SYNTHESIS OF LIGHT OLEFINS FROM SYNGAS VIA DIMETHYLETHR——A NEW TECHNIQUE PROCESS

A new route named as SDTO method for the synthesis of lightolefins from syngas has been proposed.That is to convert syngas todimethylether and then to convert dimethylether to light olefins.The catalystsfor the two conversion reactions have been developed.For the first reaction,the catulySt was synthesized by the combination of methanol synthesis catalystwith γ-Al_2O_3or zeolites which possesses both metallic and acidic functions.Thecatalyst for the second reaction was modified SAPO-34 molecular sieve.Thevariables of the reactions have also been investigated.The results from theserial connection of the two conversion steps without any separation show thatthe yield of C_2~-C_4~- olefins Could be>100g/(m~3 syngas).     

Microscopic Theory of Blue Phases Ⅰ and Ⅱ of Liquid Crystal

The microscopic theory of the blue phases of chiral liquid crystal is proposed. Beginning with the potential between two molecules, by using the cell model of liquid, applying statistical physical method, the distribution function and the free energy of the system are obtained. By using variational approach and zero-order approximation, the differential equation that the order parameter tensor of the blue phase can satisfy is obtained. Then we change the differential equation to the eigenequation problem in quantum mechanics. Considering the symmetry of the blue phases,the order parameter tensors of blue phases Ⅰ and Ⅱ can be made up of the eigenvectors. Our results are the same as the results of Ginzberg-Landau‘s phenomenological theory. The parameters in the order parameter tensors that we calculate in the located system are close to the predecessors‘ results.     

Microwave-Assisted Soluble Polymer-supported Synthesis of Peptoids

Libraries of peptide-like compounds are attractive sources of binding agents for proteomics applications. The synthesis of oligomeric combinatorial libraries of peptidomimetics is usually more straightforward than the creation of large libraries of more "drug-like" molecules. Herein we report synthesis of peptoids on soluble high loading Noncross-linked polystyrene. The synthesis route consists of: (a) preparation "soluble wang resin" from non-crosslinked polystyrene and 4-hydroxybenzyl alcohol via ether linkage, (b) an esterification step performed by the addition of bromoacetyl bromide to "soluble wang resin" and (c) a nucleophilic displacement of bromide with a primary amine.

Waugh-型镍钼杂多酸的量子化学计算

采用半经验INDO法，完成了Waugh-型镍钼杂多酸（NH44）6〔NIMO9O32〕·6H2O的量子化学计算，得到146个成键轨道和78个反键轨道，轨道能级，电荷和键序等数据。通过对这些数据的分析，表明杂多酸分子中端氧和Ni都可能为化学活性中心，各原子轨道在分子轨道中都占有一定比例，其HOMO和LUMO能级皆为负值，其体系具有进一步接受电子的能力。这些结论与实验事实一致。     

Study of occupational health impact of atmospheric pollution on exposed workers at an iron and steel complex by using neutron activation analysis of scalp hair

The occupational health impact of atmospheric pollution on exposed workers at one iron and steel complex was studied by instrumental neutron activation analysis of workers' hair samples and medical examination. The experimental results indicate that there is a positive correlation between the high inhalation amounts of iron and other trace elements by the exposed workers and the symptom of their high blood pressure and hypoglycemia, which implies that the atmospheric environment polluted by iron and steel industry has an adverse health impact on the exposed workers. The measures to relieve and abate the occupational diseases caused by air-borne particulate matter should be taken     

Synthesis and Structural Characterization of cis- and trans-bis(4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine)cadmium(II) Nitrates Prepared in a One-pot Reaction

The cis and trans isomers of [Cd(dmbpy)₂](NO₃)₂] (dmbpy = 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine) have been synthesized simultaneously via a one-pot reaction of Cd(NO₃)₂ · 4H₂O with the dmbpy ligand in a MeOH/H₂O mixture; they can be obtained individually by means of the mechanical separation due to their different growing habit of the single-crystals. Different π-stacking interactions are observed in the cis and trans isomers forming different one-dimensional networks. The outcome of the DFT calculations agrees well with the experimental results.     

Design and Synthesis of 1-Benzyl-3-(a-hydroxy-(un)substituted benzylidene)pyrrolidine-2,4-diones as Potential Herbicides

The inhibitors of 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD, EC 1.13.11.27) are an new kind of herbicides.[1]Generally, in structure, potent herbicides of this kind must possess: (1) a tricarbonyl methane structure and one of the three carbonyl groups must be a subustituted benzoyl group; (2) the compound must be able to enolise so that the enolate is capable of inhibiting HPPD enzyme by competitive combination with Fe2+, the reaction center of HPPD enzyme.[2]Recently, we noticed that the 3-acyltetramic acids form an expanding group of antibiotics and pigments from micro-organisms,[3] they display a range of biological activities[4] and all of this kind compounds possess all of the characters mentioned above. Tests of their antimicrobial activities indicated that the structure of the acyl substituent at the 3-position was important to many typical antibiotics.[4～6] These characters stimulated us to study this kind of compounds so as to discover new herbicides. In this report, we synthesized a series of compounds 3 and tested their herbicidal activities to investigate their structure-activity relationships.
