Unsteady, axisymmetric stagnation flow about a circular cylinderis examined when the far-field flow is a periodic function oftime with a fixed time average and an oscillatory part of prescribedamplitude and frequency. Solutions are computed for arbitraryvalues of the Reynolds number, quantifying the effects of surfacecurvature, and a frequency parameter based on the period ofthe far-field flow. It is found that solutions remain regularand periodic provided that the far-field amplitude lies belowa critical value. Above this value, solutions terminate in afinite-time singularity. The blow-up time is delayed by increasingthe curvature of the surface. These results are corroboratedby asymptotic predictions valid in the limits of small and largeamplitude and frequency. For large Reynolds number, the problemreduces to the two-dimensional stagnation-point flow againsta plane wall studied by previous authors.  相似文献

Aromatic cycloimmonium ylides underwent smooth cyclization with electron deficient alkynes in presence of anhydrous K2CO3 in DMF solvent at room temperature to afford substituted indolizines. Ylides have also undergone expected cyclization with ethyl cyanoformate to produce imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines. The structures of these newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed by spectroscopic techniques and X-ray diffraction studies.  相似文献

S -nitrosothiols have many biological activities and may act as nitric oxide (NO) carriers and donors, prolonging NO half-life in vivo. In spite of their great potential as therapeutic agents, most S -nitrosothiols are too unstable to isolate. We have shown that the S -nitroso adduct of N -acetylcysteine (SNAC) can be synthesized directly in aqueous and polyethylene glycol (PEG) 400 matrix by using a reactive gaseous (NO/O2) mixture. Spectral monitoring of the S–N bond cleavage showed that SNAC, synthesized by this method, is relatively stable in nonbuf-fered aqueous solution at 25°C in the dark and that its stability is greatly increased in PEG matrix, resulting in a 28-fold decrease in its initial rate of thermal decomposition. Irradiation with UV light (λ= 333 nm) accelerated the rate of decomposition of SNAC to NO in both matrices, indicating that SNAC may find use for the photogeneration of NO. The quantum yield for SNAC decomposition decreased from 0.65 ± 0.15 in aqueous solution to 0.047 ± 0.005 in PEG 400 matrix. This increased stability in PEG matrix was assigned to a cage effect promoted by the PEG microenvironment that increases the rate of geminated radical pair recombination in the homolytic S–N bond cleavage process. This effect allowed for the storage of SNAC in PEG at −20°C in the dark for more than 10 weeks with negligible decomposition. Such stabilization may represent a viable option for the synthesis, storage and handling of S -nitrosothiol solutions for biomedical applications.  相似文献

The effect of temperature (293-333 K) on the fluorescence emission of 4-(5-methyl-3-phenyl-benzofuran-2-yl)-6-chloro-2H-chromen-2-one (MPBClC) is recorded in non-polar (1,4-dioxane, and toluene), and polar (butanol and DMSO) solvents. It is found that there is no shift in the position of fluorescence maxima, but the intensity decreases with increase in temperature, which depends on the polarity of the solvent. A mechanism of fluorescence quenching with rise in temperature is discussed in terms of the relative location of lowest 1(ππ?) and 3(?) states, and the energy difference between them. The change in temperature brings about a change in the probabilities of radiative and non-radiative transition. The radiationless deactivation of excited-state in the absence of quencher is temperature-dependent and its thermal activation energy has been determined.  相似文献

The behavior of monolayers of monodisperse prolate ellipsoidal latex particles with the same surface chemistry but varying aspect ratio has been studied experimentally. Particle monolayers at an air-water interface were subjected to compression in a Langmuir trough. When surface pressure measurements and microscopy observations were combined, possible structural transitions were evaluated. Ellipsoids of a sufficiently large aspect ratio display a less abrupt increase in the compression isotherms than spherical particles. Microscopic observations reveal that a sequence of transitions is responsible for this more gradual increase of the surface pressure. When a percolating aggregate network is used as the starting point, locally ordered regions appear progressively. When it reaches a certain surface pressure, the system "jams", and in-plane rearrangements are no longer possible at this point. A highly localized yielding of the particle network is observed. The compressional stress is relieved by flipping the ellipsoids into an upright position and by expelling particles from the monolayer. The latter does not occur for spherical particles with similar dimensions and surface chemistry. In the final stage of compression, buckling of the monolayer as a whole was observed. The effect of aspect ratio on the pressure area isotherms and on the obtained percolation and packing thresholds was quantified.  相似文献

The mechanism of binding of anti-inflammatory drug, nimesulide (NIM) with bovine serum albumin (BSA) was investigated by fluorescence, absorption, circular dichroism (CD) and lifetime measurements under simulative physiological conditions. The analysis of fluorescence data indicated the presence of both dynamic and static quenching mechanism in the binding. Various binding parameters have been evaluated. The CD spectral data revealed the decrease in alpha-helical content of BSA from 70.9% (in free BSA) to 42.03% (in bound form) thereby indicating the conformational change in BSA upon binding. The binding of NIM to BSA was also confirmed by absorption spectra. Based on the F?rster's theory of non-radiation energy transfer, the binding average distance, r between the donor (BSA) and acceptor (NIM) was found to be 2.17 nm. The association constants of NIM-BSA decreased in presence of the common ions and other drugs thereby indicating the availability of higher concentration of free drug (NIM) in plasma.  相似文献

A few complexes of copper(II) have been prepared by reacting copper(II) acetate with salicylidene methyl anthranilates in alcohol medium. Analytical data indicate 1 : 2 stoichiometry. These copper(II) complexes show normal magnetic moments indicating no spin interactions. With the help of electronic and infrared spectral evidences it has been suggested that in these complexes copper(II) exhibits coordination number six.  相似文献

An analysis of fully developed combined free and forced convective flow in a fluid saturated porous medium channel bounded by two vertical parallel plates is presented. The flow is modeled using Brinkman equation model. The viscous and Darcy dissipation terms are also included in the energy equation. Three types of thermal boundary conditions such as isothermal–isothermal, isoflux–isothermal, and isothermal–isoflux for the left–right walls of the channel are considered. Analytical solutions for the governing ordinary differential equations are obtained by perturbation series method. In addition, closed form expressions for the Nusselt number at both the left and right channel walls are derived. Results have been presented for a wide range of governing parameters such as porous parameter, ratio of Grashof number and Reynolds number, viscosity ratio, width ratio, and conductivity ratio on velocity, and temperature fields. It is found that the presence of porous matrix in one of the region reduces the velocity and temperature.  相似文献
