Hydrazones Possessing a Phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline Moiety as Hole Transporting Materials

Hydrazones containing 1-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline units were synthesized starting from diphenylamine. These compounds were found to constitute novel hole transporting materials and were characterized by the time of flight method. The hole drift mobility in these compounds exceeds 10⁻⁶ cm² V⁻¹ s⁻¹ at an electric field of 10⁶ V cm⁻¹.     

Low-temperaturic template synthesis of macrocyclic cobalt(III) chelates with (N,N,S,S)-donor atomic ligands in the cobalt(II)–dithiooxamide-formaldehyde and cobalt(II)–dithiooxamide-glyoxal systems in the Co2[Fe(CN)6]-gelatin-immobilized matrices

The complexing processes in the triple cobalt(II)–dithiooxamide-formaldehyde and cobalt(II)–dithiooxamide-glyoxal systems taking place in the cobalt(II)hexacyanoferrate(II) gelatin-immobilized matrix in contact with aqueous alkaline solutions (pH ca. 12) containing (dithiooxamide+formaldehyde) and (dithiooxamide+glyoxal), have been studied. Template synthesis leading to macrocyclic coordination compounds with tetradentate N,N,S,S-donor ligands-(2,8-dithio-3,7-diaza-5-oxanonan-dithioamide-1,9) and (2,7-dithio-3,6-diazaoctadien-3,5-dithioamide-1,8) with Co^II–Co^III redox-process occurs under these specific conditions where dithiooxamide, formaldehyde and glyoxal are the ligand synthons.     

Luminescent properties of PP and LDPE films and rods doped with the Eu(III)‐La(III) complex

The work is devoted to luminescent properties of trivalent lanthanide complexes dispersed in thermoplastic host matrices. Polyethylene films and polypropylene‐rods, both doped with these complexes, were manufactured using an extrusion technique. Two kinds of dopants were used: Eu(III)‐thenoyltrifluoroacetone‐1,10‐phenanthroline complex (1) and Eu(III)‐La(III)‐1,10‐phenanthroline complex (2). Absorption, excitation, emission spectra and lifetime of luminescence were studied. The impact of the polymer matrix on the emission spectra was investigated. Emission spectra of the films were studied at room and helium temperatures. Time‐of‐flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF‐SIMS) surface mapping showed that in the Eu(III)‐La(III) complex europium forms islands (clusters) with a dimension of 1 µm, whereas lanthanum was dispersed more uniformly in the polymer matrix. Synthesis of 1,2-Diphenylpyrazolidin-4-ol and its Derivatives

Summary. A synthesis of 1,2-diphenylpyrazolidin-4-ol via direct heterocyclization of 1,2-diphenylhydrazine with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, its O-epoxypropyl-, O-ethyl-, and O-benzylderivatives are described. Novel hydrazone derivatives with pyrazolidine units were also synthesized. The compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods as well as elemental analyses.     

Highly Enantioselective Hydrogenation of β‐Alkyl and β‐(ω‐Chloroalkyl) Substituted β‐Keto Esters

Highly enantioselective hydrogenation of β‐alkyl and β‐(ω‐chloroalkyl) substituted β‐keto esters was achieved with Ru catalysts based on chiral diphosphines in EtOH at 50°C under 50‐bar initial hydrogen pressure, affording the corresponding β‐hydroxy esters in >98% ee.
