Unsymmetrical diaryl sulfones through palladium-catalyzed coupling of aryl boronic acids and arylsulfonyl chlorides

[reaction: see text] A simple and efficient method for the synthesis of unsymmetrical diaryl sulfones using the palladium-catalyzed coupling of aryl boronic acids and arylsulfonyl chlorides has been developed. High product yields, a short reaction time, and mild reaction conditions are important features of this method.     

2,4,6-Trichloro-1,3,5-triazine Catalyzed Chemoselective Transthioacetalization of Aldehyde Acetals and Oxathioacetals

Summary. A mild and efficient transthioacetalization of aldehyde acetals and oxathioacetals was carried out using 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine as a mild and inexpensive catalyst. Chemoselective transacetalization is impressive as aldehyde O,O- and O,S-acetals are converted into the corresponding S,S-acetals in the presence of ketones or their acetals and oxathiocetals in nearly quantitative yields.     

Sodium Tetrafluoroborate as a New and Highly Efficient Catalyst for One‐Pot Synthesis of 3,4‐Dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐Ones and Thiones

Sodium tetrafluoroborate (NaBF₄) is found to catalyze the three component condensation of an aldehyde, 1,3‐dicarbonyl compound and urea or thiourea to afford the corresponding 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1 H)‐ones and thiones in high yields. This method is very useful for the synthesis of a wide range of 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1 H)‐ones and thiones from aromatic, heterocyclic, α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes and aliphatic aldehydes.     

Selective Reduction of Aryl Diazonium Fluoroborates1

Substituted aryl diazonium fluoroborates have been selectively reduced to the corresponding phenylhydrazines by using borohydride exchange resin (BER).     

Microwave Assisted Synthesis of Triaryl Cyanurates

Rapid synthesis of triarylcyanurates (2,4,6-triaryloxy-1,3,5-triazine) was carried out by reacting cyanuric chloride with the sodium salt of hydroxyaryl compounds in water using focused microwaves. Environmentally friendly procedure and isolation of pure products in excellent yields are important features of this method.     

Oxidative Deoximation with Sodium Perborate1

An efficient and convenient conversion of oximes to corresponding carbonyl compounds with sodium perborate in glacial acetic acid is reported.
