Synthesis of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-{2-[1-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)ethoxy]ethyl}-cytisinecarbothioamide and steric structure of its hydrolysis product, <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(2-hydroxyethyl)cytisinecarbothioamide

The reaction of 2-[1-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)ethoxy]ethyl isothiocyanate with alkaloid cytisine gave the corresponding thiourea derivative which was subjected to partial hydrolysis on heating in boiling aqueous ethanol or complete hydrolysis in the presence of a catalytic amount of an acid. The structure of the hydrolysis product, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)cytisinecarbothioamide, was proved by X-ray analysis.     

Synthesis and crystal structure of cytisino-<Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(2-hydroxyethyl)-thiocarbamide

A thiourea derivative of the alkaloid cytisine was synthesized by reacting it with 1-propargyloxyethoxyethylisothiocyanate. It was shown that the synthesized acetal thiourea derivative underwent hydrolysis in acidic medium to cytisino-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-thiocarbamide, the molecular structure of which was confirmed by an x-ray structure analysis. Synthesis of N-alkaloidacyl derivatives of phenothiazine

Compounds in which cytisine, anabasine, D-pseudoephedrine, and L-ephedrine fragments are linked to the phenothiazine nitrogen atom via acyl group were synthesized. These compounds are potential drugs, and their activity was confirmed by computer prediction using PASS software.     

Synthesis and fungicidal activity of alkaloid-containing carbohydrates

N-Glycosylamines, triethylammonium salt of xylosyl-and glucosylbenzyldithiocarbamates, and their derivatives containing fragments of alkaloids were synthesized; some of these substances exhibit fungicidal activity.     

Synthesis of thiourea derivatives of the alkaloid anabasine and crystal structure of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(anabasino1-thiocarbonyl)furan-2-carboxamide

A series of new N-acylsubstituted thioureas, the compositions and structures of which were determined by IR and PMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, were synthesized from the alkaloid anabasine. The crystal structure of one of the products, N-(anabasino-1-thiocarbonyl)furan-2-carboxamide, was confirmed by x-ray structure analysis. Steric structure of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(2-Hydrazono-2-hydroxyethyl)-<Emphasis Type="Italic">d</Emphasis>-pseudoephedrine and its intramolecular heterocyclization under the action of orthoformic ester

An X-ray structural investigation of N-(2-hydrazono-2-hydroxyethyl)-d-pseudoephedrine is performed, and intramolecular heterocyclization of this compound with orthoformic ester is studied. The final reaction product is found to be a compound containing a morpholone ring rather than substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole.
