Abstract

Taxol is one of the anticancer drugs synthesized naturally in the evergreen Taxus brevifolia forest tree belonging to the yew family (Taxaceae) growing on the Pacific. There are reportedly evidence for treating ovarian, breast and lung cancers through this drug given its unique structural and functional features. Extraction of this drug from yew trees bark is one of the most common ways of producing this drug, but 3000 trees are needed to obtain a kilogram of Taxol. Hence, further attention has recently been attracted to the metabolic engineering strategies, including, engineering cellular metabolism of microorganisms and their optimization. Accordingly, the present paper article was aimed to review recent advances in elevating the production and commercialization of Taxol through metabolic engineering techniques.  相似文献

A simple coprecipitation method was used for preparation of monoclinic nanostructured NiWO4 from an aqueous solution at a fixed pH and temperature of 7.0 and 80 °C, respectively. The prepared material was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and electrochemical measurements. Nano-NiWO4 was incorporated into a carbon paste electrode and by means of cyclic voltammetry; the electrochemical behavior of methylene blue on the surface of nano-NiWO4 was investigated. A mechanism on terms of obtained cyclic voltammograms showing one reduction peak and two sequential oxidation peaks was suggested by emphasizing on the stabilizing role of nano-NiWO4 for semi-methylene blue. A diffusion coefficient of 5.30?×?10?6 cm2/s was gained for methylene blue.  相似文献

Densities and viscosities of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium nitrate [Bmim][NO3], and its binaries with alcohol (ethanol, 1-propanol, or 1-butanol) were measured at different temperatures. The densities and viscosities of pure ionic liquid were correlated successfully by empirical equations. The Vogel–Fulcher–Tammann equations can fit the experimental data of viscosities for pure IL. Excess molar volume and viscosity deviations were calculated for the binaries. The excess molar volumes have negative deviations from the ideal solution.  相似文献

The thermodynamic consistency test of solubility P–T–x data for binary mixtures including carbon dioxide (CO2) + a room temperature ionic liquid has been investigated. Experimental solubility data taken from the open literature for 32 binary mixtures of CO2/RTILs contains 80 isotherms. The applied consistency test is based on the fundamental Gibbs–Duhem equation with use of the generic Redlich–Kwong (GRK) equation of state (EoS) coupled with the van der Waals–Berthelot (GRK/vdWB) mixing rule. The optimum parameters were obtained by minimizing the summation of per cent relative deviations between modeled and experimental data, based on the bubble pressure algorithm. Modeling was found acceptable for all isotherms, which demonstrated the usability of the GRK equation of state. Results of the thermodynamic consistency test showed that 36 of the isothermal data sets were thermodynamically consistent, 37 were not fully consistent, 6 were thermodynamically inconsistent and only one data set was found to need another model.  相似文献

In situ generated copper acetylides react with isocyanates and oxiranes to form a decent range of morpholine derivatives. The reactions proceeded with acceptable yields and excellent regioselectivity. The presence of oxygen and moisture completely inhibited the reaction. The scope of the reaction is wide and the reactions involve consecutive C–C, C–N, and C–O bond formations.  相似文献

We report fabrication and testing of the first phosphate glass microstructured fiber lasers with large Er-Yb-codoped cores. For an 11-cm-long cladding-pumped fiber laser, more than 3 W of continuous wave output power is demonstrated, and near single-mode beam quality is obtained for an active core area larger than 400 microm2.  相似文献

Living Micrococcus luteus (M. luteus) and Escherichia coli (E. coli) are encapsulated in poly(vinyl alcohol), poly(vinylpyrrolidone), hydroxypropyl cellulose, and gelatin by high‐temperature spray drying. The challenge is the survival of the bacteria during the standard spray‐drying process at temperatures of 150 °C (M. luteus) and 120 °C (E. coli). Raman imaging and transmission electron microscopy indicate encapsulated bacteria in hollow composite microparticles. The versatility of the spray‐dried polymer bacteria microparticles is successfully proved by standard polymer solution–processing techniques such as electrospinning, even with harmful solvents, to water‐insoluble polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate), and poly(vinyl butyrate) nanofiber nonwovens, which opens numerous new opportunities for novel applications.  相似文献

We present a method for ultra-low-loss coupling between two single-mode optical fibers with different mode-field diameters using multimode interference in a graded-index multimode optical fiber. We perform a detailed analysis of the interference effects and show that the graded-index fiber can also be used as a beam expander or condenser. The results are important for devices in which optical fibers with different mode-field diameters are coupled in series, such as in ultra-short-pulse fiber ring lasers, or in optical fiber communication links.  相似文献

One of the main concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic was the protection of healthcare workers against the novel coronavirus. The critical role and vulnerability of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic leads us to derive a mathematical model to express the spread of coronavirus between the healthcare workers. In the first step, the SECIRH model is introduced, and then the mathematical equations are written. The proposed model includes eight state variables, i.e., Susceptible, Exposed, Carrier, Infected, Hospitalized, ICU admitted, Dead, and finally Recovered. In this model, the vaccination, protective equipment, and recruitment policy are considered as preventive actions. The formal confirmed data provided by the Iranian ministry of health is used to simulate the proposed model. The simulation results revealed that the proposed model has a high degree of consistency with the actual COVID-19 daily statistics. In addition, the roles of vaccination, protective equipment, and recruitment policy for the elimination of coronavirus among the healthcare workers are investigated. The results of this research help the policymakers to adopt the best decisions against the spread of coronavirus among healthcare workers.
