Finite-Time Optimal Control of Polynomial Systems Using Successive Suboptimal Approximations

It is shown in this paper that the finite-time optimal control of polynomial systems can be obtained by solving a sequence of optimal control problems for the linearized problem. The paper provides proof of convergence as well as illustration of the procedure by two examples.     

All-time Morse decompositions of linear nonautonomous dynamical systems

Morse decompositions provide inside information about the global asymptotic behavior of dynamical systems on compact metric spaces. Recently, the existence of Morse decompositions for nonautonomous dynamical systems was proved by restricting attention to the past or the future of the system, but in general, such a construction is not realizable for the entire time. In this article, it is shown that all-time Morse decompositions can be defined for linear systems on the projective space. Moreover, the dynamical properties are discussed and an analogue to the Theorem of Selgrade is proved.

为解决存在干扰情况下的功态系统稳态调优问题,提出了一种新的目标函数及其梯度的辨识方法,并以此给出了抗干扰调优方案。理论分析和仿真结果表明:该法可在较强的输入动态扰动和外干扰下,自动移动工作点至最优点,并具有最优点跟踪性能。     

Application of the sequential gradient-restoration algorithm to thermal convective instability problems

The problem of the thermal stability of a horizontal incompressible fluid layer with linear and nonlinear temperature distributions is solved by using the sequential gradient-restoration algorithm developed for optimal control problems. The hydrodynamic boundary conditions for the layer include a rigid or free upper surface and a rigid lower surface. The resulting disturbing equations are solved as a Bolza problem in the calculus of variations. The results of the study are compared with the existing works in the literature.The authors acknowledge valuable discussions with Dr. A. Miele.
