Product state distributions from low energy He+N2 and N+2He collisions are presented. These data, obtained from collision-produced emission spectra, show severe deviations from Franck-Condon behavior which cannot be solely the result of molecular distortion arising from electrodynamic effects. A model based on consideration of the short-range interaction between the collision partners is proposed.  相似文献

The molecular dynamics of new poly (ω‐dodecalactam‐co‐ε‐caprolactam‐co‐propylene oxide) copolymers (DL/CL/PAC) has been investigated by using dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) and dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (DRS) measurements. The copolymers were synthesized via anionic polymerization of relevant lactams activated with carbamoyl derivatives of telechelic hydroxyl terminated polypropylene oxide with isophorone diisocyanate (PAC). The calorimetric, X‐ray diffraction, and DMTA measurements were performed to recognize the influence of the composition ratio and the type of PAC on the physical, thermal, and mechanical properties of the synthesized copolymers. The DRS was used to study the frequency dependence of the dielectric permittivity of some isotherms from ?110 to 145 °C. Copolymerization of ε‐caprolactam with about 10 wt % ω‐dodecalactam results in a copolymer that has lower water absorption, a melting point close to that of polyamide 6 and has a high enough degree of crystallinity in respect to high storage modulus. Five dielectric relaxations have been observed in the dielectric spectra, three at lower temperature and two at higher temperature. The copolymers have two glass transition temperatures for polyamide segments and polyether blocks, indicating microphase separation in the copolymers. Other studies directed toward molecular dynamics of polyamide DL/CL/PAC copolymers have not been reported. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys, 2010  相似文献

In the present work, a further numerical simulation of the starting flow around a flat plate normal to the direction of motion in a uniform fluid has been made by means of the discrete vortex method. The secondary separation occurring at rear surface of the plate is explored, and predicted approximately using Thwait's method. The calculated results show that in the early stages of the flow secondary separation does occur. The evolution of flow field, the vortex growing process and the characteristics of secondary vortices have been described. The time dependent drag coefficients, the vorticity shed from the edges and rear surface, and the separation positions are calculated as well as the distributions of velocity and pressure on the plate. In the case of flow normal to the plate, the calculated secondary vortices are weak. Their existence will change the local velocity distributions and affect pressure distributions. However, the effect on drag coefficient is negligible.  相似文献

In this paper, results from an experimental study of the natural and forced evolution of a pair of counter rotating wing-tip vortices are reported. The vortices were generated using a pair of opposed wing-tips in a wind tunnel and measurements made up to 77 tip-spacings downstream of the models at a chord Reynolds number of 1.3 × 105. The wake was interrogated using 2D particle image velocimetry and the long-wave Crow instability observed. Velocity data were recorded throughout the lifetime of the instability from initial growth through linking, formation of vortex rings and their subsequent decay. Forcing was achieved using pulsed air jets blowing in the span-wise direction from the wing tip and imparting spatially periodic perturbations to the vortices. Forcing at a frequency within the range amplified by the Crow instability was found to enhance the instability growth rate whereas forcing at a frequency outside the amplified range was found to inhibit instability growth. In the latter case the imparted wavelength was observed to die out with a preferred wavelength growing in its place.  相似文献

A mathematical and numerical formulation is derived for fluid/structure interaction problems involving arbitrary geometries relevant to the simulation of bridge deck instabilities due to cross winds. A translating and rotating moving frame of reference is attached to the body to utilize an efficient fixed mesh spectral/hp element solver. The formulation is validated against experiments with flow simulations of circular cylinders at Reynolds numbers of 100–400 undergoing free and forced motion in the transverse and in‐line directions. The well‐documented phenomena of vortex lock‐in is captured. The formulation is then applied a rectangular body at Re=250 under forced and free motion the latter of which demonstrates torsional galloping. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Abstract  

Visualization of the wake of a system of two circular cylinders in tandem is presented through Digital Particle Image Velocimetry results in a plane perpendicular to the models’ axes. Both cylinder models have an aspect ratio (length over diameter) of almost 100, a mass ratio (mass divided by mass of displaced fluid) under 2, and they are flexible and free to move in the in-line and cross-flow directions. A supporting structure provided attachment of both models through universal joints at each end and the cylinders were exposed to a uniform flow profile over the lower 45% of their lengths, producing vortex-induced vibrations with wake interactions. The centre to centre separation between the models could be varied and data is shown here for three separations of 2, 3 and 4 diameters.  相似文献

Experiments have been carried out on a pair of circular cylinders to investigate the effectiveness of pivoting parallel plates as wake-induced vibration suppressors. Measurements of amplitude of vibration and average drag are presented for a circular cylinder, free to respond in the cross-flow direction, with mass ratio 2 and a damping level of 0.7% of critical damping. Reduced velocities were up to nearly 30, with associated Reynolds numbers up to 2.3×104 and the results presented are for a centre-to-centre separation of cylinders of 4 diameters. It is shown how vortex-induced vibration and wake-induced vibration of the downstream cylinder of a tandem pair can be practically eliminated by using free to rotate parallel plates. The device achieves vibration suppression with a substantial drag reduction when compared to a pair of fixed tandem cylinders at the same Reynolds number. Results for a single splitter plate and helical strakes are also presented for comparison and were found not to be effective in suppressing wake-induced vibration.  相似文献
