In distinction from the well-known double-negation embeddings of the classical logic we consider some variants of single-negation embeddings and describe some classes of superintuitionistic first-order predicate logics in which the classical first-order calculus is interpretable in such a way. The self-diffusion of benzene, toluene, and ethylbenzene in polystyrene have been analyzed using the Vrentas/Duda free-volume diffusion model. Diffusion coefficient predictions suggest an exponential concentration dependence of the activation energy required to overcome attractive forces, E. Without the use of any diffusion data approximating E as zero over the entire concentration range yields self-diffusion coefficient predictions which are in good agreement with experimental data. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The morphology of blends of styrenic polymers in a matrix of 75% Nylon-6 prepared in a Brabender Plasti-Corder was examined by scanning electron microscopy. Styrene/acrylonitrile copolymers (SAN) form smaller particles as the AN level increases owing to the corresponding decrease in the SAN–polyamide interfacial tension. Various styrenic polymers containing functional groups, maleic anhydride or oxazoline type, that can react with Nylon-6 during melt processing were added to the SAN phase which also led to a decrease in the particle size owing to the graft copolymer formed in situ. The effects of functional group type, amount of functional groups per chain, amount of functional polymer added, and the miscibility of the styrene/maleic anhydride (SMA) and SAN copolymers on the morphology of the styrenic phase in the Nylon-6 matrix are described. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Uncertainty about the nature and significance of nonlinearities and the manner in which dynamics affect future realizations makes model specification the most difficult aspect of modeling dynamic systems. By interpreting several popular fishery models as subcases of a nesting dynamic Taylor series approximation, we isolate the specification differences between these models in a way that accounts for commonalities. On the argument that the differences due to alternative nonlinear forms are likely to be small compared to more mundane considerations such as delay difference and general dynamic lag specification, we propose an alternative model that uses the terms from the first order approximation common to all models combined with a data-based determination of the appropriate lags using the methods of state space time series analysis. Finally, the success of the alternative models is judged in an application to Pacific halibut data.  相似文献

The solvent extraction of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) using 2,4-pent-dione (Hacac) and 4-phenyl-2, 4-but-dione (Hbzac) is carried out by varying the reagent concentration and pH of the aqueous phase. Each of these metals is quantitatively separated (≈ 98%) from their binary mixtures with monovalent (Ag), divalent (Mn, Zn, Cd, Hg, Mg, Sn, Pb) and trivalent (Cr, Fe) metals. The extraction constants are calculated from the metal distribution data using linear regression analysis. The extracted species is MA2 in each case. A most significant result is separation of copper(II) from iron(III) which otherwise interferes when extracted from the acidic medium.  相似文献

Poly(siloxaneimide) (PSI) segmented copolymers exhibit organized microdomains if the blocks are sufficiently incompatible. As with neat diblock and triblock copolymers, the processing route employed to prepare films of PSI materials is expected to influence the dimensions and/or morphology of the resultant microstructure. In this work, small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) is utilized to characterize the disordered microstructure found in films of a series of PSI copolymers which are subjected to solvent casting and various thermal treatments. Microstructural dimensions such as the periodicity and correlation length are deduced from the Teubner-Strey (TS) model for disordered microemulsions. The scattering intensity of each copolymer up to q = 5.0 nm?1, where q is the scattering vector, is found to scale as q?2.8+?0.1. Results indicate that processing the materials as cast films or as melt-pressed films allowed to cool slowly has a small, but discernible, effect on microstructural characteristics. SANS profiles of films quenched from elevated temperatures reveal a clear transition in microdomain periodicity, which correlates well with the glass transition temperature of the imide microphase in these and other materials of similar chemical structure. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Summary Chemiluminescent reactions of ozone with several classes of compounds at different temperatures are described. In a reaction chamber in front of a photomultiplier ozone is mixed with the compounds studied such as alkanes, olefins, alcohols, aromatics, C2H2, NO, vinyl chloride or H2S. The chemiluminescent emission is proportional to the concentration of the compound involved. At room temperature only olefinic hydrocarbons respond but at temperatures above 150°C also a response for alkanes, alcohols, CO etc. is obtained. It is suggested that next to the ozonide-excited formaldehyde mechanism the CO-CO 2 * mechanism is responsible for the chemiluminescent emission at high temperature. A detection limit of a few ppb is achieved. Possible applications are a selective gas-chromatographic detector, an air pollution monitor for instance for CO, and a photochemical reactivity monitor.
Bestimmung reaktiver Kohlenwasserstoffe durch Chemiluminescenz
Zusammenfassung Chemiluminescenzreaktionen von Ozon mit verschiedenen Verbindungsgruppen (hauptsächlich Kohlenwasserstoffe) bei unterschiedlichen Temperaturen werden beschrieben. In einer Reaktionskammer werden die Verbindungen vor einem Photomultiplier mit Ozon vermischt. Es handelt sich u. a. um folgende Verbindungstypen: Alkane, Olefine, Alkohole, Aromaten, C2H2, NO, Vinylchlorid, H2S. Die Emissionsintensität ist proportional der Konzentration. Bei Raumtemperatur sprechen nur Olefine an, die übrigen Verbindungen erst über 150°C. Die Emission bei höherer Temperatur wird neben der Bildung von Formaldehyd auf die Reaktion CO-CO 2 * zurückgeführt. Die Nachweisgrenze beträgt wenige ppb. Als mögliche Anwendungsgebiete werden ein selektiver GC-Detektor, ein Monitor für Luftverunreinigungen (z.B. für CO) sowie ein Monitor zur Messung photochemischer Reaktivität der Luft genannt.
