In this paper the conditions for the existence of self-similar solutions of the equations governing unsteady flows through a porous medium are presented and discussed. The first two sections deal with the case of non-Newtonian fluids of power-law behavior; the third section analyzes the case of non-Darcy gas flows. The boundary and initial conditions occuring currently in a large class of fluid mechanics problems, of practical interest in engineering, are considered.  相似文献

A laboratory study including physical modeling of filtration processes in porous beds with similarity criteria satisfied is performed. Some steady as well as unsteady solutions of the equations of motion for an incompressible Newtonian and non-Newtonian (second-grade) fluids are obtained by applying different methods including the Lie symmetry group method. The flows considered are axially symmetric with the swirling motion, and the governing equations for second-grade fluid flow have been modeled. Expressions for streamlines, velocity and vorticity components are constructed explicitly in each case. Exact analytical solutions in second-grade fluid are obtained and compared with the corresponding viscous solutions.  相似文献

A numerical study is reported on the fully developed unsteady laminar fluid flow in microchannel parallel-plates partially filled with a uniform porous medium and partially filled with a clear fluid. The flow is induced by the movement of one of the plates and the pressure gradient. The Brinkman-extended Darcy model is utilized to model the flow in the porous region, while the Stokes equation is used in the clear fluid region. A theoretical analysis is also presented for the fully developed steady flow to find closedform expressions for the interfacial velocity and the velocity and skin frictions at the bounding plates. Numerical computations shows excellent agreement between the closedform solutions for fully developed steady flow and the numerical solution to unsteady flow at large values of time.  相似文献

This article studies the three-dimensional boundary layer flow of an elasticoviscous fluid over a stretching surface. Velocity of the stretching sheet is assumed to be time-dependent. Effect of mass transfer with higher order chemical reaction is further considered. Computations are made by the homptopy analysis method (HAM). Convergence of the obtained series solutions is explicitly analyzed. Variations of embedding parameters on the velocity and concentration are graphically discussed. Numerical computations of surface mass transfer are reported. Comparison of the present results with the numerical solutions is also given.  相似文献

基于RANS方程,通过刚性动网格技术实现对翼型和机翼典型运动模式的描述,采用双时间推进方法和Roe空间离散格式对流场求解,构建了一个非定常气动计算平台;以NACA0012翼型为算倒进行了动态数值模拟可信度验证。数值模拟结果与试验数据吻合较好,升力和俯仰力矩的最大计算误差分别为3%和10%,表明了该平台的可靠性。另外,还数值模拟了M6机翼的动态非定常流场,并分析了两种湍流模型对非定常流场激波的捕捉能力。结果表明非定常流动中S-A湍流模型对激波的捕捉较B-L模型更敏感。文中开发的非定常计算平台对进一步解决三维复杂流场的流动问题有很高的工程应用价值。  相似文献

A new numerical method for solving the axisymmetric unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations using vorticity-velocity variables and a staggered grid is presented. The solution is advanced in time with an explicit two-stage Runge-Kutta method. At each stage a vector Poisson equation for velocity is solved. Some important aspects of staggering of the variable location, divergence-free correction to the velocity field by means of a suitably chosen scalar potential and numerical treatment of the vorticity boundary condition are examined. The axisymmetric spherical Couette flow between two concentric differentially rotating spheres is computed as an initial value problem. Comparison of the computational results using a staggered grid with those using a non-staggered grid shows that the staggered grid is superior to the non-staggered grid. The computed scenario of the transition from zero-vortex to two-vortex flow at moderate Reynolds number agrees with that simulated using a pseudospectral method, thus validating the temporal accuracy of our method.  相似文献

The single‐phase level set method for unsteady viscous free surface flows is presented. In contrast to the standard level set method for incompressible flows, the single‐phase level set method is concerned with the solution of the flow field in the water (or the denser) phase only. Some of the advantages of such an approach are that the interface remains sharp, the computation is performed within a fluid with uniform properties and that only minor computations are needed in the air. The location of the interface is determined using a signed distance function, and appropriate interpolations at the fluid/fluid interface are used to enforce the jump conditions. A reinitialization procedure has been developed for non‐orthogonal grids with large aspect ratios. A convective extension is used to obtain the velocities at previous time steps for the grid points in air, which allows a good estimation of the total derivatives. The method was applied to three unsteady tests: a plane progressive wave, sloshing in a two‐dimensional tank, and the wave diffraction problem for a surface ship, and the results compared against analytical solutions or experimental data. The method can in principle be applied to any problem in which the standard level set method works, as long as the stress on the second phase can be specified (or neglected) and no bubbles appear in the flow during the computation. 提出了一种适合于不同速度范围的高精度高分辨率的迎风有限差分格式,并基于此数植模型发展了适应于速度范围极宽的非定常粘性流动通用软件,不仅适用于超音速下捕捉强间断面,跨音速及高亚音速下捕捉弱间断面和滑移面,还可以精确地模拟低速情况下的粘性流动。此软件可分别用于研究内流和外流的流动特性以及预估其粘性损失。  相似文献
