A series of heterogeneous composite photocatalysts was prepared by the deposition of titanium dioxide on porous magnesium
phosphate, calcium phosphate, titanium phosphate, zirconium phosphate, and aluminum phosphate supports. The activities of
these photocatalysts were compared in the photodecomposition of Rhodamine C dye by the action of UV irradiation. The best
functional characteristics were found for the photocatalysts on the magnesium phosphate support treated at 750°C. The use
of the photocatalysts on phosphate supports was found to hold promise in photocatalytic water purification.

A new family of achiral 3,3′,5,5′-tetrasubstituted-2,2′,6,6′-tetrahydroxy biphenyl ligand 4 was developed. The axial chirality of the ligand could be induced by the chelation of 2,2′,6,6′-tetrahydroxy groups with (R)-BINOL-Ti(OiPr)2 to form an axially chiral bimetallic titanium catalyst 9. Compared with (R)-BINOL-Ti(OiPr)2 catalyst, this novel catalyst 9 exhibited excellent activity and enantioselectivity for the carbonyl-ene reaction of methylstyrene and ethyl glyoxylate. 3,3′,5,5′-Tetrasubstituted groups showed a remarkable effect on both enantioselectivity and yield. With 9d prepared from 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethyl-2,2′,6,6′-tetrahydroxy biphenyl 4d as the catalyst, the best result, up to 97.6% ee and 99% yield, was obtained. Additionally, the bimetallic catalyst 9 also showed better catalytic capability than the corresponding monometallic catalyst. 相似文献
A route with less congestion : A practical method for the highly diastereoselective preparation of anti tertiary homoallylic alcohols has been developed. The reaction of allyltitanocenes, generated by the reductive titanation of various allylic substrates with a titanocene(II) species, with a variety of ketones produced the anti tertiary homoallylic alcohols in good diastereoselectivity, even when using sterically less congested ketones (see scheme; Cp: cyclopentadienyl; Piv: pivaloyl).
Functional spheres : Monodisperse gold‐doped titania spheres with tunable sizes under high concentration of titanium precursor have been synthesized by introducing trace amounts of chloroauric acid into the reaction system. Surface photovoltage, surface photocurrent, and transient photovoltage measurements (see figure) of annealed samples reveal that gold nanodots can act as both electron acceptors and donors under the illumination of different wavelengths of light.
The condensation of dialkyl β‐diesters with various aldehydes promoted by TiCl4 has been studied by DFT approaches and experimental methods, including NMR, IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy. Various possible reaction pathways have been investigated and their energy profiles evaluated to find out a plausible mechanism of the reaction. Theoretical results and experimental evidence point to a three‐step mechanism: 1) Ti‐induced formation of the enolate ion; 2) aldol reaction between the enolate ion and the aldehyde, both coordinated to titanium; and 3) intramolecular elimination that leads to a titanyl complex. The presented mechanistic hypothesis allows one to better understand the pivotal role of titanium(IV) in the reaction. 相似文献
