Reaction of potassium dichromate with gamma-glutamylcysteine, N-acetylcysteine, and cysteine in aqueous solution resulted in the formation of 1:1 complexes of Cr(VI) with the cysteinyl thiolate ligand. The brownish red Cr(VI)-amino acid/peptide complexes exhibited differential stability in aqueous solutions at 4 degrees C and ionic strength = 1.5 M, decreasing in stability in the order: gamma-glutamylcysteine > N-acetylcysteine > cysteine. (1)H, (13)C, and (17)O NMR studies showed that the amino acids act as monodentate ligands and bind to Cr(VI) through the cysteinyl thiolate group, forming RS-Cr(VI)O(3)(-) complexes. No evidence was obtained for involvement of any other possible ligating groups, e.g., amine or carboxylate, of the amino acid/peptide in binding to Cr(VI). EPR studies showed that chromium(V) species at g = 1.973-4 were formed upon reaction of potassium dichromate with gamma-glutamylcysteine and N-acetylcysteine. Reaction of potassium dichromate or sodium dichromate with N-acetylcysteine and the methyl ester of N-acetylcysteine in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) also led to the formation of RS-Cr(VI)O(3)(-) complexes as determined by UV/vis, IR, and (1)H NMR spectroscopy. Thus, an early step in the reaction of Cr(VI) with cysteine and cysteine derviatives in aqueous and DMF solutions involves the formation of RS-CrO(3)(-) complexes. The Cr(VI)-thiolate complexes are more stable in DMF than in aqueous solution, and their stability towards reduction in aqueous solution follows the order cysteine < N-acetylcysteine < gamma-glutamylcysteine < glutathione. 相似文献
A technique is proposed for the direct measurement of the derivatives ?ψ/??, ?Δ/?? and ?/?? (or ? In /? ?) of the ellipsometric (ψ, Δ) and reflectance () parameters of an optically isotropic surface with respect to the angle of incidence (?). A sinusoidal rotational oscillation of small amplitude is applied to the sample around an axis in its surface perpendicular to the plane of incidence and the resulting ac/dc photoelectric signal-ratio η is measured in an ellipsometer with stationary polarizing and analyzing optics. From three such measurements η1, η2, η3 at three different settings of the ellipsometer optics, the amplitudes of the sinusoidal perturbations , and of the ellipsometric and reflectance parameters, caused by the angle-of-incidence oscillation , can be determined. If , and are divided by , we get the desired derivatives ?ψ/??, ?Δ/?? and ? In /??. This technique of Angle-of-Incidence-Derivative Ellipsometry and Reflectometry (given the acronym AIDER) promises to open up new possibilities in surface optics particularly for the measurement of the optical properties of film-substrate systems. 相似文献
The purpose of this work is to study the self-assembling of some synthesized thiol surfactants namely (mercaptopropane-, mercaptohexane-, mercaptooctane-, and mercaptodecane sodium sulfonate) on the fabricated gold nanoparticles. The self-assembling of these surfactants on gold nanoparticles characterized using different techniques such as FTIR spectroscopy, UV spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Spectroscopic evidence suggests that the synthesized thiol surfactants have been attached to the gold nanoparticles. The effect of self-assembling of these surfactants on the size of the gold nanoparticles was studied using TEM images. The growth of the gold nanoparticles was investigated with respect to the increase of alkyl chain in the synthesized thiol surfactants. The results show that the stabilization of gold nanoparticles was affected by the increase in alkyl chain length of these surfactants. The effect of gold nanoparticles on the interfacial tension and the emulsion stability of these surfactants with crude oil was studied. 相似文献
A series of ethoxylated sodium monooctyl sulfosuccinates [E(n)SMOSS] and ethoxylated sodium monolauryl sulfosuccinates [E(n)SMLSS] have different units of ethylene oxide (n = 9, 14, 23) were synthesized. The surface and thermodynamic properties of these surfactants have been compared with sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate surfactant (SDOSS) as a commonly used surfactant. The surface tension measurements at 25, 35, 45, and 55°C were used to determine of the critical micelle concentration (CMC) and surface active properties of these surfactants. The effect of the ethylene oxide (EO) unit and the alkyl chain length on the surface properties for the prepared surfactants was studied. The results show that the ethoxylated sodium monoalkyl sulfosuccinates generally have lower values of CMC than that of sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate. The values of surface active parameters indicate that the ethoxylated sodium monooctyl sulfosuccinates and ethoxylated sodium monolauryl sulfosuccinates surfactants have adsorption properties better than the sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate surfactant as a resulted presence of ethylene oxide in molecules of the prepared surfactants. The thermodynamic parameters show that the (EO) unites in the chemical structure of ethoxylated sodium monoalkyl sulfosuccinate surfactants improve their micellization and adsorption properties. 相似文献
A new series of tetrahydroquinoline derivatives having pyrazol and hydrazide moieties were synthesized for the purpose of anticancer cell line evaluation. Syntheses of these compounds were firstly achieved by one pot four reactions. The reaction of 3-amino-tetrahydro-1H-pyrazolo [3,4-b]quinolin with aldehydes, indoline-2,3-dione derivatives to give 9a-c , 11a-c , and 13a,b , respectively. In similar manner for biological comparison, the reactions of compound 5 with the same aldehydes and indoline-2,3-dione derivatives to give 19a-c and 20a-c . The newly synthesized compounds were examined in vitro for their cytotoxic activity against HepG-2 and A549 cancer cells. The compounds 11a-c and 20a-c showed promising activity as anticancer agents against HepG-2 and A549 cancer cells. 相似文献
Analysis of Raman and neutron scattering spectra of lysozyme demonstrates that the protein dynamics follow the dynamics of the solvents glycerol and trehalose over the entire temperature range measured 100-350 K. The protein's fast conformational fluctuations and low-frequency vibrations and their temperature variations are very sensitive to behavior of the solvents. Our results give insight into previous counterintuitive observations that protein relaxation is stronger in solid trehalose than in liquid glycerol. They also provide insight into the effectiveness of glycerol as a biological cryopreservant. 相似文献
A symmetric achiral trilayer structure, which consists of a high-index center layer sandwiched between two identical low-index films and embedded in a high-index prism, is designed to produce equal and opposite quarter-wave retardation in reflection and transmission and equal throughput for the p and s polarization at oblique incidence. Such a device splits a beam of incident linearly polarized light into two orthogonally circularly polarized components of equal power that travel in different directions. A visible (633-nm) design that operates at a 60 degree angle of incidence and an infrared (10.6-microm) 45 degree cube design are presented. MHD mixed free-forced heat and mass convective steady incompressible laminar boundary layer flow of a gray optically thick electrically conducting viscous fluid past a semi-infinite inclined plate for high temperature and concentration differences is studied. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plate. The density of the fluid is assumed to reduce exponentially with temperature and concentration. The usual Boussinesq approximation is neglected due to the high temperature and concentration differences between the plate and the ambient fluid. The Rosseland approximation is used to describe the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. The boundary layer equations governing the flow are reduced to ordinary differential equations, which are numerically solved by applying an efficient technique. The effects of the density/temperature parameter n, the density/concentration parameter m, the local magnetic parameter Mx and the radiation parameter R are examined on the velocity, temperature and concentration distributions as well as the coefficients of skin-friction, heat flux and mass flux. 相似文献
