4-Vinylphenols, useful compounds for industrial applications, were obtained by decarboxylation of 4-hydroxycinnamic acids under microwave irradiation in the presence of 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) as base and basic aluminum oxide as solid support. The reactions were fast (15-30 min). The selective extraction of the final products with ethyl acetate avoids chromatographic purifications. The conversions are quantitative and the yields are satisfactory. Only the unstable 4-vinylcatechol was obtained in moderate yield. This procedure was successfully extended to a natural sample of ferulic acid extracted from wheat bran to get the corresponding 4-vinylguaiacol, a FEMA GRAS (Flavor and Extract Manufacturer's Association; General Regarded as Safe) approved flavoring agent.  相似文献

Quantitative photoacoustic spectra of the nuclei of cataractous human lenses with various degrees of colouration and opacification were measured in the spectral range 250-600 nm. The lens nuclei were obtained from 20 cataractous patients through extracapsular cataract extraction. These measurements yield the light loss per unit path length in the nucleus of cataractous lenses.  相似文献

The relation between elasticity and yielding is investigated in a model polymer solid by Molecular‐Dynamics simulations. By changing the bending stiffness of the chain and the bond length, semicrystalline and disordered glassy polymers — both with bond disorder — as well as nematic glassy polymers with bond ordering are obtained. It is found that in systems with bond disorder the ratio τY/G between the shear yield strength τY and the shear modulus G is close to the universal value of the atomic metallic glasses. The increase of the local nematic order in glasses leads to the increase of the shear modulus and the decrease of the shear yield strength, as observed in experiments on nematic thermosets. A tentative explanation of the subsequent reduction of the ratio τY/G in terms of the distributions of the per‐monomer stress is offered. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci. Part B: Polym. A simple integrated optical refractometric sensor based on hollow-core antiresonant reflecting optical waveguides is proposed. The sensor uses the antiresonant reflecting guidance mechanism and permits one to measure the refractive index of a liquid filling the core by simply monitoring the transmitted spectrum. The device has been made with standard silicon technology, and the experimental results confirm numerical simulations performed in one- and two-dimensional geometry. The sensor exhibits a linear response over a wide measurement range (1.3330-1.4450) and a resolution of 9 x 10(-4) and requires a small analyte volume.  相似文献

A poly(amido-amine), PAA, bearing β-CD units in the side chain was synthesized by a polyaddition reaction of 1,4-bis-acryloyl-piperazine with 6-monodeoxy-6-monoamino-β-cyclodextrin (β-CD-NH2). Unlike the simple β-CD-NH2 with a greater basicity constant (log K = 8.60), the polymer revealed an unusual polyelectrolyte behaviour with a lower basicity constant (log K° = 6.29) of the tertiary nitrogen atom, that is strongly dependent on the degree of protonation α of the whole macromolecule. It follows the modified Henderson–Hasselbalch equation with n = 1.75, in a wide α-range. The greater (?46.1 kJ/mol) and the lower (?27.6 kJ/mol) enthalpy (ΔH°) changes of the compounds were in line with the protonation of a primary or a tertiary nitrogen atom. The calorimetric data suggested that the PAA protonation destroyed a packing structure formed by two rigid β-CD side chains interacting head-to-head. The UV spectrophotometric data showed that the PAA exhibits affinity towards the l-ascorbic acid at low pH (pH 2.46) with an isosbestic point at 241 nm and a slight blue shift of the maximum absorption of the ascorbic acid (244 nm) on PAA additions.  相似文献

The prevalence at birth of hemoglobin defects in the autochthonous North-European population is low. However, the long immigration and colonial history of the Netherlands has resulted in a group of about 1-2 million 'autochthonous' inhabitants, with Asian, South-European or African ancestors, in whom a moderate birth prevalence of globin gene mutations can be expected. Furthermore, at least 10% of the Dutch population consists of recent immigrants from different countries with high birth prevalence of hemoglobinopathies. Because of the endogamous partner choice, which is prevalent in this population, the risk for homozygous progeny remains elevated. At least 100,000 carriers of hemoglobinopathies of recent allochthonous origin are present in the Netherlands, and the number of homozygous children is rising. Prevention by prenatal diagnosis requires a suitable protocol and knowledge about the molecular defects present in the country. Therefore we have analyzed a large number of patients and carriers, both at the hematological and at the DNA level. Our survey revealed 47 different beta-thalassemia determinants, characterized on 223 independent chromosomes from individuals of different ethnic origins. As expected, the most prevalent mutations were largely represented. The cd39 (C-->T) mutation was found in 70% of the immigrants from Morocco, Sardinia and other Central-West-Mediterranean regions while the IVS-I-110 (G-->A) was prevalent in the East-Mediterranean populations. The IVS-I-5 (G-->C) mutation was found in 45% of the patients of Indonesian origin. We also registered 308 independent chromosomes with common structural defects (HbS, HbC, HbE, Hb Lepore, Hb Constant Spring and HbD Punjab) and 33 chromosomes with 19 different, less frequent, rare or very rare mutants. Seven structural mutants were described for the first time and published separately. Furthermore, 139 independent chromosomes with deletional and nondeletional alpha-thalassemia defects were characterized.  相似文献
