Palladium-containing zeolites catalyze the cycloisomerization of diethyl diallylmalonate to dimethylcyclopentenes. When the reaction is carried out in toluene, the performance of the palladium catalyst depends on the pore size of the zeolites. At 60 °C, palladium adsorbed on large pore size Beta zeolite (pore size ∼7.4 Å) is more active than medium pore size ZSM-5 (pore size ∼5.4 Å). This lower activity of ZSM-5 compared to Beta is attributable to the restricted diffusion of reagent and products through the ZSM-5 channels as compared to Beta zeolite. However, due to the gas-like diffusion characteristic of the supercritical state, the activity of ZSM-5 increases and becomes identical to that of Beta zeolite using supercritical CO2 as medium.  相似文献

This article describes the formation and characterization of self‐assembled nanoparticles of controlled sizes based on amphiphilic block copolymers synthesized by ring‐opening metathesis polymerization. We synthesized a novel hydrophobic derivative of norbornene; this monomer could be polymerized using Grubbs' catalyst [Cl2Ru(CHPh)(PCy3)2] forming polymers of controlled molecular weight. We synthesized amphiphilic block copolymers of controlled composition and showed that they assemble into nanoparticles of controlled size. The nanoparticles were characterized using dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy. Tuning the composition of the block copolymer enables the tuning of the diameters of the nanoparticles in the 30‐ to 80‐nm range. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We briefly review the five possible real polynomial solutions of hypergeometric differential equations. Three of them are the well known classical orthogonal polynomials, but the other two are different with respect to their orthogonality properties. We then focus on the family of polynomials which exhibits a finite orthogonality. This family, to be referred to as the Romanovski polynomials, is required in exact solutions of several physics problems ranging from quantum mechanics and quark physics to random matrix theory. It appears timely to draw attention to it by the present study. Our survey also includes several new observations on the orthogonality properties of the Romanovski polynomials and new developments from their Rodrigues formula.  相似文献

The responses of the malleus and the stapes to sinusoidal acoustic stimulation have been measured in the middle ears of anesthetized chinchillas using the M?ssbauer technique. With "intact" bullas (i.e., closed except for venting via capillary tubing), the vibrations of the tip of the malleus reach a maximal peak velocity of about 2 mm/s in responses to 100-dB SPL tones in the frequency range 500-6000 Hz; vibration velocity diminishes toward lower frequencies with a slope of about 6 dB/oct. Opening the bulla widely increases the responses to low-frequency stimuli by as much as 16 dB. At low frequencies, malleus response sensitivity with either open or intact bullas far exceeds all previous measurements in cats and matches or exceeds such measurements in guinea pigs. Whether measured in open or intact bullas, phase-versus-frequency curves closely approximate those predicted from the magnitude-versus-frequency curves by minimum phase theory. The stapes responses are similar to those of the malleus, except that stapes response magnitude is lower, on the average, by 7.5 dB at frequencies below 2 kHz and 10.7 dB at 2 kHz and above. Comparison of the responses of the middle ear with those of the basilar membrane at a site 3.5 mm from the stapes indicates that, at frequencies below 150 Hz, the basilar membrane displacement is proportional to stapes acceleration. At frequencies between 150 and 2000 Hz, basilar membrane displacement is proportional to stapes velocity.  相似文献

We present a modification of the Cyclic Subgradient Projection (CSP) method by Censor and Lent, which solves the convex feasibility problem in a finite number of steps when a Slater type condition holds, while preserving its row-action properties. On the basis of comparisons of responses of guinea pig ganglion cells and inner hair cells to intense low-frequency tones, Sellick et al. [Hear. Res. 7, 199-221 (1982)] have proposed that basal inner hair cells can be depolarized (and thus, VIII-N. spikes generated) by the extracellular microphonic generated during hyperpolarization of outer hair cells. VIII-N. data for the chinchilla have been presented that, to a first approximation, support such a hypothesis [Ruggero and Rich, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 73, 2096-2108 (1983)]. However, an apparent discrepancy exists in our results, vis à vis Sellick et al.'s hypothesis, in that basal fiber near-threshold responses precede maximal negativity of the round window microphonic (i.e., maximal hyperpolarization of outer hair cells) by up to 90 degrees (but generally less than 45 degrees), depending on frequency. It is shown here that the discrepancy is resolved if certain nonlinear phase changes and overall distortion of the microphonic waveshapes, both of which occur at intense stimulus levels, are taken into account. It is also shown that compound action potentials (AP's), superimposed on the round window microphonics, can be identified at multiple times within each stimulus cycle, closely matching the near-threshold response phases of single-unit excitation. AP1 is nearly synchronous with the negative-to-positive transition of round window microphonics and with the excitation of fibers innervating apical-to-middle cochlear regions. AP2 is synchronous with the positive-to-negative transition of the microphonics and with the excitation of basal fibers. One or two other AP's probably reflect "peak splitting" in the responses of both basal and apical fibers.  相似文献

Preparation of hybrid organic-inorganic MCM-41 and SBA-15 silicas functionalized with perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid groups has been achieved in a single step by reacting the mesoporous silicas with 1,2,2-trifluoro-2-hydroxy-1-trifluoromethylethane sulfonic acid beta-sultone; the catalysts showed higher activity than commercial Nafion-silica composite for the esterification of long chain fatty acids with ethanol.  相似文献

Pyrazol-l'-ylpyridines undergo electrophilic substitution reactions (bromination, chlorination, and nitration) preferentially in the pyrazole ring. There is some evidence of the mutual influence of the pyrazole and the pyridine ring on the reactivity of the system. Some modifications of the substituents were also carried out. A dihydro derivative of a new ring system, pyrazolo[1′,2′-a]pyrido[2,1-c][l,2,4]triazine was also obtained.  相似文献

Three N-alkylpyridinium photosensitizers having chiral alkyl groups have been prepared by reacting 2,4,6-triphenylpyrylium tetrafluoroborate ion with (1R,2S)-(-)-norephedrine, (S)-(+)-2-(aminomethyl)pyrrolidine, and (R)-(-)-1-cyclohexylethylamine. Laser flash photolysis allows detection of the corresponding triplet excited states that are quenched by hydrogen atom donors and electron donors. Asymmetric quenching of the chiral triplet excited state was observed using enantiomerically pure 1,2-diamino cyclohexane as quencher. Low enantiomeric excess values (up to 7%) were measured for the photochemical cyclization of 5-methyl-4-hexenoic acid to its corresponding gamma-lactone using these chiral N-alkylpyridinium as photosensitizers.  相似文献

A very simple methodology to stereoselectively achieve tricyclic isonucleosides (nucleobase = thymine, uracil, and 5-fluoruracil) and 3'-C-branched nucleosides (nucleobase = theophylline) was performed by means of a DBU-mediated addition process using a readily available 2-bromo sugar. The mechanism for these transformations implies the loss of both substituents at C-2 and C-3 on the sugar moiety, and although it seems that DBU is probably involved, its involvement has not yet been ascertained.
