An ion chromatography system employing a low-cost three-dimensional printed absorbance detector for indirect ultraviolet detection towards portable phosphate analysis of environmental and industrial waters has been developed. The optical detection cell was fabricated using stereolithography three-dimensional printing of nanocomposite material. Chromatographic analysis and detection of phosphate were carried out using a CS5A 4 × 250 mm analytical column with indirect ultraviolet detection using a 255 nm light-emitting diode. Isocratic elution using a 0.6 mM potassium phthalate eluent combined with 1.44 mM sodium bicarbonate was employed at a flow rate of 0.75 mL/min. A linear calibration range of 0.5 to 30 mg/L PO43− applicable to environmental and wastewater analysis was achieved. For retention time and peak area repeatability, relative standard deviation values were 0.68 and 4.09%, respectively. Environmental and wastewater samples were analyzed with the optimized ion chromatography platform and the results were compared to values obtained by an accredited ion chromatograph. For the analysis of environmental samples, relative errors of <14 % were achieved. Recovery analysis was also carried out on both freshwater and wastewater samples and recovery results were within the acceptable range for water analysis using standard ion chromatography methods.  相似文献

The separation of structurally related angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors lisinopril, cilazapril, ramipril and quinapril and their corresponding active diacid forms (prilates) by conventional TLC silica gel 60 plates was contrasted with that afforded by monolithic ultra-thin-layer chromatographic (UTLC) plates. For the use of UTLC plates technical modifications of the commercially available equipments for the sample application, development and detection were made. Plates were developed in modified horizontal developing chamber using ethyl acetate-acetone-acetic acid-water (4:1:0.25:0.5, v/v). Detection of the separated compounds was performed densitometrically in absorption/reflectance mode at 220 nm and after exposure to iodine also by image analysis. The obtained results showed that monolithic layer is more efficient for the separation of structurally similar polar compounds, such as prilates than conventional silica layers. Identification of the compounds was confirmed by ESI-MS after their on-line extraction from the UTLC and TLC plates by means of Camag TLC-MS interface.  相似文献

Dry and hydrated poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) gels with 55% (a‐PVA) and 61% (s‐PVA) syndiotacticity and related PVA/lactyl chitosan (LC) blends have been investigated with 129Xe and cross‐polarization/magic‐angle‐spinning 13C NMR techniques. Although the dry gels exhibit two broad 129Xe resonances in the slow‐to‐intermediate exchange limit, both hydrated gels show three resonances. The corresponding dry blends exhibit two signals, the chemical shifts and line widths of which change with respect to those of pure PVA, whereas one (a‐PVA/LC) or two (s‐PVA/LC) signals appear in the spectra of the hydrated blends. A comparative analysis of the data demonstrates that LC rearranges the domains of the polymeric matrix in both the dry and hydrated blends according to the syndiotacticity of the PVA chains. Information on the molecular motions of the amorphous and swollen polymeric domains in the kilohertz range has been obtained from an analysis of the spin‐lattice relaxation times. These data indicate that the dynamics and arrangement of the PVA chains in the gels are strongly affected by their tacticity and the addition of the copolymer LC. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Squaric acid dimethyl ester (C(6)O(4)H(6); 3,4-dimethoxycyclobut-3-ene-1,2-dione; DCD) was studied by matrix isolation infrared spectroscopy and by density functional theory (B3LYP) and ab initio (MP2) calculations with the 6-31++G(d,p) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. Three conformers of the compound were theoretically predicted. The two most stable conformers were identified in low-temperature argon matrixes and the energy gap between them was determined. The trans-trans conformer (C(2)(v)) was found to be more stable than the cis-trans form (C(s)) by 4.2 kJ mol(-1), in consonance with the theoretical predictions (MP2 calcd = 3.9 kJ mol(-1)). In situ broadband UV irradiation (lambda > 337 nm) of the matrix-isolated compound was found to induce the ring-opening reaction leading to production of the bisketene, 2,3-dimethoxybuta-1,3-diene-1,4-dione as well as the trans-trans --> cis-trans conformational isomerization. The latter phototransformation allowed separation of the infrared spectra of the two conformers initially trapped into a low-temperature matrix. Upon higher energy irradiation (lambda > 235 nm), the main observed photoproducts were CO and deltic acid dimethyl ester (C(5)O(3)H(6); 2,3-dimethoxycycloprop-2-en-1-one), the latter being obtained in two different conformations (trans-trans and cis-trans). According to the experimental data, deltic acid dimethyl ester is produced by decarbonylation of the initially formed bisketene and not by direct CO extrusion from DCD.  相似文献
