Biodistribution study of free and microencapsulated 6‐methylcoumarin in Wistar rats by HPLC

A sensitive, specific and reproducible HPLC method has been developed and validated for the quantitative determination of 6‐methylcoumarin (6MC) in plasma and other tissues in Wistar rats. A C₁₈ column was used with UV detection at 321 nm and a gradient system consisting of methanol‐deionized water was used as mobile phase. The retention time for 6MC was 14.921 min and no interfering peaks were observed for any of the matrices. Linear relationships (r² > 0.997) were obtained between the peak height ratios and the corresponding biological sample concentrations over the range 0.4–12.8 µg/mL. Precision and accuracy were evaluated; the coefficient of variation and the relative error for all of the organs were <2 and 7%, respectively. The limit of quantitation was 0.20 µg/mL for the heart and 0.30 µg/mL for the other tissues evaluated. This HPLC method was successfully used in the determination of 6MC in the biodistribution study after administration of 200 mg/kg of both 6MC‐free and 6MC‐loaded polymeric microparticles. In this study, extensive 6MC was found, in both free and microencapsulated forms, in all the organs tested. The 6MC‐free showed a range of between 1.7 and 11.5 µg/g, while the microencapsulated 6MC showed concentrations of between 6.35 and 17.7 µg/g, suggesting that 6MC improved absorption rate. Synthesis and characterization of some Cr(III), Fe(III) and Zr(IV) compounds with substituted o-hydroxy benzophenone

This work presents our data concerning the synthesis and characterization of some Cr(III), Fe(III) and Zr(IV) complexes with substituted (2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-phenyl)-phenyl-methanone - C₁₄H₁₂O₃, denoted by (L1). The synthesis of these complex compounds was performed using melted urea as reaction medium. The obtained complexes have been studied by chemical analysis, IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis. Based on the data resulting from the thermal behaviour of the studied complex compounds, the kinetic parameters of the thermal decomposition reactions have been determined. Thioureas from 3-aminoquinazolin-4(3H)-one. 2. Unusual alkaline recyclization of 3-(N",N",S-trialkylisothioureido)quinazolin-4(3H)-ones into new 1,3,4-oxadiazoles

3-(N",N",S-trialkylisothioureido)quinazolin-4(3H)-ones obtained by the reactions of 3-(N",N"-dialkylthioureido)quinazolin-4(3H)-ones with alkyl halides undergo unusual recyclization into 5-(2-aminophenyl)-2-dialkylamino-1,3,4-oxadiazoles under the action of aqueous solutions of alkali, hydrazine, and primary aliphatic amines. A plausible mechanism of the recyclization was proposed.

The Role of Information in Managing Interactions from a Multifractal Perspective

In the framework of the multifractal hydrodynamic model, the correlations informational entropy–cross-entropy manages attractive and repulsive interactions through a multifractal specific potential. The classical dynamics associated with them imply Hubble-type effects, Galilei-type effects, and dependences of interaction constants with multifractal degrees at various scale resolutions, while the insertion of the relativistic amendments in the same dynamics imply multifractal transformations of a generalized Lorentz-type, multifractal metrics invariant to these transformations, and an estimation of the dimension of the multifractal Universe. In such a context, some correspondences with standard cosmologies are analyzed. Since the same types of interactions can also be obtained as harmonics mapping between the usual space and the hyperbolic plane, two measures with uniform and non-uniform temporal flows become functional, temporal measures analogous with Milne’s temporal measures in a more general manner. This work furthers the analysis published recently by our group in “Towards Interactions through Information in a Multifractal Paradigm”.     

Studies on the Electronic Transport Properties of some New Chelate Compounds Containing Siloxane

The temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity and the Seebeck coefficient of some new complex polymeric structures containing metal chelate sequences alternating with silane units were studied. The measurements were performed using thin films deposited from solution. The investigated polymers have interesting semiconducting characteristics. The correlations between these characteristics and the molecular structure of the respective polymers are discussed.
