The project "Exploration and Practice of Chemical Industry Reform and Upgrade Paths Facing New Economy" is one of the first batch of emerging engineering education undertaken by the Ministry of Education, which was completed by Wuhan Institute of Technology. This article summarizes the measures and effects of the emerging engineering education construction process, and discusses the target system construction for the perspective of future-oriented excellent engineer, multi-dimensional teaching system construction, diversified engineering education teacher team construction, innovation and entrepreneurship education promotion.

Application of Fiber-Optical Techniques in the Access Transmission and Backbone Transport of Mobile Networks

Abstract

Fixed access networks widely employ fiber-optical techniques due to the extremely wide bandwidth offered to subscribers. In the last decade, there has also been an enormous increase of user data visible in mobile systems. The importance of fiber-optical techniques within the fixed transmission/transport networks of mobile systems is therefore inevitably increasing. This article summarizes a few reasons and gives examples why and how fiber-optic techniques are employed efficiently in second-generation networks.

The PHENIX forward spectrometer upgrade

The forward spectrometer upgrade of the PHENIX detector aims to add capabilities at forward rapidities to: probe nucleon structure through W production and promptphotons in polarized p + p, study nucleon structure in nuclei at high parton densities in p + A collisions through the measurement of γ and π⁰ in the forward region, greatly extend the acceptance for high p _T γ-jet measurements (jet tomography) in A + A, and increase our capabilities to measure the production quarkonium states by giving sensitivity to the χ _c through the J/ψ + γ channel. for the PHENIX Forward Upgrade Collaboration Presented in the Poster Session “Future Experiments and Facilities” at the 18th International Conference “Quark Matter 2005”, Budapest, Hungary, 4–9 August 2005.
