.chem.msu.su Dedicated to Academician A.
