When bromoform (CHBr3) is photolyzed at 266 or 303 nm in the presence of O2 and NO, the formation of secondary Br atoms is observed. By following the rate of growth of this secondary Br atom signal as a function of conditions, rate constants have been determined for the reactions CHBr2 + O2, CHBr2 + NO (both pressure-dependent), and CHBr2O2 + NO (k(2a) = (1.74 +/- 0.16) x 10(-11) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1) at 23 degrees C). By measuring the amplitude of the secondary Br signal compared to the primary Br formed in the initial photolysis, it is established that the CHBr2O radical spontaneously decomposes to form CHBrO + Br at least 90%, and probably 100%, of the time, in agreement with previous work and with recent ab initio calculations. A survey of four other polybrominated methanes, CH2Br2, CHClBr2, CF2Br2, and CBr4, shows that they all generate secondary Br atoms when photolyzed at 266 nm in the presence of O2 and NO, suggesting that their reaction sequences are similar to that of bromoform. 相似文献

This review paper covers the low temperature wet growth of nano-engineered particles of ZnO-based mixed metal oxides, their growth mechanism, and characterization using X-ray diffraction, SEM, TEM and IR, UV–visible, and XPS spectral techniques. Main focus of this article is centered on low temperature semi-wet methods of synthesis that are suitable for large scale production of zinc oxide-based systems mixed with iron oxide, copper oxide, nickel oxide and cobalt oxide. These mixed metal oxides have broad industrial applications as catalyst, semiconductors, adsorbents, superconductors, electro-ceramics, and antifungal agents in addition to extensive applications in medicines. This paper discusses the low-cost and environment friendly synthesis of these mixed metal oxides, measurement of properties and applicability of these materials systems. 相似文献

Background
Short-term habituation of the startle response represents an elementary form of learning in mammals. The underlying mechanism is located within the primary startle pathway, presumably at sensory synapses on giant neurons in the caudal pontine reticular nucleus (PnC). Short trains of action potentials in sensory afferent fibers induce depression of synaptic responses in PnC giant neurons, a phenomenon that has been proposed to be the cellular correlate for short-term habituation. We address here the question whether both this synaptic depression and the short-term habituation of the startle response are localized at the presynaptic terminals of sensory afferents. If this is confirmed, it would imply that these processes take place prior to multimodal signal integration, rather than occurring at postsynaptic sites on PnC giant neurons that directly drive motor neurons. 相似文献6.

The TWIST Collaboration has measured the Michel parameter rho in normal muon decay, mu(+)--> e(+)nu(e)nu (mu). In the standard model, rho = 3/4. Deviations from this value imply mixing of left- and right-handed muon and electron couplings. We find rho=0.750 80+/-0.000 32(stat) +/- 0.000 97(syst) +/- 0.000 23, where the last uncertainty represents the dependence of rho on the Michel parameter eta. This result sets new limits on the W(L)-W(R) mixing angle in left-right symmetric models. 相似文献

The reaction of methyl radicals with atomic and molecular oxygen was studied with a photoionization mass spectrometer. The methyl radicals were generated by reacting oxygen atoms with ethylene in a fast-flow tube reactor. The rate constant for the reaction of methyl radicals with oxygen atoms was (1.0 ± 0.2) × 10?10 cm3/molec · sec with no significant variation with temperature over the range of 259–341°K. The reaction of methyl radicals with molecular oxygen involves both a two-body reaction, having a rate constant \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$\begin{array}{*{20}c} {k_{{\rm 3a}} = (10^{- 12.54 \pm 0.35})\exp [(- 940 \pm 250)T^{- 1}]} & {{\rm cm}^{\rm 3} /{\rm molec} \cdot {\rm sec}} \end{array}$\end{document} and a three-body recombination having a negative temperature dependence. The methyl peroxy radical could be observed at its steady-state concentration. The rate constants determined at low pressures are compatible with the values determined at higher pressures by flash photolysis. Formaldehyde appears to be a major product of the two-body reaction of CH3 with O2, and also of the reaction of CH3O2 with oxygen atoms. 相似文献

A trace elemental analysis was carried out in various parts of 12 anticancer medicinal plants, using the PIXE (particle‐induced X‐ray emission) technique. A 3‐MeV proton beam was used to excite the samples, and spectra were recorded using a Si (Li) detector. Data analysis was done using the GUPIX software. The elements Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Br and Sr were identified, and their concentrations estimated. The ion CHO+ has been identified as the primary chemi-ion in the reaction of oxygen atoms with acetylene, ethylene and isobutane. Low concentrations of reactants in helium were mixed in the annular region between two concentric stainless steel cylinders. The chemi-ions were sampled through a pinhole in the outer cylinder and analyzed by a quadrupole mass spectrometer. By applying an electric field between the two cylinders, the residence time of the ions could be decreased, thereby reducing the importance of secondary ion—molecule reactions. CHO+ was the only ion that increased in importance as the electric field was applied, becoming more than 90% of the total ions at high fields. This observation provides strong support for the proposal of Calcote that the reaction, O + CH → CHO+ + e?1 is the source of chemi-ionization in hydrocarbon flames. 相似文献

Spectra of the Lyman-α emission resulting from the Ar(4s, 3P2.0) + H(Is, 2S) interaction have been recorded. The emission line profile is essentially rectangular with a full width of 13 pm. These results show that excited H(n = 2) atoms are formed in the reaction, with nearly all the excess energy (1.34 eV) appearing as kinetic energy of the hydrogen atom. Lyman-α emission profiles also have been obtained from microwave discharge plasmas in argon and helium, containing traces of hydrogen; these profiles are compared with those from the Ar(3P2.0) + H(2S) system. 相似文献
