Study on the EM Scattering of Rivets on the Plate

The electromagnetic (EM) scattering by rivets on the conducting plate is studied for the first time by using electric field integral equation (EFIE) in conjunction with the moment method. The surfaces of the rivets and the plate are partitioned into triangular cells, the current distribution on the patches is represented by sub-domain type basis function, the EFIE is translated into matrix equation by the Galerkin method, then the current coefficient is obtained. The results show the properties of radar cross section (RCS) varying with the incident angle when there are rivets on the plate.     

In Search of Alternatives to Higgs Fields

Field equations of the S² sigma model (“the A3 model”) with spontaneously broken Z(2) symmetry are presented for (D+1)-dimensional space–time. The A3 model is an extension of the sine-Gordon equation (SGE) and supports kink-like U(1) charged solitons which are a generalization of neutral solitons of the SGE. The natural question arises — is the A3 model completely integrable in (1+1)-dimensional space–time? The Lorentz-invariant scalar A3 field can be viewed as a promising alternative to the Higgs field.     

Spectroscopy on very neutron-rich nuclei beyond N = 20

Recent studies on nuclear structure by using radioactive isotope beams available at the RIKEN projectile-fragment separator (RIPS) are introduced. Special emphasis is given to two selected experiments from recent programs that highlight studies on the magicity loss observed for very neutron-rich nuclei beyond N = 20 in the “island-of-inversion” region; the particle stability of ³¹F, and the low-lying excited states of ³⁴Mg. Application of the stabilization method to interacting resonances

The stabilization method is applied to the case of interacting resonances in the photo-dissociation of van der Waals clusters composed by a rare gas atom bound to a dihalogen molecule. The study of an illustrative two-dimensional model consisting in a T-shaped NeI₂ molecule shows the adequacy of the method whenever the projection of the stabilization wave functions on the assumed prepared initial state is accounted for. The agreement of the fragmentation cross-sections with some previous results using the effective resolvent method and accurate close-coupling calculations is excellent. The method reveals its utility as a complementary tool since allows, through the analysis of the stabilization wave function in terms of zero-order levels, a precise characterization of the resonant states involved. Evolution of shapes in 59Cu

High-spin states in ⁵⁹Cu were populated using the fusion-evaporation reaction ²⁸Si + ⁴⁰Ca at a beam energy of 122 MeV. The Gammasphere Ge-detector array in conjunction with the 4π charged-particle detector array Microball allowed for the detection of γ-rays in coincidence with evaporated light particles. The resulting extensive high-spin decay scheme of ⁵⁹Cu is presented, which comprises more than 320 γ-ray transitions connecting about 150 excited states. Their spins and parities have been assigned via directional correlations of γ-rays emitted from oriented states. Average quadrupole moments of rotational bands have been determined from the analysis of residual Doppler shifts. Shell model calculations in the fp shell are invoked to study some of the low-spin states, while the experimental characteristics of the rotational bands are analyzed in the configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky (CNS) approach. 三种方法防治调节性近视效果观察

本文采用阿托品点眼、提高照明、减轻学习负担三种方法，对82名正常视力和46名调节性近视眼的学生进行防治七个月。对预防近视眼的发生，减轻学习负担效果最好，阿托品点眼和提高照明对调节性近视治疗四个月效果明显。
