Self-Adjoint Toeplitz Operators Associated with Representing Measures on Multiply Connected Planar Regions and Their Eigenvalues

A direct calculation of the vector of Riemann constants corresponding to the marked double of a multiply connected planar region is given. The existence of eigenvalues of self-adjoint Toeplitz operators acting on Hardy spaces associated with non-negative representing measures on 1-holed planar regions is established in the case where there exists one bounded component in the complement of the essential range of the symbol $\phi $ of the operator. The analysis is done by using the zeros of translations of theta functions restricted to $\mathbb R $ in $\mathbb C $ .     

Zinc chloride catalyzed synthesis of 5-substituted 1H-tetrazoles under solvent free condition

Zinc chloride is an efficient and safe catalyst in the[3 + 2]cycloaddition reaction of organic nitriles with sodium azide in solventless condition.The corresponding S-substituted 1H tetrazoles were obtained under mild conditions.This method can overcome disadvantages such as:the use of toxic metals and expensive reagents,drastic reaction conditions,water sensitivity and the presence of dangerous hydrazoic acid.

Hammett constants and NMR shifts of α-acyloxy carboxamide derivatives

Geometrical structures, Hammett constants, ¹H and ¹³C chemical shift values, molecular electrostatic potential maps, and several thermodynamic parameters of α-acyloxy carboxamide derivatives (4a–o) were calculated using HF and DFT/B3LYP methods with 6-31G(d) basis set. The optimized structures were compared with analogous compound. The ¹H and ¹³C NMR shielding tensors were computed with the Gauge-Independent Atomic Orbital (GIAO) method. Comparison of the experimental ¹H and ¹³C NMR chemical shifts of 4a–o molecules with the theoretical data indicates good agreement.     

Nonequilibrium Effects and Multiphase Flow in Porous Media

In this paper we develop a more general formulation for transient multiphase flow in porous media based on physics observed in core-scale and micromodel experiments. We account for non-equilibrium effects by considering redistribution time and treat saturation by evolving locally moving time-averages of the saturation. Several families of models arise from approximations to the general formulation with various degrees of accuracy. The classical Buckley-Leverett and Barenblatt expressions are special cases of these families. We explore the behaviors of a number of special cases arising from the proposed general formulation using established and novel numerical schemes that provide nonlinear physics-based preconditioning. The agreement observed between numerical and experimental results demonstrates the consistency of the proposed abstraction.
