A novel direct alkylation of thiophenes via bis-coupling with vinyl acetates has been developed. To the best of our knowledge, this represents the first report of the iron-catalysed coupling of two thiophenes with vinyl groups. Utilizing earth-abundant, inexpensive, and non-toxic iron catalysts, this methodology converts simple thiophenes to symmetrical dithienylethane derivatives under mild conditions in one step. 相似文献

In this report, we synthesized poly(N‐vinyl imidazole) (PNVI) grafted silica nanoparticles (SiNP) by using RAFT polymerization through grafting‐from approach to demonstrate that the self‐assembled structure of SiNP is the key diving force in improving physical properties of SiNP based nanocomposites. In a multistep synthetic process, well‐defined PNVI chains with tunable molecular weights and surface chain densities were grown from the RAFT agent anchored SiNP surface using N‐vinyl imidazole (NVI) as a monomer. Spectroscopic and thermal analysis confirmed surface grafting of PNVI on SiNP surface and the amount of grafted PNVI chins were also quantified. The mean diameter of the PNVI grafted SiNP (PNVI‐g‐SiNP) particles altered between 50 and 100 nm with the variation of PNVI chain lengths. The present approach is metal‐catalyst free, straight forward, and provides PNVI functionalized SiNP in a simple manner in comparison to the reported methods. Further, these PNVI‐g‐SiNP particles were used as a nanofiller to prepare nanocomposites with Poly(4,4′‐diphenylether‐5,5′‐bibenzimidazole) (OPBI). These nanocomposites displayed significantly higher mechanical, proton conductivity and less acid leaching properties than the pristine OPBI. The anisotropic self‐assembled ordered structure formation of nanofillers in the nanocomposites believed to be the driving force for the enhanced physical properties. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The one‐step synthesis of well‐defined CO2‐based diblock copolymers was achieved by simultaneous ring‐opening copolymerization (ROCOP) of CO2/epoxides and RAFT polymerization of vinyl monomers using a trithiocarbonate compound bearing a carboxylic group (TTC‐COOH) as the bifunctional chain transfer agent (CTA). The double chain‐transfer effect allows for independent and precise control over the molecular weight of the two blocks and ensures narrow polydispersities of the resultant block copolymers (1.09–1.14). Notably, an unusual axial group exchange reaction between the aluminum porphyrin catalyst and TTC‐COOH impedes the formation of homopolycarbonates. By taking advantage of the RAFT technique, it is able to meet the stringent demand for functionality control to well expand the application scopes of CO2‐based polycarbonates. 相似文献

Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA)–functionalized β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) polymer crosslinked by citric acid (PVA-g-CD) was synthesized, characterized and evaluated for the catalytic oxidation of cinnamaldehydes. The polymer showed good activity and selectivity to aldehydes for some structurally diverse cinnamaldehydes. The enhanced catalytic activity may be attributed to the synergistic effect of the intermolecular weak interactions between β-CD and the functional group of PVA. In addition, calcium peroxide as a solid oxidant was found to significantly affect the reaction. The stereospecific radical polymerization of vinyl esters, methacrylates, and alpha-substituted acrylates was studied. Fluoroalcohols, as a solvent, have remarkable effects on the stereoregularity of the radical polymerizations of vinyl acetate, vinyl pivalate, and vinyl benzoate, affording polymers rich in syndiotacticity, heterotacticity, and isotacticity, respectively. This method was successfully applied to the polymerization of methacrylates to give syndiotactic polymers. The steric repulsion between the entering monomer and the chain-end monomeric unit bound by the solvent through hydrogen bonding is important for the stereochemical control in these systems. Lewis acid catalysts, such as lanthanide trifluoromethanesulfonates and zinc salts, were also effective for the stereocontrol during the radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate, to reduce the syndiotacticity and alpha-(alkoxymethyl)acrylates to synthesize isotactic and syndiotactic polymers. Radical polymerization of the methacrylates bearing a bulky ester group, such as the triphenylmethyl methacrylate derivatives, gave highly isotactic polymers, as in the case of anionic polymerization. In addition, the control of one-handed helical conformation was attained in the radical polymerization of 1-phenyldibenzosuberyl methacrylate using chiral neomenthanethiol or cobalt(II) complexes as an additive. 相似文献

Stereoregulation in the cationic polymerization of various alkyl vinyl ethers was investigated with bis[(2,6‐diisopropyl)phenoxy]titanium dichloride ( 1 ; catalyst) in conjunction with the HCl adduct of isobutyl vinyl ether as an initiator in n‐hexane at −78 °C. The tacticities depended on the substituents of the monomers. Isobutyl and isopropyl vinyl ethers gave highly isotactic polymers (mm = 83%), whereas tert‐butyl and n‐butyl vinyl ethers resulted in lower isotactic contents (mm ∼ 50%) similar to those for TiCl4, a conventional Lewis acid, thus indicating that the steric bulkiness of the substituents was not the critical factor in stereoregulation. A statistical analysis revealed that the high isospecificity was achieved not by the chain end but by the catalyst 1 or the counteranion derived therefrom. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Photochemical reactions of aromatic azide groups were applied for a novel photosensitive silicone ladder polymer, that is, partially vinyl‐substituted polyphenylsilsesquioxane sensitized with aromatic bisazide compounds as a photocrosslinker. The photocrosslinking reaction in this system was investigated from the viewpoint of the efficiency of the photocrosslinker, that is, the ratio of the photocrosslinker consumed for crosslinking. The numbers of photodecomposed azide groups and crosslinks in the polymer were determined by Fourier transform infrared measurements. At a higher bisazide concentration, the predominant reaction of nitrenes formed as the intermediary radical by the photolysis of azide was a coupling reaction that could not contribute to the gelation of the polymer. The ratio of the bisazide compound consumed for crosslinking showed the highest value at its concentration of 3 wt % and decreased with the addition of a larger amount. The semiempirical molecular orbital calculations were applied to the theoretical analysis of the photoreaction of nitrenes using phenylnitrene as a model structure. The calculation results indicated that the coupling reaction of nitrenes should proceed more easily than the photocrosslinking reaction in N2 atmosphere, and the fact that the oxidation of nitrenes should proceed exclusively in the atmosphere including O2 agreed with the experimental results. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
