The total drag force on the surface of a body, which is the sum of the form drag and the skin friction drag in a 2D domain, is numerically evaluated by integrating the energy dissipation rate in the whole domain for an incompressible Stokes fluid. The finite element method is used to calculate both the energy dissipation rate in the whole domain as well as the drag on the boundary of the body. The evaluation of the drag and the energy dissipation rate are post-processing operations which are carried out after the velocity field and the pressure field for the flow over a particular profile have been obtained. The results obtained for the flow over three different but constant area profiles—a circle, an ellipse and a cross-section of a prolate spheroid—with uniform inlet velocity are presented and it is shown that the total drag force times the velocity is equal to the total energy dissipation rate in the entire finite flow domain. Hence, by calculating the energy dissipation rate in the domain with unit velocity specified at the far-field boundary enclosing the domain, the drag force on the boundary of the body can be obtained. 相似文献

A 10MeV 25KW plus class electron LINAC was developed for sterilisation of medical devices. The LINAC composed of a standing wave type single cavity prebuncher and a 2m electro-plated travelling wave guide uses a 5MW 2856MHz pulse klystron as an RF source and provides 25KW beam power at the Ti alloy beam window stably after the energy analysing magnet with 10MeV plus-minus 1 MeV energy slit. The practical maximum beam power reached 29 KW and this demonstrated the LINAC as one of the most powerful S-band electron LINACs in the world. The control of the LINAC is fully automated and the “One-Button Operation” is realised, which is valuable for easy operation as a plant system. 2 systems have been delivered and are being operated stably. 相似文献

In this study, oxidation of bisphenol-A (IUPAC name – 2,2-(4,4-dihydroxyphenyl, BPA), which is an endocrine disrupting phenolic compound used in the polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resin industry, was investigated using sono-photo-Fenton process under visible light irradiation in the presence of an iron containing perovskite catalyst, LaFeO3. The catalyst prepared by sol–gel method, calcined at 500 °C showed a catalytic activity in BPA oxidation using sono-photo-Fenton process with a degradation degree and a chemical oxygen demand (COD) reduction of 21.8% and 11.2%, respectively. Degradation of BPA was studied by using individual and combined advanced oxidation techniques including sonication, heterogeneous Fenton reaction and photo oxidation over this catalyst to understand the effect of each process on degradation of BPA. It was seen, the role of sonication was very important in hybrid sono-photo-Fenton process due to the pyrolysis and sonoluminescence effects caused by ultrasonic irradiation. The prepared LaFeO3 perovskite catalyst was a good sonocatalyst rather than a photocatalyst. Sonication was not only the effective process to degrade BPA but also it was the cost effective process in terms of energy consumption. The studies show that the energy consumption is lower in the sono-Fenton process than those in the photo-Fenton and sono-photo- Fenton processes. 相似文献

The present work reports a novel dual-pulse ultrasound enhanced electrochemical degradation (US-ECD) process that synchronizes alternatively ultrasound pulses and potential pulses to degrade nitrobenzene in aqueous solution with a high percentage degradation and low energy consumption. In comparison to the test results generated from the conventional US-ECD and original electrochemical degradation (ECD) process, the dual-pulse US-ECD process increased degradation percentages to nitrobenzene by 2% and 17%, respectively, while energy used in the pulse process was only about 46.5% of that was used in the conventional US-ECD process. Test results demonstrated a superior performance of the dual-pulse US-ECD process over those of other conventional ones. Impacts of pulse mode, initial pH value, cell voltage, supporting electrolyte concentration and ultrasonic power on the process performances were investigated. With operation conditions optimized in the study at pH = 3.0, cell voltage = 10 V, ultrasonic power = 48.84 W, electrolyte concentration = 0.1 M and an experiment running time of 30 min, the percentage degradation of nitrobenzene could reach 80% (US pulse time = 50 ms and ECD pulse time = 50 ms). This process provided a reliable and effective technical approach to degrade nitrobenzene in aqueous solution and significantly reduced energy consumption in comparison to the conventional US-ECD or original ECD treatment. 相似文献

A three-dimensional numerical time-domain model based on the linearised Euler equation is applied to idealised urban situations with elongated, isolated buildings beside a straight street with sound emissions. The paper aims at the investigation of principle relationships between the source-receiver geometry (street and building facades) and sound propagation under the consideration of ground and wind. By applying cyclic lateral boundary conditions for either one or both horizontal co-ordinates, two different idealised urban environments were considered: a single street and parallel streets. Numerical experiments were performed to elaborate the effects of different roof types, ground properties, wind flow, and turbulence in both urban environments with the focus on the back facades (‘quiet’ sides) of the buildings. As a result it was found that the back facades of flat-roof buildings are quieter than those of hip roof buildings despite equal cross-cut areas. The wind effect (resulting in quieter upwind and louder downwind facades) is more pronounced for hip-roof buildings. In the case of parallel streets upwind facades are slightly louder than downwind facades because they are simultaneously exposed to downwind propagating sound from the next parallel street. 相似文献

Beam expanders being used presently have complex structure and none is perfect. A novel beam expander is proposed first. The beam expander can magnify (or decrease) the diameter of incident laser beam according to the theory of total internal reflection–refraction (TIR-R) principle. The characteristic of the beam expander was studied by using ray-tracing method and computer simulation. The beam expander can propagate a parallel laser beam along the propagation axis and would not change the propagation direction of the beam. For a nonparallel beam the Lagrange invariant (the product of diameter and divergence angle) is not constant. This beam expander would be an effective device in some applications. 相似文献

We report a beam-delivery system consisting of a non-digitized diffractive beam splitter and a Fourier transform lens. The system is applied to the deep-drilling of silicon using a nanosecond pulse laser in the manufacture of inkjet printer heads. In this process, a circularly polarized pulse beam is divided into an array of uniform beams, which are then delivered precisely to the process points. To meet these requirements, the splitter was designed to be polarization-independent with an efficiency>95%. The optical elements were assembled so as to allow the fine tuning of the effective overall focal length by adjusting the wavefront curvature of the beam. Using the system, a beam alignment accuracy of<5 μm was achieved for a 12-mm-wide beam array and the throughput was substantially improved (10,000 points on a silicon wafer drilled in ~1 min). In this study, strain rate effects on the compressive mechanical properties of randomly structured carbon nanotube (CNT) networks were examined. For this purpose, three-dimensional atomistic models of CNT networks with covalently-bonded junctions were generated. After that, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of compressive loading were performed at five different strain rates to investigate the basic deformation characteristic mechanisms of CNT networks and determine the effect of strain rate on stress–strain curves. The simulation results showed that the strain rate of compressive loading increases, so that a higher resistance of specimens to deformation is observed. Furthermore, the local deformation characteristics of CNT segments, which are mainly driven by bending and buckling modes, and their prevalence are strongly affected by the deformation rate. It was also observed that CNT networks have superior features to metal foams such as metal matrix syntactic foams (MMSFs) and porous sintered fiber metals (PSFMs) in terms of energy absorbing capabilities. 相似文献

We study the statistical properties of hourly wind speed time series detected at four weather stations in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, in the period 2008-2009. We find that the average and maximum hourly wind speeds deviate from a mutual linear relationship, and that they may be well explained individually by a Weibull distribution, however, with different shape parameter values. On the other hand, the long-term correlations of both of these observables obey the same power-law behavior, with two distinct scaling regimes. Our results agree with previous studies on wind speed series correlations in other regions of the world, which is suggestive of universal behavior. 相似文献
