Monolayers of lead selenide nanocrystals of a few nanometers in height have been made by electrodeposition on a Au(111) substrate. These layers show a thickness-dependent dielectric function, which was determined using spectroscopic ellipsometry. The experimental results are compared with electronic structure calculations of the imaginary part of the dielectric function of PbSe nanocrystals. We demonstrate that the size-dependent variation of the dielectric function is affected by quantum confinement at well-identifiable points in the Brillouin zone, different from the position of the band-gap transition. 相似文献

We report a method of engineering generalized synchronization (GS) in chaotic oscillators using an open-plus-closed-loop coupling strategy. The coupling is defined in terms of a transformation matrix that maps a chaotic driver onto a response oscillator where the elements of the matrix can be arbitrarily chosen, and thereby allows a precise control of the GS state. We elaborate the scheme with several examples of transformation matrices. The elements of the transformation matrix are chosen as constants, time varying function, state variables of the driver, and state variables of another chaotic oscillator. Numerical results of GS in mismatched Ro?ssler oscillators as well as nonidentical oscillators such as Ro?ssler and Chen oscillators are presented. 相似文献

This paper introduces and analyzes an evolutionary model of a financial market with a risk-free asset. Focus is on the study
of local stability of the wealth dynamics through the application of recent results on the linearization and stability of
random dynamical systems (Evstigneev et al. Proc Am Math Soc 139:1061–1072, 2011). Conditions are derived for the linearization of the model at an equilibrium state which ensure local convergence of sample
paths to this equilibrium. The paper also shows that the concept of local stability is closely related to the notion of evolutionary
stability. A locally evolutionarily stable investment strategy in the evolutionary model with a risk-free asset is derived,
extending previous research. The method illustrated here is applicable for the analysis of manifold economic and financial

The influence of macro-scale heterogeneities on the imbibition process is investigated for Savonnières, a French layered limestone. Free uptake experiments are performed both parallel and perpendicular to the bedding. It is found that the position of the different layers, and the exact material properties inside each layer can significantly influence the imbibition process. The experimental results are compared with numerical simulations. For the flow simulations, moisture permeability of the different layers is obtained with the upscaling technique presented in Part 1. Good agreement between simulations and experiments validate the proposed upscaling from meso to macroscopic scale. 相似文献

Ligand exchange is central in the processing of inorganic nanocrystals (NCs) and requires understanding of surface chemistry. Studying sterically stabilized HfO2 and ZrO2 NCs using 1H solution NMR and IR spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis, this paper demonstrates the reversible exchange of initial oleic acid ligands for octylamine and self‐adsorption of oleic acid at NC surfaces. Both processes are incompatible with an X‐type binding motif of carboxylic acids as reported for sulfide and selenide NCs. We argue that this behavior stems from the dissociative adsorption of carboxylic acids at the oxide surface. Both proton and carboxylate moieties must be regarded as X‐type ligands yielding a combined X2 binding motif that allows for self‐adsorption and exchange for L‐type ligands. 相似文献

We performed photoluminescence experiments on colloidal, Co2+-doped ZnO nanocrystals in order to study the electronic properties of Co2+ in a ZnO host. Room temperature measurements showed, next to the ZnO exciton and trap emission, an additional emission related to the Co2+ dopant. The spectral position and width of this emission does not depend on particle size or Co2+ concentration. At 8 K, a series of ZnO bulk phonon replicas appear on the Co2+-emission band. We conclude that Co2+ ions are strongly localized in the ZnO host, making the formation of a Co2+d-band unlikely. Magnetic measurements revealed a paramagnetic behaviour. 相似文献
