A new method has been developed to simultaneously analyse bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE) in aqueous based food simulants. The method consists on direct immersion solid-phase microextraction (SPME) of the analytes from the liquid matrix and subsequent chromatographic analysis by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Using the proposed method, a whole analysis (including chromatographic step) can be completed in less than 40 min, with minimum sample handling. The SPME method shows good analytical performance for simultaneous BPA and BADGE analysis, except for BADGE determination in the aqueous alcohol (simulant C) solution. Detection limits ranging from 0.1 to 2.0 ng/g for BPA and from 13 to 15 ng/g from BADGE were obtained, with a linear range from the low-ng/g to several-microg/g range for BPA and from 0.1 microg/g to 40 microg/g for BADGE. A possible optimisation method has been also developed and introduced.  相似文献

An investigation into the selectivity of an iminodiacetic acid (IDA) modified silica gel column for transition and heavy metal ions using non-chelating inorganic eluents has been carried out. A number of eluent parameters were investigated to determine the exact retention mechanism taking place and to control selectivity. The parameters studied were eluent ionic strength and the nature of the inorganic salt used, eluent pH and eluent temperature. The results obtained showed how despite certain metal ions exhibiting similar stability constants with the bonded IDA groups, careful control of each of the above parameters, in particular eluent chloride ion concentration and eluent temperature, could result in large changes in selectivity. Optimal conditions for the isocratic and gradient separation of Mg(II), Ca(II), Mn(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) were determined. An isocratic method using a 0.035 M KCl, 0.065 M KNO3 (pH 2.5) eluent was successfully applied to the determination of Mn(II), Cd(II), Co(II) and Zn(II) at concentrations between 20 and 121 microg/l in a freshwater certified reference material (NIST 1640).  相似文献

Granular films composed of nanometric Co particles embedded in an insulating ZrO2 matrix were prepared by pulsed laser deposition in a wide range of Co volume concentrations (0.06<xv<0.42). High-resolution electron microscopy (HREM) shows very sharp interfaces between the crystalline particles and the amorphous matrix, with no evidence of intermixing. The mean particles size and width of the distribution determined by fitting the low-field magnetic susceptibility and magnetization curves in the paramagnetic regime to a distribution of Langevin functions are in agreement with the parameters extracted from direct TEM observations. Ferromagnetic correlations between Co particles are evident in the field-cooled state when increasing Co concentration. The effective anisotropy constant estimated from magnetic measurements is about two orders of magnitude larger than the bulk value, and decreases as particle size increases.  相似文献

Two new generation polymeric resins, Bond Elut ENV (styrene-divinylbenzene) from Varian and LiChrolut EN (ethylvinylbenzene-divinylbenzene) from Merck, commonly used in liquid--solid-phase extraction (SPE) were evaluated as sorbents for gas-phase sampling followed by thermal desorption and compared to Tenax TA, a reference sorbent in this kind of applications. The three resins were tested against seven volatile organic compounds (VOCs): 1-octene, ethylbenzene, (p-, m-, o-)xylenes, styrene and 1,4-dichlorobenzene. Elution curves for all compounds were determined at temperatures from 120 to 180 degrees C, and from such curves, different parameters, such as retention factor (k), distribution coefficient (K), height equivalent to a theoretical plate (H), asymmetry factor (Fa) and breakthrough volume (VB) were calculated and extrapolated at room (25 degrees C) and desorption (220 degrees C) temperatures in order to estimate breakthrough and elution volumes. In average, retention in LiChrolut EN is 10 and 200 times stronger than in Bond Elut ENV and Tenax TA, respectively, but its chromatographic behavior is rather poor giving quite asymmetric elution profiles (Fa >1.8 at 120 degrees C). Bond Elut ENV exhibited the best chromatographic behavior, with H values two or five times lower than those of LiChrolut EN or Tenax TA. An additional advantage of the new sorbents is that retention decreases with T much faster than it does in Tenax (8 or 20 times for Bond Elut ENV or LiChrolut EN). Modeling has finally shown that beds with 60-80 (for Bond Elut ENV) or 300-400 (for LiChrolut EN) times less of sorbent have the same retention properties than standard Tenax TA tubes and similar (LiChrolut EN) or five to six times smaller (Bond Elut ENV) elution volumes. Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A3 (ALDH1A3) has recently gained attention from researchers in the cancer field. Several studies have reported ALDH1A3 overexpression in different cancer types, which has been found to correlate with poor treatment recovery. Therefore, finding selective inhibitors against ALDH1A3 could result in new treatment options for cancer treatment. In this study, ALDH1A3-selective candidates were designed based on the physiological substrate resemblance, synthesized and investigated for ALDH1A1, ALDH1A3 and ALDH3A1 selectivity and cytotoxicity using ALDH-positive A549 and ALDH-negative H1299 cells. Two compounds (ABMM-15 and ABMM-16), with a benzyloxybenzaldehyde scaffold, were found to be the most potent and selective inhibitors for ALDH1A3, with IC50 values of 0.23 and 1.29 µM, respectively. The results also show no significant cytotoxicity for ABMM-15 and ABMM-16 on either cell line. However, a few other candidates (ABMM-6, ABMM-24, ABMM-32) showed considerable cytotoxicity on H1299 cells, when compared to A549 cells, with IC50 values of 14.0, 13.7 and 13.0 µM, respectively. The computational study supported the experimental results and suggested a good binding for ABMM-15 and ABMM-16 to the ALDH1A3 isoform. From the obtained results, it can be concluded that benzyloxybenzaldehyde might be considered a promising scaffold for further drug discovery aimed at exploiting ALDH1A3 for therapeutic intervention.  相似文献

An SPME method was developed for sampling gaseous 2,4-toluene diisocyanate (2,4-TDI) involving derivatisation of the isocyanate by reacting with dibutylamine (DBA). The TDI-DBA derivative thus formed was determined by LC–MS–MS utilising atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI). As a first step, DBA was loaded onto a poly(dimethylsiloxane)/divinylbenzene (PDMS–DVB) fibre coating by direct vapour-phase extraction of a highly concentrated diethyl ether solution of DBA. The DBA-loaded fibre was then exposed to an artificially generated atmosphere of gaseous 2,4-TDI. The linearity of the method ranged from 52.8 to 3100 μg m–3 (6.8 to 400 ppbv) with a sampling time of 60 min. The proposed method has been applied to 2,4-TDI determination in an artificially generated dynamic standard atmosphere, yielding an approximate method detection limit (MDL) of 2 μg m–3 (0.25 ppbv). This concentration is one twentieth of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exposure limit. The sampler with the PDMS–DVB-DBA coating was found to be stable and retains the required amount of DBA for at least 10 days, an important feature for sampling systems with potential in-situ applications. The most recent contributions on solventless extraction techniques have been reviewed. This paper deals with those techniques that use solid phases, such as solid-phase microextraction, liquid phases, such as single-drop microextraction and hollow-fibre liquid-phase microextraction, and subcritical fluids, such as subcritical water extraction. In all cases, the most recent publications have been critically studied. Direct extraction and derivatization processes to facilitate the extraction of analytes in different areas have been included. Hyphenated approaches, if available, are also included in this review. Comparison of techniques organized by analytes and matrices also enhances this critical overview of solventless techniques.  相似文献

Subnanometric cobalt metallic particles, with an average size of 0.8 nm and an estimated number of 50 atoms, have been stabilized in the confined spaces within the nanopores of crystalline molecular sieves. Remarkably, these clusters show a rapid vanishing of the magnetization as the temperature is increased from 10 to 20 K because of the ferromagnetic-paramagnetic transition together with thermal fluctuations of the remaining moment. This dramatic reduction of the transition temperature is due to strong finite size effects. Such behavior, predicted for very small metallic particles, was never observed before due to the inherent difficulty in achieving subnanometric stable metallic particles.  相似文献
